The FA may be idiots and the rules stupid. But whether you think our Phil was in the right or not to suggest the ref was Carlisle's best player, it's hard to sustain the claim that he has somehow been victimised and that the ''big boys'' always get away with it.
Wenger has had a touchline ban this season, I believe, and Ferguson got one last season when he infamously questioned Alan Wiley's fitness.
Good to hear Charlton fans sticking up for our man, though.
If PP has been as hard done by as some clearly believe, does he have a right of appeal? If so, presumbaly he intends to exercise it. Although given what he said and the way the comments were reported ''straight'' on our own official site, I doubt the ''out of context/it was a joke'' defence is going to get him very far.
I honestly think they should be able to say whatever they want. Why are the FA so precious about refs. If managers want to publically question decisions then let them get on with it. The media does it endlessly anyway, so why worry.

Good point, Incorruptible.
I've not seen Parky's "crime" reported anywhere else except on our own OS or sourced directly from it.
Which seems to indicate exactly where the FA picked up his comments ....... an FA employee reading through Parkinson's comments on our own official website.
Maybe, our own website should be more selective in what they publish?
[cite]Posted By: Simon E[/cite]Were Parky's comments any worse than Redknapp's were at the weekend? Not really. Redknapp was let off without a charge when he was clearly wrong.
The FA's so called fairness stinks for smaller clubs.
Redknapp said the ref made a mistake, parkinson said the ref was biased and effectivly called him a cheat, so yes, it probably is worse.
Parkinson wasn't "telling the truth" he was giving his opinion. Whether he was right or not or whether he was saying it tongue in cheek is illrelevent.
No matter what spin you try to put on it, he's a professional football manager and to say to the press that a ref has been biased and not expect something to be made of it, is at best naive and at worst, just plain stupid.
Do you like adverse comments about how you do your work?
The standard of referees in League 1 has not been good in the games I've seen this season but you have to get on with it. Over the course of the season things tend to even out.
Refs are assessed and managers submit reports. That is the system.
