  • [cite]Posted By: mart77[/cite]Parky in his OS interview mentioned trying to offload some of our fringe players. I wonder who's on that list? Obviously Moo2 but is the likes Racon classed as a fringe player now?

I hope not, one injury to Bailey or a suspension and then what?
  • Christ imagine the indignity of being dumped by a club for Akpo Sodje. . . .you might as well pack up football and work at McDs.

Brings a new meaning to being a 'fringe player'
  • I hope Halliday ends up with the club. The fact that he is playing in a very low level of Scottish football is not his fault. Last season, as an 18 year-old, he played well with Livingston in the Scottish second division. The club is down because of financial screw-ups, not poor performance on the pitch.

As I reside in Maryland and have never set foot in Scotland, the only reason I care about this particular topic at all is that we responded to Livingston's financial problems by sponsoring the lad (not, however, his wages) and have been following his development as a player because of that tenuous connection. He has done enough up there to earn the hype he is receiving; I would hope that he is building on that in his time with us.

SPL and Premiership sides join chase to sign Livington starlet Andrew Halliday

    Dec 18 2009

CHARLTON are facing growing competition in their bid to land Livingston winger Andrew Halliday.

The League One side are to take the 18-year-old on trial next month with a view to a transfer.

But scouts from Sunderland, Wigan, West Ham, Fulham, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs were all at Livi's 7-1 Scottish Cup win over Clyde on Monday night.

Almondvale chief executive Ged Nixon said: "Other clubs are knocking on the door for Andrew now too."

Im guessing he is talking about the signing of Reid as it come out of nowhere!
  • Gary McSheffrey signed for Leeds. Brilliant signing it has to be said and unfortunately puts ours into perspective...

Yet again OS first with the news on Reid.

as someone once said "I'll believe it when I see it on the OS"

  • If Halliday is a triallist then maybe.

He can develop with us.I'm just pleased we now have Reid as a left sided option so it relieves the immediate pressure . I never viewed Holden as anything more than a prospect.

Now another Centre Half . Elliott Ward has been mentioned previously ?

    Striker Lets get Akpo back.

Then i would feel we would have depth and of course we could still use emergency loans
  • blimey, got all excited that we had finally got a left winger (albeit I had never heard of him), then see McSheffrey at Leeds...he will rip this division to pieces if he is fit.
  • agreed play off's at best ;-(
