I think the Redknapp point is a valid one. Will he get a fine from the FA? I doubt it. Football is becoming such a dissapointment, I dread to think of what its going to be like in 10 years time.
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]Now, whether you like Parky or not, you have to admit that he needs to think before he speaks. This isn't the first time is it. If he gets a two or three match ban how exactly does that help the team? And what example does it set to his players, especially the younger ones. Needs to learn some self-discipline or RM needs to start fining him.
I should think it's only a mater of time before all these fines start to eat into Mrs P's housekeeping budget. I suspect that'll be when it get nipped in the bud!

Oh, come on, Large.
During the Carlisle post-match interview, Parky has been asked a question by a journalist and he's responded by saying:
"He's a referee who I normally like, but I thought he was their best player for 20 minutes today.
"In the second half he gave them every single decision, every single free-kick, but sometimes you have to contend with that away from home.”
What is Parky supposed to say, something like, "No comment" and walk away.....?
This is no hot tempered shouting abuse at an official to his face, over which Parky was rightly censured after the Daggers match.
Post-match interviews take place straight after the match, and emotions are running high.
Parky, like you and everyone else, is only human - and his "crime" is speaking with honesty.
[cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]That's ridiculous. He was only telling the truth - that ref at Carlisle was awful. FA on a witch-hunt,
Spot on, Weegie ....... the FA want to punish Parky for telling the truth.
deff needs the harry response - f you FA no more interviews from now on
I should imagine mr murry will not let parky do any post match stuff anymore, its gonna cost him a fortune in fines!! just official charlton statements later that evening
I think that breakeer was fined £1,000 after he was sent to the stands during the JPT Daggers game, although I am advised that he did call an official the c word, although that is not Breakers version.

Is that really worthy of a misconduct charge?[/quote]
He has questioned the integrity of the ref and accused him of bias so yes, that probably is worthy of a misconduct charge. At least Redknapp had the sense to say the ref made a mistake rather than accusing him of cheating!
Whether he was right, or whether the ref was crap doesn't come into it, parkinson should know better than to come out and make a statement like that.
ridiculous whats he ment to do lie and say yeah the ref was super if that was someone like Arsène Wenger or Alex Ferguson do you think they would get disciplined i wouldnt think not its ridiculour

[cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]hehe, I'm loving Large's attempt to turn this into another dig at Phil
I wasn't though. I just think that he knows what will happen if he speaks out of turn about ref's and yet continues to do it. Now, for example, if Waggy got booked Saturday for calling the ref a rude word he'd get a Club fine I'd imagine. If he does it again likewise. How though can Parky tell him to button it without looking a total hypocrite. Just show some restraint Parky. And if you (not you specifically Rothko) think the sun shines out of his arse so much that you can't see this then more fool you.
I wouldn't think there was any question PP will pay the fines out of his own pocket but it's the bans I'm more worried about... by all accounts we were a shambles at Brentford and for the first half at MK.
Parky was wrong in making the comments no matter how bad the ref was. But it's the double standards that get me. Rednapp has joined the golden elite with Ferie and Wenger who can so no wrong

I'm not convinced the touchline bans make that much difference. 95% of the work Parky does is Monday to Friday. He'll be in the stands and if he wants a specific message passed to the players you can bet someone on the bench will be contactable by mobile phone. If needs be he can sit next to Richard Murray and he can call Kins or someone on Parky's behalf - toss all anyone can do to stop that happening. PP will still be allowed into the dressing room too.
Without wishing to put ideas into the FA's head - banning him from the match althogether or from the training ground for a week or something would be more effective, although hard to police.
[cite]Posted By: Chris_from_Sidcup[/cite]Surely now he'll just refuse to do any interviews after the games?
Which means, I guess, that some people won't be able to pick apart his every word and twist it into whatever agenda they want to attack him for.
eg. He asked the fans to make the Valley a hostile place for Sheff Wednesday. That was twisted into him blaming the fans for bad results... Then, after the match, he thanked the fans for their support and atmosphere, but no comment from the people on here.
Maybe it'd be a good thing if he just didn't give interviews. Then people could only complain that he's hiding from the fans and the media...

[cite]Posted By: Dazzler21[/cite]Funny how all the same people always pop up to slate parky after a loss have popped up here yet none appear after wins.
[cite]Parkinson also managed to crack a joke about today’s charge, adding[/cite]Obviously I should threaten to not do any more press conferences but I don’t think that will have quite the sway that Harry Redknapp had in saying that
Comments
But, I think its time for Phil Parkinson to refuse press statements immediately after a game from now on.
* delete according to whichever is best stick to hit him with this week
if I were him I'd fight this one all the way and highlight Redknapps comments as back up
I agree the so called bigger clubs get away with far more!
Nah, I like it... Im with you Parky...
Next time just deck the c***!
Seems a bit of a petty charge to me, though.

Probably what he's going to have to do from now on.
I imagine he'll get a £1-2k and another ban now, probably for 3 games.
I think Parky is going to have to stick to Y, N, N/C interviews now.
Saint Redknapp's let off is an absolute joke, i've never heard of such a retreat, all because he threatened not to speak to the press. Laughable.
Yeah, more fines is just what we need....
Just shut up large
