Quote on SS news this morning from Neil Lennon saying he wants to make Celtic the biggest team in Scotland. Number one in a field of two, mmm... careful with those ambitions Neil, don't want to over reach yourself...
Not sure about this, they want Bullard apparantly and already have Brown (captain), a few other in CM and Simon Ferry who was on loan at Swindon and did very well, Ferry is reported to be closer to the first team now after impressing this season.
Therefore Bailey would struggle to play and would he fancy relocating his family to Glasgow.
Would want 1million plus a season long loan- maybe their winger McCourt who is quite handy and can play left or right.
I still think why would he want to go to celtic, yes he will be in european football but for how long probably a few games
as for 60k crowds, not always but fair point play infront of more fans so would be more pressure for him to perform so hardly going to make somone move to a pla ce
Scotland over England, dont think so
Championship is better then scottish football and even rangers & celtic would struggle to make play offs
i agree better for him then staying at Charlton, but any championship side reckon would have more chance of getting him then celtic or rangers
I reckon he will end up at narwich personally but we will see, say he is 90% definately gone
As it looks like he'll be off - and I think we have to sell him before he goes on a Bosman I don't mind where he ends up, as long as it isn't another L1 club.
I just hope he goes soon all this uncertainity is rubbish for the club we need to moove forward and plan and get our targets now.
Bailey was good for us not great he was an average captain and a good player in a poor team, when it counted he made a mistake and personally i feel that although there was no malice taht he let us down when we needed him most.
I hope we make a few quid and we invest the money in securing the future of the club not splashing it on players not worthy of the fee or wages.
if we are certain that bailey is going then a million would be more than expected. However if i had a choice i'd keep bailey as we are not going to sign anyone better or even of the same ability.

IMO the biggest problem has been fitting Bailey into the team - he doesn't compliment Semedo in the way that Racon does, he is positionally suspect, his 1st touch is not always the best; it's his drive and goals that are valuable.
And that's what other clubs are prepared to pay for.
its the bigger named players that invariably do let you down, i honestly believe that in shootouts they go into the situation more thinking about "what if i miss" than a another average player who is focusing on scoring i think thats what lets england down ultimately

Spot on there Oggy, and anything over a million would be good business for me, if nothing else it keeps the wolves from our door for a while longer.

Though we could try to sign someone who can pass the ball?
At least there seems to be plenty of interest, though that was kind of expected. Around £1m and I'd be pretty happy. Talk of much more than that is unrealistic IMO.
Once he goes I'll start worrying where the goals will come from.
Talk of £1000,000 is unrealistic, when the the sums mentioned for Daren Ambrose of championship side palace was£750,000 for example from QPR, and Daren is a far better player. So I would expect around £500,000 to 600,000 for Bailey with a good sell on clause.

Wow, it didn't take long for a plum to moan!
And this was in probably their worst season for a long time. If they were top and doing well i think you'd see crowds average easily over 50k.
right, think the Bullard deal is off. West Ham he's likely destination.
Especially when Scott Brown plays CM and he's the captain.
oh really, didnt know that. Thtat must have collapsed very recently then?
I'd settle for £1.5m total package. Depends how much is upfront and what the add ons are for of course.
And no one believes rumours, do they? We all know that the only time you can believe it is when you read it on the OS ; - )

Also David Hopkin
Ben Watson
& Beaker from the muppets!
I don't feel he really let us down ...... just he wasn't able to step up to the plate, when both he and the team needed.
But as you said NLA - he's generally been a good player in what often over the past 2 seasons has been an unbalanced, poor team.
Put him in a better team, and he could very well become a better player.
