He doesn't get judged solely on today's great win over MK Dons any more than he gets judged solely on the poor loss to Northwich Victoria six days ago.
Doug. Quite so. We have been consistently good. That is why we are second, outplayed Leeds and Norwich on their own grounds, and have just thrashed the team snapping at our heels.

When you are in a hole, mate, stop digging.
We outplayed Norwich on their own ground? Not this season we didn't.
We were very good yesterday and have been in some other games this season. We were poor at Carlisle, Northwich and Colchester and have been in at times in some other games this season. We have been mediocre on various occasions.
That doesn't amount to "consistently good" any more than it's a basis to sack the manager.
In this division, with our resources, we are about where we should be.
You mentioned to me elsewhere that you'd replied to this, so I'm replying back now.
If we had sacked Parky in close season as Doug demanded, and the new manager had come in and started with six straight wins, everybody would have been praising the Board to the heavens and calling it a miracle, and Doug et al would have been saying 'told you so' .
So lets give all concerned the credit for achieving the miracle for a fraction of the cost of bringing in a new manager.
Nearly every team plays badly sometimes. The ones that are consistent, in footballing terms, are the ones that head the league after a decent period of time. Leeds are more consistent than us, that is why they are top, but they have a settled team, they know this division, and with their resources they shouldn't be here at all. The rest are less consistent than we are. That is why we are second.
