The other Dartford player- Cody McDonald (not gibbs mentioned above) has barely played for Norwich this season, get the impression he is a bit like Dickson. Loads of pace but still has too many faults to be a regular at the top of League 1, certainly for now.
Dave Martin would be a terrific signing but: could we afford him? and doubt Milwall would sell to us?
[cite]Posted By: cafc_se7[/cite]Not sure how true it is, but a mate at uni today told me were after Jermaine Easter?Would love him at the Valley, good quality striker in this league!
DailyStar said yesterday we're gonna get him for £300,000.
Yeah, right..............

been saying we should try and get dave martin for ages as you said though doubt if we could afford him but he would solve a problem on the left.

So true. We've taken some beatings over the years and we've had some horrible cup exits, but in all my time supporting Charlton i don't think i've ever seen a performance as bad as that one. In terms of the 2 sides' status and what was at stake, it won't get worse than that.
Nothing to get excited about just goes to show how frustrated Sky must be getting in this transfer window. Matthew Spring happy to stay but thought his comments at the end of the interview were interesting:
"Hopefully, the lads will use it as a kick up the backside because maybe a few of the lads were coasting a little and the defeat could be a kick-start for the rest of the season."
Sky are practically salivating over the has been/never really was much Eidur Gudjonsen going to Spurs... the move, possibly gazumping West Ham has just been described as "sensational" on SSN
Skysports.com understands a number of clubs are chasing Rushden & Diamonds hot-shot Lee Tomlin.
Tomlin is regarded as one of the best young prospects outside the Football League after catching the eye at Rushden.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Leicester before joining Rushden in 2005 and his performances have attracted the likes of Liverpool in the past and he enjoyed a trial with the Merseysiders in 2006.
Scouts have been flocking to Nene Park to cast an eye over Tomlin, who has scored 11 goals this season.
Scottish giants Celtic, Championship outfit Watford and League One duo Charlton and Southampton are believed to be tracking Tomlin and could make a move for his services before the close of the transfer window.
Rushden are resigned to losing their prized asset and they are unlikely to stand in his way if the right offer comes along.
thing is soundas it really depends who you get I have been very impressed with Austin at Swindon and Morrison at Millwall, both are a lot better
than Dickson, who after backing him up has been toilet in the last 3 games he has come on in.
[cite]Posted By: SoundAsa£[/cite]Oh dear, not another unproven striker gamble...(if true of course)....haven't we learned our lesson.
You win some, you lose some.
I wonder what Swindon fans thought when they signed Austin from non league.

Also Beckford was non-league unproven & wasn't bailey? so its probably worth a gamble cant be that bad if had a trial at liverpool but you do wonder why in the last 3 years he hasnt been snapped up?

My calling him Cory Notgibbs was meant to be an attempt at humour, as I couldn't remember the players full name ..... (!)
Edit: Ah, I see I got the Cory bit wrong .... he's called Cody. Doh!
Why can't parents call their kids bloody David or Steven, or something.
What sort of bloody name is Cody, for Chrisakes......??? !!!
;o)

You think you've got problems but my son is in the same Tennis age group as this lad:

I know that Sri Lankans tend to have long names but I make that 30 characters in total.
Wow, we had a Nirojan Sivapathasundararajah at school which was pretty impressive. He quite fondly adopted the nickname "Nigel Smith"
