    Oh yes ... superb
  • [cite]Posted By: Low_Ears[/cite]Big Country at Shepherds Bush tonight. Mike Peters from The alarm is the frontman. Will be interesting to see what they are like without the brilliant Stuart Adamson.

Almost 10 years since he died ... gone very quickly.

Remember seeing him with The Skids at the Electric Ballroom in Camden many years ago ... great guitarist then.

I reckon Mike Peters could be pretty good ... let us know.

[cite]Posted By: CAFCsayer[/cite]Anything by Ed Sheeran... Blokes a genius!

    This.

Go to the free gig the other night?

Which one?! He did 4 on the one day! No I was working, ironically I work in Camden so drove past the queues a few times, it was an amazing turn out. I've got tickets for his Scala gig on 7th July but I've just realised I already had tickets to see Death Cab for Cutie on the same night at Brixton! I'll have to decide which to do. He said he was playing Glasto but his name is not on the line up, hopefully he does.

Yeah, them 4! Really nice bloke... went clubing with him after! Definitely pick the scala gig - he's amazing live! Told me he's defo playing glasto though
  • Sugar - Copper Blue
  • Anna Calvi's self titled album. A slow burner but really intense. Awesome.

Oh, and I can barely wrestle "Them Crooked Vultures" out of the CD player. A lesson in ROCK!
  • Them Crooked Vultures is a good album for the first 6 songs, but loses it's way after that...
  • Idiots who use very obscene words in full voice with kids & women about in J block.
  • how dare you by 10cc, mighty fine album.
  • The Animal Years - Josh Ritter
  • Liking the new Foo Fighters, also Bubblebum - Mark Lanegan

    God shout.
Dug out mftjgenration the other day.Timeless!
  • New Model Army - Thunder and Consolation
  • Ian Brown - The World is Yours
  • Idlewild - The Remote Part
  • Stonemuse - tick, tick and tick. My Uncle used to manage New Model Army, and I got to have a play on their drumkit. NMA didn't have much "cool" currency at my primary school though :)

I might counter with Love of Hopless Causes, Music of the Spheres and Hope is Important
  • New Model Army are gods. Fact. Nailed On. etc etc etc....

Got some Wolfsbane CD's at a gig of theirs a couple of Saturdays ago, must play them soon.
Also, I picked up a 'Best of Anvil' CD- well worth a listen.

She died "25 years" ago ?
    Anyone told Charlie yet ?
  • Villagers - Becoming a Jackal
  • Blood Ceremony... in preperation for their gig this evening at the Borderline
  • House of Love - The House of Love
  • Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights

This album should mainly be listened to in the dark but its too sunny outside today.
  • Right now- Funkadelic - Maggot Brain. Shows my age - but what a guitarist....Album link
  • Now you're talking, cafc-west. George Clinton! Did you see Bootsy Collins on Jools Holland the other week?
  • Ah Mr Hawksmoor...we must be of similar ages and leanings on the music and literary fronts! (as well as CAFC of course). No I didn't see Bootsy Collins on Jools Holland - thought Clinton was amazing on that 1 track though and just realised that Maggot Brain was 1971 (40th birthday this year!)! (By the way have just got the Kerouac On the Road - Scroll edition) - so thanks for that!
