it seems pointless in slagging Parky off no matter what happens. We havnt got the cash to get a new man in ---end of. I dont think this guy has a cat in hells chance of geting us out of this league.
as for the we are only 3/4/5/15/25/63 points off the top of the table wow already we are saying that.
Goonerhater - we are already saying we are only 3/4/5... pts off the top of the table because the season has only just started - let's not write off our chances just yet.
We've had an alright start to the season. Not as great as last season's, but not a completely crap start either.
As for the game today, the commentary sounded like we were poor. I'm not too sure about Mac and Semedo together. When we are at home especially I think we need one of the centre midfield to push forward and create a bit. These two are battlers who are better at winning the ball than playing a killer pass.
[cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]Who has said he is better than Curbs?
Think Murray said something similar to this at the EGM. Something along the lines of he's the easiest manager that he's had to work alongside because he's the most hardworking. Don't think he actually said he's better than Curbs, just pointed out the reasons why he prefers working with Parky to any other CAFC manager that he's worked with in the past.
I am with Nth London Addick here. There is a strategy and formation to suit the team and players available. I just wish Parkinson could actually find it.

waheyyyyyyyy some one who agrees with me the master
we were utterly terrible today, the worst performance apart from perhaps the northwich game that i have seen from a parkinson team. abbott was absolutely shocking and is still yet to have a decent game; largely anonymous and on the rare occasions he touched the ball he gave it away. francis too was bad, his distribution was poor, none of his crosses cleared the first man and he was getting skimmed by scott golbourne who is not exactly the quickest. i did think fry was probably one of our best players, he looks more comfortable than jackson does at left back, made a couple of excellent tackles in the first half, faded a bit in the second half after his booking. would have loved to have seen jackson and semedo in midfield from the start, mccormack was largely anonymous and offers us no creativity. will be interesting to see the penalty, was at completely the opposite end of the ground from where we all were so havnt got a clue what it was for. also wud like to see our disallowed goal, ref seemed to indicate it was for handball?! not sure bout that. overall very poor though, and the lack of creativity is lamentable hope akpo is ok too, didnt look great at the end
Good to see we are keeping up with the ritual of getting in strikers who can't score. Is the club cursed or something??? Have we had our fair share in Hales, Hunt and Clive? Know it is only five games in but starting to worry about lack of quality in midfield, chances created and some players treating the ball like the proverbial hot potato.
I'm sure the club apologists will be out saying how close we were to getting a point but is that really how low we've gone to being grateful to nearly get a point at exeter ffs
Are the players as good as we thought/ hoped ... Maybe not ... Do charlton continue to get players to under perform , only massively ..... Bad times
Anyway I see us 0% automatic promotion 25% play offs and 75% outside playoffs and another embarrassing season to add to the ever growing collection :-(
Parkinson won't bring back Solly. As soon as the youngsters start playing well, He drops them. The decisions to drop Solly & Waggy have been laughable!
I didn't go so can't really comment, be interesting to hear what those there have to say. Seems worrying if we are struggling to create any chances against teams like Exeter, who (no disrespect) are unlikely to be in the top half at the end of the season.
After a promising pre-season signings wise I am getting that sinking feeling again about Parky's tactis. I just think he gets out thought by most managers in this league and does not seem to inspire the players to perform.
Still early days yet, a relatively new bunch of players and lots of games to go...
No service to the strikers today, its hard to score when you don't get given the ball. Benson worked hard up front, but he's blinkered. chose the wrong option 2 or 3 times. Abbot was anonymous.
Dazzler, I think you need a quicker centre back than Llera to play that formation. There is also a chance of the midfield being overun. With a quicker centre back than Llera it may work.

Judging by the commentary we were outworked in midfield so they were able to regularly put the back 4 under pressure. When we had possession the midfield didn't support the front two.
Strikers (unless they are like Lisbie) need service, ours all do anyway. A back 4 needs some support and protection from midfield.
OK how do we resolve it given our current squad? I would play Jackson in the middle with Semedo as Fry seemed to do ok at left back today. Jacko can put a foot in and doesn't go missing like Racon and also has the ability to pick a pass and offer a little bit of creativity. Semedo can then do what he does best and sit in front of the back 4. So:
Elliot
Francis /Solly (dependent on fitness) Llera (Dailly will be out for some time almost certainly. Fortune if he can get fit enough) Doherty Fry (in the absence of Claude Raines aka Kelly Youga)
Martin Semedo Jackson Reid
Abbott Benson
Subs:
Worner Fortune Wagstaff Racon Mc Cormack Anyinsah Sodje
I would put Parkinson in the average to mediocre category. Good at putting a team together on a shoe string but mediocre at player and formation selection, average to mediocre tactically and strategically.

Solly has been injured recently, notice he wasn't on the bench today while two unfit players in Anyinsah and Fortune were.
