[cite]Posted By: Danny Addick[/cite]Writing the squad out, I make it that we have a back up player for every position apart from the strikers:
Abbott Sodje
Reid (SMART) Racon (MCCORMACK) Semedo (STAVRINOU) Martin (WAGSTAFF)
Jackson (YOUGA) Doherty (LLERA) Dailly (FRY/MAMBO) Francis (SOLLY)
Elliot (WORNER)
I think it will be:
Semedo(McCormack)
Racon(Jackson)
Stavrinou won't get much of a sniff(maybe in the cups), if those guys stay fit.
If Youga does get back & into good form, then Jackson will be pressing for the attacking CM berth, alongside Semedo.
I think JJ could be more effective than Racon in that role, if he does get a shot there.
Apart from the strikers(obviously more recruitment to come), Parky has assembled what looks to be a very good side, & almost there squad. I have a funny feeling that we will be the dark horses, this season.
Can't wait for it to start now! :-D
[cite]Posted By: Valley11[/cite]Personally don't think Waggy should start as a first teamer this season. Martin on right and Reid on left looks pretty impressive for a Lge 1 team
i agree i dont think waggy is ready jus yet, maybe the odd start but mainly sub appearances for me
Think parky may have pulled a rabbit out of the hat with martin. Best signing all summer imo. I just hope he's got that forward tucked up his sleeve too.
don't know much about him but he obviously seems to have lost his way a bit since his big move to Ipswich so hopefully a change of scenary will do him good. Let's stop all this local lad bollox shall we. He was born in Taunton. I see already that he deserves his place in the team ahead of Waggy despite him never having kicked a ball for us and despite not many ever seeing him in action much. Why is it a lot of fans seem happy to write of Waggy, Solly, Basey etc as not being good enough but as soon as we sign an ex Man Utd player who left with a 2m price tag it's wahoo he must be the dog's. He may well turn out to be but for an attacking midfielder his stats are poor. Compare them to Waggy's. I know whose are the better.

Totally agree - Waggy deserves his place in the starting line up. lats face it , whenever he cam on last season he looked head over heals better the Lloyd " I cant be arsed" Sam,
If he's on the bench tomorrow and Martin is in his place on the pitch then he is entitled top be royally pissed off.
Obviously lost his way of late, but still a signing that pleases me. He's only had three clubs I think (and a lot of loans). I always thought loans might start popping up around now. Could be awsome. Only slight concern is the limited preperation a lot of our squad's had.
"I was born under the Covered End, the Charlton Covered End"
Certainly fits, as at 23, Mr. Martin is clearly a wandering star.
Jumping Marion Joseph, stunned a bit that there would be any negative reaction to this. This is now Parkinson's squad. He's built it, he's got his players in according to his plan, and there are, frankly, no more excuses. If things don't work out, it can't be hung on Dowie, can't be hung on Pards, can't be hung on the players. Bring on the season. COYR.

C'mon you Reds!
Martin has been given the number 10 shirt at the Valley and is set to make his debut in a home game against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Very true!
unfortunately this means waggy dropping to bench or off striker but looks like our team is coming together now and cant wait for tomorrow
I can see us using Martin in the old Shelvey Role with Waggy on the right in a 4-4-1-1 . Not sure who will be the main man up front though.

I just hope people don't expect everything to click tommorow, it's going to take time for this team to gel effectively.

"The highly-rated 23-year-old, who grew up in Bromley .......
"We're really pleased to get Lee in on a year's loan,” Parkinson told the official website on Friday evening.
"He's a tremendous young player and great acquisition for our squad, He can also play up front or in either wide position.
"What's more, all his family are in Bromley, so he's a local boy.”
I wouldn't believe Parky or the OS either, Large.
To paraphrase Henry, it's not true if it's on the OS.
;o)
"Oh, and McLeod was never a 2 million pound player, because Pardew bought him. He'd pay you a tenner for a packet of wotsits, that idiot."

Played and trained with the European champions of the time, and desperate to prove he is quality, no doubt..
We will see..
Looks good in my book, fingers crossed...
