[cite]Posted By: steveBHA[/cite]Now now lads lets play nicely and put things into perspective here. Some of you got well and truly above your station over your new manager.

Turned down by Howe.Bugger all chance of Poyet even though i pre-warned you.
    Final outcome--same as Palace

Listen mate jog off will you. You don't know our club and you don't know why most of us are more made up by Chris Powell coming in than Poyet, and Howe put together.

Exactly. That's why I started a thread titled Eddie Howe: thank **** he said no!!! But it could just as readily have said Poyet or anyone else, because we, the fans, have got our first choice.

Now on SSN, which under the new lot means more 'official' than the OS ever was, even in its heyday!
  • I can't see anything about it on SSN or BBC. Do you have linky things?
  • Must be true bookies turned down my money.....

CHEAP OPTION AND A UNTRIED MANAGER.

Maybe Charlton isn't an attractive club as you think you are? Just a thought.

This appointment will rule out any chance of a top 2 finish and i never get predictions wrong.

Anyway good luck with that one lads lol.

Chris Powell is universally loved and respected at Charlton.

It was an option we dare not hope for. With all due respect stuff Poyet and Howe. This appointment could bring back the old united Charlton that has sadly gone awol over the last 4 or 5 years.
  • Just heard the thickest sounding Charlton fan ever on Talksport saying he doesnt like chris powell being appointed and PP should still be there, someone decent ring in will ya!

Great quote from the mirror piece if true:
Gary Johnson, sacked by Peterborough this week and Brentford boss Andy Scott were both linked with the post made available after Phil Parkinson was sacked earlier this month.

But Powell is understood to have been Charlton’s no.1 target.
  • Ignore the Brighton troll, all related comments will be deleted later.

This is our thread, and this is our day !!

  • Ex-Palace. Sure you all still want him?
  • The man is a Charlton Legend. Can't think of many if any ex players i would want more to be running things at Charlton.

So hope he is successful for us if this does come to pass. The Fans love him and i hope will get right behind him no matter what.
  • Can see SteveBHA's point (stop bitting!), would prefer an experienced manager myself but if they were any good they won't be interested in a league 1 club! All appointments are a gamble, time will tell how this one goes.
  • im numb, off to get beer.

May not be back for sometime............

Bloody board, don't the know that smiling makes my face ache?
