The official Charlton twitter feed said on Saturday that he hadn't been recalled by Ipswich. That's not to say he hasn't been by now, but as of Saturday whatever reason he didn't play it wasn't because he'd be recalled.
I agree - he's been a bit of a let down. Would like to see what he does under CP though, given that we're now going to be supposedly playing attacking, pressing football on the floor (according to Slater yesterday!)
[cite]Posted By: Plaaayer[/cite]He reminds me of Ambrose when he played for us. So frustrating!
Probably less end product than Ambrose!
How's life away from the 4th Floor of RSHE?
More work rate than Ambrose though, by about 10000%.
Someone, sometime will get a good season out of Martin when it all just clicks for him - like Palace & Warnock did with Ambrose last season. It'll take the right set of circumstances though and maybe a few more years of playing regularly at a team that will let him make mistakes and learn to when to pass and when to dribble.
I think he'll be a late bloomer in terms of first team football. If we keep him there will be two or three games where he wins us points, but he won't be a massive miss if he goes back to Ipswich.
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]sorry ignore me, the invoices are sat right here... yes we did.
Can we "transfer" it to Ecclestone ?
Think we've only got him for a month initially and he was signed before Powell took over, even before he was interviewed (signed on Wednesday, Powell interviewed on Thursday I think) so no guarantee he'll be staying. I'd hold out until next week when the loan signings have arrived - go for Robbie Keane or Beckham. ; - )
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]Nothing will be done until the transfer window is shut as we don't know who's going out still and don't think we should be doing loanees.
No loss, was not a fan of Martin at all. One or two good games at most and quite frankly no surprise he has not settled or stayed at a club longer than a season.
If he kept things simple more and stopped thinking he was Ronaldo with pointless and ambitious flicks/tricks he may have been more productive. Not sure of the stats but it seemed as though he gave the ball away far too many times.
Also needs to cut out the attitude and cheating- stupid bookings and far too many occassions when he would fall over with very minimal contact or try and play for a foul.

Surely would've been on OS? Wouldn't be bothered if he did go back....needs to do the basics well/right before all the fancy flicks 'n' tricks.
Really never knew Peacock was gay well you learn something new everyday

All the best to Lee Martin. Been a ledge!!
I assume Lee is off then!
Excellent skill, hard working, just didn't apply it at the right time.
At least I can say I saw all his league goals for Charlton. One more loan space for CP to fill now.

Hmmm...get on to the Club and make sure we're first on the list for any new signings in that case...
(We may even need two options if Abbott goes too...)

Definitely need another option at right midfield now.
He might "see the light" and sign Full-time !
(or not).
