  • I've heard charlton could sign Luke Holden!
  • Wade small has signed for colchester on a 2 year deal?
  • Was passed on some info that we had someone looking at benson at dag and redbridge average over 15 goals last few seasons, an ex collegue is a daggers fan said he saw charlton tracksuit in the directors area last home game someone was sat near him and saw his notes were on benson. But then again could be bull.
  • Bouazza to Blackpool so I heard
  • whispers going around this morning that shelvey is up north, in talks with an unknown club:(

    I think it was Chesterfield.
  • Rumours of Holden and Mcenzie, but nothing on the central defence ... which is a worry.

    Darren Purse?
  • Abu Bakr (Trinidad CH) said to be signing for Swansea but was on trial with us according to T & T paper.
  • [cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]T & T paper.
Heard that paper is quite explosive?
  • I've heard McKenzie and Sodje arriving and Dickson and Fleetwood going. Not heard anything on Holden.

    Source?

Wouldn't be heartbroken by that but concerned over fitness of Sodje and McKenzie.
  • [cite]Posted By: CH4RLTON[/cite]shelvey is up north, in talks with an unknown club:(

well he's got less than 8 hours to work out who they are, maybe he is playing 20 qustions with them.

    Couldnt possibly reveal my source.

I would have thought given that we appear to be potless and these will only be cover it is the sort of signings we should expect.
  • McKenzie was one i picked out in the summer. Wasn't aware he has been a bit injury prone, but he is a 'box striker', which is what is lacking (given that Dickson is not seen by management to be that person).

Would mean if the above is true, 3 strikers out in a week, replaced by one.

Sodje would seem a good fit, but i think we would then have 3 centre halves who i would not be certain would remain injury free. Llera seems to be in the wars every week, and we have to be realistic about Dailly's age.

Had hoped we could do more to be honest, but i suppose finances dictate.

Sodje would be very good in this league, Leon is one of those players I have seen play for other clubs and thought very little of (but I am sure he will erase my doubts early on)
  • was hoping Parky would at least get the Turner money seeing as how it wouldn't have been budgeted for.
  • I honestly think we only really need more fire power and cover at CB, for now anyway. The midfield we have cover for in Spring, Stav, Basey and Wags.
  • Sodje!

Hope it's true, really liked him when he was here a few seasons back.
  • [cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]was hoping Parky would at least get the Turner money seeing as how it wouldn't have been budgeted for.

Yeah, except by some relaiable accounts the budget did allow for selling Shelvey. Perhaps the Turner sale takes this pressure off?

McKenzie ruptured his achilles tendon in January, same injury and same time as Jon Fortune, so spooky parallel there (!)
According to Coventry local media, seems to have recovered and come through pre-season fine and was originally named in the matchday squad for Coventry last weekend - but was "withdrawn" at the last minute.

    So impending move ....?

I'd heard a whisper that Sodje was in negotiations at Charlton but can't substantiate ..... so it might just be the tea lady's old school friend's daughter's pillow talk.
  • Mark Viduka linked with a "pay as you play" deal with Leeds United, although Middlesborough and Newcastle also interested.

Was it someone who knows someone who does the shirt printing in the club shop who was told to order some more Js and more Zs : - )

Where we are now two experienced players who last year were playing in the CCC, albeit with dodgy injury records, and presumably on free transfer seem decent cover for what we have.

True but would leave us with McLeod, MacKenzie and Burton with Tuna seeming to be more in favour as well. Also seems that we can get a fee for Dickson and Fleets if previous rumours to be believed.
  • Don't forget ...... this transfer window only closes at 5pm for permanent transfers.

There's a loan window opening soon for, erm ........ loans.

So if we need a 20-goal season striker, maybe we can borrow someone's cast-offs exciting young prospect later on.
  • The SLP are reporting that Sodje and McKenzie are signing.
