[cite]Posted By: Weegie Addick[/cite]But, Phil, I don't disapprove of the fact that we are third and still in the thick of a promotion race with nine games to go.
Do you disapprove of the fact we haven't played well for weeks, won just 5 of our last 16 games and have failed to beat Orient, Tranmere, Brighton and Gillingham at home?

I don't particularly "disapprove", Chris - it's called football and we don't have a divine right to win week in, week out. I might be disappointed and frustrated, but it's not about disapproving. The last time we got promoted from this division we lost a good few games too (including v Millwall), and had patches when we didn't play well. but I don't remember any booing, or calls for the manager's head. We've become an impatient set of fans in an impatient world, and we probably deserve all we're going to get ie no promotion, the sale of any player we can get any money for and the further long-term decline of our club (unless it's a quicker route into oblivion via administration).

Surely we have a divine right to atleast see our players try?
I think they do try - they are just not consistent enough or not good enough. As said earlier on this thread (or one of the others on the same subject), even Sam and Mooney, who have taken a lot of the direct stick, do not hide. Liera alwasy gives 100%, as does Rob Elliott - doesn't stop them being liabilities at times. I'd rather support this lot in a Charlton shirt than the likes of Marcus Bent and Jerome Thomas any day.
we've been poor for weeks now (as have the majority of the other 'top' sides in our division), hence we're still there or thereabouts at the moment.
The Millwall game for me was just a step to far....they just gave up and it was embarrassing.
Personally I don't have a problem with people booing at half time and at full time - you pays your money so you are entitled to voice your opinion. Should we just clap the players off after another woeful performance?? (I think alot of saturday stemmed from Parky saying we'd see a response...), Similarly I don't have a problem with Mooney's goal celebration, although not sure it was the wisest move on his part given that the next game where he has a shocker and misses a couple of sitters (and I'm sure they'll be one)....he'll get more abuse than before!
At least we're still in with a shout at the moment, we really need to start putting together an unbeaten run so that we hit the play-offs (yes I'm convinced we'll be in them) in good form.
I know that most of my Millwall mates actually don't want to meet us in the play-offs as they know we are a better side than last week and they fear a backlash and us actually doing them when it really matters....strange eh !
Boo the f***ers. 2nd half at Millwall summed up the whole sorry lot of them. From top to bottom. They must understand that performance especially against THAT team must not be allowed to go unnoticed. " oh we must n't upset our poor boys" ! what bollocks, these sort of comments are way this club and it's fans are becoming a laughing stock. Get of your flabby middle class arses and vent thy spleen !

What does class have to do with whether people boo or not?
I think it's kind of interesting to observe Graysons recent reactions to the booing at Leeds compared to PP's. A manager who turns on his own fans (PP) is a drowning man.

Sam Allardyce also commented on his fans booing saying they didnt understand football after he got booed for going 1 up front against Chelsea.

Got a link for that?
Don't know how to do the link thing - It's on Sky sports videos (Grayson interview)

Football fans are weird.
Was that at Blackburn? Or Newcastle? (guessing it wasn't Bolton)

1. it's not only us that boo's
2. it's been going on a long while
3. some people think it's motivational
4. other people think the opposite
5. people who don't boo have fat 'arris's apparently.
6. mascot's in a really bad mood about it

Well it seems like everyone is doing it now!
Not just Leeds last night, but West Ham tonight. Sky cut very fast when the whistle went at h/t in their eagerness to get to the ads. But you could clearly hear the boos before they cut...
Most players and managers just seem to accept it and get on with upping their game in the second half. Suggest we do the same.

Not srange!
your trying to get the team to win promotion to spite the fans... worst example of reverse psychology ever...
When you have played football, you give your all, you come off dissapointed if you lose, but to be booed and to lose....
end of, if you cant handle it dont go...
and look in the mirror and think about this...
zzzzzzzzzz
start spitting at them for additional motivation...
or booing beofre the game kicks off, oh yeah we already do that, and you expect players to care... lol
Sadly, this wasnt the case for our team at Millwall, was it.

Glad we've cleared that up then ;-)
