  • We have to get lucky with a manger soon...

talk about the sublime to the ridiculous, tis liek we have had the exact same fortune that took us to the prem reverse on us and kick us in the balls..

I know its charlton and I know its a rollercoaster but I admire you guys for turning up to this complete pile of shit every week, where the football is soo bad that even when we win you feel like topping yourself...

Horrible time, horrible experience, and I know its been said before but I feel the club is collapsing under its own weight.. this smacks of when we went down to years ago, flattering to decieve average players out of their depth, expectancy bearing down on them and no way out without money...

Last years team would be firmly rooted in the top 4, this lot are gonna be mid table at best... and Murray knew this, he said the budget is for a tema that can "compete" we bought a load of dross really and the one area that suffers when you buy a load of rubbish the one area that you cannot cover up is goalscoring... we are and were desperate and we have nothing creative in the middle, we have strikers who hang around and wait basically, and we have teams that play us and know that and mark the wingers...

I felt a one nil today.. must be the weather or something....

rubbish, next decision made by the board could finish the club in my view, we should have sold when the club was in the prem...

could of, would of, should of...

    Bollocks.....
  • Even the apologist's on here can surely no longer defend him or murray. The problem we have is that there is no way murray will sack him and he won't walk either. With this man in charge, I can honestly see relegation on the horizon. It has all the hallmarks of when we got relegated last time.
  • He's made it quite clear in his post match interview that he won't fall on his sword.

Has Murray got the guts to make a big decision?. He waited 5 games too long with Pardew. Will he do it again?. The writing is on the wall. Its in capital letters.

Brighton weren't that good, we were just shockingly bad.
  • Jesus mascott as you are usually one of the more optimistic posters I feel like crying after reading that mate!
  • Would another manager have done better with funds parky had IMO no, can we get someone else in IMO no should we try YES
  • Parky out! Lets get curbs back or maybe Powell?
  • For all the comments PP made regarding awareness of Brighton's playing style, he did nothing to counter it other than having 3 forwards chasing shadows. The identikit corner-kick routines make you wonder if they had analysed Brighton at all, while the sight of our midfield pairing jogging gently back as their opponents attacked was pitiful to behold.
Now PP has lost the match, the plot and the crowd - hopefully he will realise that NOW is the time to walk away.

Lua luas goal was ridiculously similar to his last week against Bournemouth, as were all their corners, (of which one they scored from) .. somethings not working, mainly Parky, he hasn't a clue .. but it's all fking depressing......

    Yawn.. i need a beverage :-(

its 422 am here and I cant f****** sleep...

    The girlfriend thinks Im mad......

actually im gonna turn this off..

Fingers crossed when i turn it on again we have Jose Mourinhio, new shiny arab trillionaires, and van de vart, sneider, messi and ronaldo in the car park ready to sign....

    night gents, I salute you!
  • I know it didn't go to plan this season, but I've always admired John Hughes - particuarly the work he did at Falkirk (where the circumstances were probably more relevant to what's happening with us than when he was at Hibs).

He's out of work, but only recentley so is still in touch with modern methods, no compensation, is used to working on a shoe string and wont cost much in terms of wages.

  • It's so easy to over complicate the situation and get emotional about it but really I think it comes down to coaching.I think that at this level coaching is massively important, we can't buy in instant talent. The fact that we are making the same mistakes week after week which would suggest that there is something wrong in the coaching set up. At the start of the season we couldn't control or pass the ball, and we still can't defend corners, organise ourselves in defence and going forward we have absolutely no idea what-so-ever. It's all down to the coaching, coaching which simply isn't being done effectively if at all. The responsibility for our current performance falls squarely on the shoulders of the manager, and so the management just isn't good enough.
  • Cant we offer curbs half the club.......

surely hed take 50% ... on a no win, no fee basis...

IE we show him the players, we ask him is it doing with bunch of crap, if he says yes we offer him 50% of the club, BUT only it if goes well, as in if it goes wrong he does have a penny to pay...

A total no brainer for him... a win win for him...could walk away with millions and cant lose anything, and we pay him as much as we can as well.. and we he gets to bang the entire boards wives and daughters....

    PLEASE COME BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HELP WE ARE DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THE CLUB IS DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now that ive got that out my system...

    night...

Are you saying other clubs have spent more than us?

A small smattering of Charlton supporters voiced their displeasure towards Parkinson towards the end of the game, and, quizzed by the press, the manager admitted: "It's not good, do you expect me to say it feels good? The fans booed and you can't blame them.”

Asked if we would consider resigning, he simply replied: "No. Any manager every week is under pressure. If you've been beated 4-0, I suppose you're going to feel more pressure than if you've won 4-0.”

    Small smattering?

That is being played down. That is the loudest calling for a managers head I have heard at the Valley since the end of the Sheff Utd game when Pardew eventually went.

From where I was sat there were alot of people in h & j bloack in the north upper giving Parky both barrells.
  • Do people honestly believe that Curbs would ever reconsider joining us? It's always mentioned and I have no idea if its serious or not.
  • Tryed to be fair with Parkinson, weve gone so far backwards as a club, i think he had a fair chance last year
I think need a new face in the club cant tell you who i want at the moment
i think its the end of the road to day go with your head held high parky, please just go
  • Pards did the decent thing after a 3-0 at home to Sheff U.

Amazing that RM rejected Poyet's manager application in the following weeks, for Parky.

Poyet has put a class side together with little or no money, and with a 30 something ex-Charlton player in midfield !

Yet another poor poor decision by RM.
  • Well im sure 99% of fans would love Curbs back and ill bet you any money Murrey would also love curbs back!

Pardew was sacked, he didn't resign (and we lost 5-2, not that it matters)

To be fair to Murray, no one knew how Poyet would do as manager. There are ex players out there who want to become managers, how do chairman know which are the good ones?
  • All i want is a manager who knows how to change sodding tactics when things aren't working. Today they weren't working and he didn't have a clue how to change things.

Brighton were well organised and their tactics worked. They didn't change their game plan at all throughout the game because they didn't have to. We didn't close them down, they were having an easy task of passing the ball around to each other. Why didn't parkinson work out how you stop that? We just looked like headless chickens out there. An appalling performance. Parkinson has said he won't quit, so he better learn to manage and coach properly otherwise he will get more reactions like today from the crowd. The fans have been patient in my opinion this season. But today was so simple for Brighton, the players know they played badly, lets see how they react next week.
  • Manger who can change their tactics during the game- Paul Lambert did it lots of time last year and showing what a good manager he is with norwich
  • Just had a call from some of ours who were there and they said "not going into the Valley again till parkinson goes", Didnt go today still naffed off with the non show at Brentford ----------------------have you all forgotten how bad we were there ? will go to the Owls game --only because there is a function after wards.

We are in a dark place and i cant see any light ----we aint even in the tunnel let alone at the end of it.

you can add me into that one gh i really feel that way. i am going to spend more saturdays doing my coaching badges as i got tonked by leyton orient today and that hurt me more than losing this one.

It's a bit like moving the deckchairs around on the Titanic isn't it. As bad as we were today I've seen us be a lot worse. I love these people who all of a sudden decide that this moment, of all the crap moments we've had over the last 4 years, is the moment that they are never going to watch Charlton ever again.

well i am one of them and i have seen us for 30 years i aint and can never be called fairweather.

i just cant see why we are sticking with parkinson and until he is gone i wont go back he should never have got the job he shouldnt be here so i wont
  • Really alot worse ? when was this then ? when have we been this bad in the last 40 years ? mid table in the old 3rd division about 1974--possibly. But a lot worse NEVER.

The people on the phone 2 me have been going decades-----so its no f**kin snap descision to just stop. There is only so much mind numbing boring--painfull---humiliation you can take---and we pay for it !! before you just stop.

Sorry, I was a bit flippant there. I'm all in favour for people voting with their feet, I'd rather that than booing. For the record I also think we need a new coaching team.

I'm the same as Clem, in that despite opposing his appointment at the time as defying all logic, I haven't since called for Parky's head. Until now.

We hadn't got a clue on the pitch today - and it was clear from Parky's post-match comments that he hasn't got a clue what to do about it.

Biggest call of Richard Murray's stewardship over the next two weeks. After that, it's going to be too late.

And after today, can we finally kill the bizarre and inexplicable theory mooted by a number of CL posters who really should know better that our decline is somehow the fans' fault?

I give you Parky's own words (hopefully his departing ones) on the matter :

''The fans booed and you can't blame them.”
