Is this from someone on here ? 22 Aug 2010 14:54:25 Football Transfer Rumours Alan Pardew is considering offering a contract to free agent Izale Mcleod. He had been with Southend on trial but has since been released after a contract was not offered, Pardew believes he could be the impact striker that has pace Saints need. David Connolly has been doing this but at his age he has lost pace.
You have to wonder with people like Shizzle, what they'll end up doing with their lives. He's basically made himself virtually unemployable in his 20s, the oaf.

Yet picked up many thousands of pounds a week for the last 3 years in the process.
Rest assured - he won't be drawing the dole any time soon
Whilst he was on thousands a week for a few years I bet he spunked a large amount of that up the wall thinking it would last forever. I bet he'll be having financial problems within the next few years if he doesn't get a job soon. And then his wife will leave him and take all the money he has left.
I don't know what's weirder falconwood finding that link or me reading it ..........
The thing that is repeated in the report is that he is raw and needs good coaching, we'll he couldn't have picked a worse club to come too , in the last few years we have become a graveyard to footballers careers ....
Not sure he has the ability or brain to turn it around now he has left but we certainly reversed his career momentum
Well done jonjo for getting out , you were only gonna go backwards being near our first team coaching
It's amazing isn't it how many players say they're six foot? I am six foot one and have seen Izale Mchmmm, close up on the pitch. He is not six foot one. Lisbie is better in the air than him, and Lisbie worries defender's when they have the ball better than him; Lisbie is said to be five foot ten. When we signed Mcleod I watched the youtube video and was intrigued by him.
He seemed to score many of his goals by breaking from just inside the oppositions half, with the whole defence playing a high line. When do you ever see that in champ football, and I ain't really seen it in league one yet. A vast majority of his other goals for MK Dons on youtube were just awful lower league goals where it ricocheted in the box and he managed to get on the end of it. Without pressure and having to think he seemed OK. I must admit I didn't know whether he'd be a success or not, but I wasn't impressed. Unlike Varney who was a great channel runner at both inside left and right, I can see no great asset that Mcleod has. It's not enough to run like forrest gump anymore, and forget the ball is behind you. The Tony Daley's and Jonny Ekstrom's of this world are behind us, and Mcleod was nowhere near as good as those mentioned.
As for Pleat the more you listen to his bizarre mastication of words, and rumbling saltiness on Radio 5 you do wonder. Clearly he can spot a player, but boy did he not have a clue with Mcleod. Pleaty may have made a mistake there, but he'll always be a far superior spotter to Pardew who unlike even Pleat can't vocalise his thoughts; probably because they're based on no discernible logic.

One thing a scout can never factor in is how much having some money in your pocket will effect an individuals ego or drive. Like Dickson, I thought McLeod allowed money to spoil a talent with potential.
Currently top scorer in League Two!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
He has 15 goals in the League and four in Cups, giving him 19 goals this season already, and scored their first today in a 2-0 win.
Clearly the bloke was nowhere near Championship level and struggles at L1 level but he can obviously do the business in L2.
He had numerous loan spells whilst with us and it looked like he was going to bomb out of the game but has done really well to resurrect his career at Barnet.
Definitely not worth what we paid for him, and it was a stupid signing for a club looking to be in the Premiership. But I thought he was slagged off unnecessarily; I thought he looked quite good in our first season in League 1, didn't he score the winner at home to Huddersfield? I think a lot of people had already made their mind up about him by then though,

Awful prick of a human being. Nothing to do with anyone prejudging him as a perspon. His performances for us were gash, because he is not a player with enough quality for the top end of league one.
Whenever I saw him play he was useless. Not good enough and lazy and not willing to go collect a loose ball only a few yards away from him.
In his first couple of appearances from the bench he was a real live wire. One of the many overpaid, expensive and selfish players we employed in that era.
He was absolutely dire for us in the main , yes flashes of ok ishness but the clown was so named because that's how he performed more often than not for us He may have improved since but make no mistake it was a painful experience to watch him in an addicks shirt as hard as that may have been for the everything is rosey in charlton land posse to accept , eventually it had to be accepted
Another in a long list of players who had decent form at other clubs only to see all signs of confidence and ability disappear under Pardew's managerial style.

Exactly. He's not a talentless player but he was totally devoid of confidence while with us.

Mcleod must be really poor these days. Maybe his attitude is apparent immediately too.

Most people would think of B&Q being a suitable place for a nail but Pardew seems to be looking elsewhere for the final one for his coffin

Is he still without a club?

Have to agree with all of that.

Still not worth 1.5 million though....:)

Hope so!
What I do blame him for was the amount of money he spent on him.
Here's hoping Smegson sees him as a decent signing....................................
