Well we've taken other highly paid, high profile left wingers in on loan in the last few years who never saw too much action on that little patch of grass !
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]According to an interview with him, he says his best position is wide left.
Which is probably where our best player is.
Going to reserve judgement on this till I've seen him a handful of times. I can't at the moment work out where he is going to play
Thinking the same myself. Seems he is right footed though, so should be able to play on the right. Then again he's been given number 10, so is Parky thinking he can play as the deeper striker?
I think he's got a good touch, wants to play football, but a little lightweight and over elaborate at times when a simpler ball would have kept possession - however, he looks like he can play a bit - the defenders in division 3 will try to kick lumps out of him!

There was a lot of space around so can see why a youngster might sometimes over elaborate rather than play it simple. In short he provided us exactly what we need up the top as sodje looked to have really tired.
Looks like he'll offer something a bit different to our other wingers and strikers. Be interesting to see where we use him. Hopefully he has an end product to go with the tricks. I think he will at this level.
very skillful looked like he is lacking match fitness but very pleased with signing still. agree did some silly long balls but did seem to show for the ball and kept hold of it well
I didn't want to say anything before the game but I had been told by an Ipswich fan that Martin was Keane's worst buy (and he's made a few). Poor touch and light weight being the main issues. The fact that Keane has let him go on a season long loan suggests that Roy has some doubts himself.
Hopefully today's cameo will be a sign of things to come and he will prove Ipswich and Keane wrong.
Not sure he could have got anywhere near the first team at N
Man Utd with a poor first touch. I suspect he will enthral and frustrate in equal measure. Keane is a knob.

I believe he's 23 now and that we are his 8th Club. I think that the Ipswich fans felt that, given his age and the fact that they are rumoured to have paid £2m for him, he would be a regular. By all accounts he did play at the beginning of last season season for them but his form was woeful.
BUT he may well be a confidence player and with the right management could be special.
Keano has said he doesn't feature in his plans. Couldn't get a buyer so we've got him now. Hope it turns out for the best and he helps get us promoted and stays.
I asked the Man Utd FM researcher about him and here's what he said. I asked what he was like and if he played as a striker for them.
Rarely for us - in his last season for us he played behind the striker in pretty much a free role and looked the best I'd seen him, but can't recall him ever playing as a striker.
Has got loads of talent but is pretty lightweight, massively inconsistent and a bit weak mentally I think. Surprised he's struggled as much at Ipswich as he seems to have though. Seems like a good loan move for him.
Seems there's talent there but perhaps a big money move and Championship football was a big step up for him. Remember when we spent that sort of money on Varney, McLeod and Gray - we expected good performances pretty quickly and neither were they quite good enough or able to handle the expectations.
Get the feeling it won't be long until we see him play just off Abbott or Sodje in a free role. Would explain why he got the number 10 and we signed a winger in Bally Smart.
What I saw from him I liked could be decent for us, couldn't care who he supported as a kid as long as he does it for us in a red shirt then that's fine by me!

Does that mean we won't now be signing Luke Varney .......?
;o)
"Trequartista" someone has been playing FM! Or you are Italian.
Martin himself said the other day playing off a striker was his best position. Apparently that's where he played his best football when at Man Utd as well.

If he's hungry for a place in the side, and he hits form when he gets the chance ....I don't care where he plays or who he displaces.
Parky's problem - and a great one to have!
can he convert that into goals and assists? We shall see.
i reckon there are big things to come from this lad for us mark my words

Exciting player, have been impressed so far, but unsure what his best position is:
Right Wing
Left Wing
Second Striker/Trequartista
Forward
For me playing behind Abbott in a 4-4-1-1 is where he will excel.

You got me.
