As a defender of Parkie, I am dissapointed in his reaction to the whole affair, his actions mean that he will be unable to manage the team for 2 1/2 games, when he should have used the incident to motivate the players to comeout in the second half and stick it up the ref.
yes he was emotional but his job is to check his emotions and the players emotions duringthe game, especially when you have a duffer for a referee who is likely to use any possibility to show off his power.
The ref should be banned himself for 2 games, he caused the whole thing in the first place. In fact every ref in this league so far should be banned, most of them indefinately.
The refs need to take a look at themselves and the FA should be pointing out to them the reason why they officiate in the 3rd tier is cos theyre crap refs suited for mainly crap football....we will have the last laugh when the mighty Charlton will rise from the ashes and leave this god forsaken place one day soon whilst the refs will rot here forever more.
Parky is responsible and accountable for his actions, not the referee. The problem is that referees are not accountable for their actions. Bit unhappy with Parky on this one, but it should please those who wanted a manger with 'passion'.

Definate plus point for Parky I think, it shows he cares.
What you may find now is that the whole thing has the effect where for the first time you may hear the Charlton fans chant his name from the stands which may help the team.
The referee should also be accountable for his actions, if not then its 50/50 and nobody should be punished
Touchline bans are a waste of time anyway. So he has to sit in the stand and use his mobile, big deal. It might even prove useful, giving him a different view of his players.
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]If we win v Brentford = proves Parky poor on bench/doesn't motivate the players/sack PP and promote Breaker and Kins
if we lose v Brentford = Parky's fault
First observation was that without Parky on the bench for the 2nd half v Daggers we didnt have a clue after dominating the first half.

also agree with lawrie abrahams touchline bans no longer are that big a deal, one manager said the other day may have been wenger that its about 5% on the day the rest of the week has been used to build up to it and the manager can still put there point accross by chatting on the phone

True but similar has happened in other games when he has been there 2nd half. Wasn't there myself but Tranmere away I believe.

Yeah but they're not sticking up for the big clubs cos when a ref comes to The Valley to ref a game Charlton are the big club, its the complete opposite
Sheff Wed will be the only club to come to The Valley this season who could be considered the bigger club, lets see what happens that day

Totally agree with that.
I'd be interested to to know what would happen if someone picks up a second yellow or a red for dissent on saturday and gets sent off. How would Parkinson deal with that given that he's hardly in a position to give them a bollocking for it!
i agree with choice in this division we are seen as one of the "Big 3" along with Sheff Wed and Souhampton. It seems like officials are coming here determined not to be seen as "homers" - perhaps its time Parky started playing mind games prior to the matches a la Ferguson / Wenger!

I know Peter Varney used some of the reports in his programme article once (in the Dowie era) and got his wrist slapped by the FAPL.
Sh*t refs just get away with it as well.

Plus he'll be in contact with the bench tomorrow anyway making decisions so not as if he won't be there.
Still every game this season which I've seen the ref's have been awful so many wrong decisions.

Will have to watch and see where he is refing this week.

so gone up a league. Great!

Anyone know the bloke that Parky had a row with?
It was an impressive performance, to be fair. He found previously undiscovered fouls.
I'm not sure whether to punt on Reading (because he's not a homer) or Preston (because Reading are the 'big club' in the Premier League recently)
Doing Chesterfield v Crewe, lol!
Didn't ref during the week either.
Players should still be able to hear and see him at MK Stadium, can't imagine much of a crowd.
1,500 at best i would think judging by their away support on tues and that its on tv
250 charlton fans would be a good turnout
