Right not read anyone else's views but my take on todays game;
We were pretty poor, and if we play like that at home we will not finish anywhere near the playoffs. However we were missin our spine, and two best players (dailey & Semedo).
Problems started from the back not having daily passing the ball out, so we were left with liability llera hoofing it out of play or aimless punts up field, more than often conceding play straight away. How the hell francis is in ahead of solly is beyond me, he looks a very poor player, who also likes the aimlessly hoof ball up field. Jackson is not a LB, ok to use in an emergency but if Youga is gonna be out most of this season then we need a recognised LB on loan, borrowdale again??
Not quite sure what racon offers, other than the odd good half he's not consistant enough and doesnt release the ball early enough. Thought waggy had an alrght game and reid and martin showed glimses, waggy and reid seemed our only genuine goal threat.
Nothing really came off for abott, and i feel at home we need to play with two out and out strikers rather than martin tucked behind, away from home completely diff story.
Was impressed with Oldhams aproach play but for all their possession they didnt really threat the goal much but did fully deserve the point, maybe on balance of play deserved a little more. Very very petulant team thou can see them gettin alot of cards, cant believe the reff let so many of them off.
Reff and linos were as usual useless, cant remeber a ref taking so long to get play started again after blowing up, from where i was sitting, both lino's looked to make some awful offside decisions and take so so so long to flag them.
looks like a foul throw before the Oldham goal... not that we're that picky to have a go about that are we? thought that Parky has massively over-reacted to the guy that kicked the ball at the bench. "what if it had hit a girl or lady in the crowd". Made it sound as if he'd absolutely belted it at him!

Must admit i thought the kicking of the ball was going to be much worse. I was in the east so didn't really see it but it seems it wasn't really even very high off the floor and certainly wasn't dangerous

I'm not being funny but lets face it these people are at a football ground and can be hit with a football at anytime, they are not sitting in costa coffee. If you go and watch a match over the park you can get hit with a ball. Its the nature of the game. People kick balls sometimes they dont go where you want. I always duck for cover when Llera kicks it. I just think a lot is being made at someone showing frustration.
I'm not an afficionadao of rugby but thought Oldham deserved the point. What bothers me is that, right at the beginning of the season, they've shown other teams how to beat us and they exposed our frailties. We didn't have the squad to cover Plan A, let only a choice for change to Plan B. I'm not sure that the return of Semedo and Dailly is going to be enough, but I'll try to dredge up some optimism during the week.
Thought oldham would come to the valley and sit back just as they did last year but after the first ten i knew that wasn't going to happen and it looked like the team thought the same. I thought that we didn't deserve the win but we played ok for some periods. We definitely missed daily. I thought the sending off was right it was definitely a second yellow. he was all over our players all game and enough was enough. I think he deserves a decent ban for his little outburst after, was surprised parky didn't come up and lamp him.
Did anybody else notice the worst pitch invasion ever after the final whistle.
I don't understand why oldham are getting stick. They deserved to win if anything. Their keeper had nothing to do and Robbie made two blinding saves - and they hit the post, twice I think.
Was an entertaining game I thought. We're suspect at the back and missed Semedo in the middle. But Reid was v good, Waggy's goals to games record is exceptional for a midfielder and Martin showed some good touches. Not sure about Abbott. Doesn't look better than Sodje. But the team has a good balance and they play football.
I agree Solly looks a better defender than Francis but am not writing Francis off after 2 games. If we can keep our first XI on the park often enough we should be in the shake up, and so might Oldham. Was impressed with them, unlike last season.
Oldham had the better chances and look a decent side. some of the comments ignoring this fact make you wonder if some people on here really understand what is happening on the pitch.
The positive thing is we came out of it with a point and we are still work in progress whilst Oldham are probably the finished article and unlikely to add too their squad.

Not many people are denying that we didnt deserve the win its just the way they went about it.
Their number 6 was all over martin and abbot all game im sure they're tactics were just get all over our players and wind em up which seemed to work. they're a dirty team and that's the only reason they created chances

No they created chances by crisp passing and good movement that opened up our weak defence.

say aye to that brother we were opened up too easily at times good job Chritian and Jose are back next week
Oldham are a good league 1 side and will be top 9 or better come the end of the season. They deserved at least a draw because they worked our keeper and hit the woodwork. I don't remember Brill making a save worthy of the name in the second half. We got very few crosses in either. I couldn't help thinking a little trickery from Lloyd Sam might just have provided the key to unlock Oldham in the second half as we seemed to lack imagination and creativity. (Dons tin hat!!).
Our defence is one paced but I put the blame on the midfield for exposing it so much. Racon disappeared in Ambrose/Holland fashion for long periods and the occasional piece of flashy yellow booted footwork every 15 minutes or so does not cut it as far as I am concerned. I am desperate for Youga to return so Jacko can play in midfield and give us the creativity we lack.
Success in this league is built on consistency of performance. Racon does not offer that I'm afraid as we saw last season too. We lost the chance of seeing Jonjo through trying to accommodate Racon. We musn't make the same mistake again.
The only reason that game was a draw was because the referee was happy to give us free kicks for shirt pulling/wrestling anywhere on the park except in their penalty box - particularly the 2nd half.
The linesman on the East stand side saw, clearly, four occaisions when Abott and Martin where held back physically by the two centre halfs, yet deemed these were not infringements. He had obviously been told by the ref pre match, "just flag for offsides and out of play and I'll do the rest".
It's so galling when you watch MoTD and the Football League show in the evening and see five penalties given for far less an infringement.
Still, we shouldn't expect any less from a Dickov side.
cant believe some of the comments about oldham , i thought they played extremely well , that big black striker they had should have had a hat-trick. They hit the post twice , had one cleared off the line , had one hsot that would have gone in if it wasnt for a super save from elliot , and overall looked a good side , wouldnt be surprised to see them up there at the end of the season.
Where were you sat Scoh? Must have been very close to me cos I saw this too at half time.
Block N, around row J I think. Don't usually sit there.
Block N Row J is where my season ticket is, if you were sat next to a bloke with cap and beard then that was my Dad, I was the tall guy next to him.
I think I might have been near you then. Were you getting frustrated at Francis giving the ball away (amongst other things)

Was kind of thinking that myself but didn't bother mentioning it. Parky I'm sure wants another winger in, ideally we probably need someone who looks to pick out a cross or pass, rather than another direct player looking to get in behind.
I'd like Youga back mainly to give us that full back that drives up the pitch. Jackson isn't that type of player and Francis doesn't seem to be either at the moment. Youga and Richardson offered that.

Did anyone else notice when parky was walking off past the west stand somebody oldish, beard, red top said something to parky as he walked past, parky carried on walking and kept giving glances back. What was all that about? I was in the north west quadrant.
