Cole told The Independent: "I can tell you that he [Sol] left Notts County because of what he perceived as unkept promises. He bought into the whole County project, he really did. He has now left County because he had been led to believe there would be major resources invested at Meadow Lane rapidly and obviously, not just in new players but in facilities and infrastructure. That has not happened."
Bloody hell, they've only had the club for 5 minutes. This statement from Cole's gotta be a windup or a getout for Campbell
Not sure about this one, sounds like a wind up. He only dropped to this level with County because they paid him stupid wages, I'd doubt his requirements have changed that much (although being based in London may be an advantage).
I don't remember seeing him play a game live last year, did anyone catch any of his matches on TV ? Was he any good ?
a signing like that will make us the envy of the league and hated just as much
remember our bitchy girly fans crying when soton signed all and sundry
i dont care what it takes lets get out of this poxy league
Completely different scenarios. It wasn't what they did but the way they did it. We can still do it with some moral high ground.
Dunno what to make of this if true, obviously he was quality and it would be surreal to see him in a Charlton shirt but at this time he's an unknown quantity. Hopefully still has some legs and drive to go with the brains.
As I posted in the rumours thread it is a bit like the John Barnes signing, same build anyway. Thing is I saw it on Twitter and @Addickted.net seem to have a good record on these things, so who knows. If he wants to play then it fits and he must know CP
That is the only place I have seen it, also just noticed he is two days older than me. Still a chance for me although I am only 5'11" and three quarters
Looking back Addickted.net Twitter also said Dailly was the first player to leave, we were set to buy a new keeper and that Powell was going to raid his old club Leicester.
They've been right some of the time, but you'd think giving a name they'd be quite confident about it.
Taylor, Campbell, Morrison and Doherty/Dailly wouldn't give us any real pace at centre back. Can we get away with that if we have good team around them?
I think we need to stop writing players off before they have signed!I think he could definitely do a job, just let SCP do his job!Im sure he wouldnt just sign Sol for the sake of it!!

LMAO........Well, thats's him buggered then. His brains went a while back. All we'd be signing is the name of a former england international. Might as well see if we can get Tony Adams at the same time..................Move on
Even at his age he will still demand a wage which will literally blow everyone elses out the water five fold, can't seeing it doing anyone any good. Rather spend the money on a young CB at league one level.
i do think we need a bit of experience through the spine of the team. Alonso in midfield gives us that...but who will at the back. i hope it isnt sol campbell to be honest.
didnt some question if dailly was past it when we signed him? went on to be one of the best signings we had made in years. if his head is right and hes up for rochdale away on a cold wet night in december then bring him on. Is sky andrews powells agent too?
I wouldn't be so flippant in just throwing the big wages argument around. Is be more concerned on his ability to stay fit.
Our new owners have shown a fair bit of shrewdness so far so I don't think they would start throwing big wages around to a player with no resale value. Either it would be within budget or on a pay and play deal.
Not only did Powell play with him, I'm sure Jimenez was at Newcastle when Sol was there.

how old is he now? 34?, would definately do a job I suspect alongside a younger more mobile CH
yss, he is over 6.1 wide, not sure how tall he is though
Can't see it happening myself but lets wait and see.

Could this be the " big surprise this summer " that some have heard of ?
In the words of Manuel, I know nothing but the owners may have saved this BIG one 'til last ......
The first of CL's shirt sponsorships ?
