General things that Annoy you

  • The difference is you shouldn't assume that the other owner wants your dog to play with their dog. TCE makes it very clear that his dog is scared of other dogs, not dangerous to them. All dogs are dangerous when they are scared to a certain point though, especially the breed TCE has, hence why he muzzles them.

The mouth is 90% of a dog's physical manipulation. They need it in order to pick things up, play, taste or defend themselves. A muzzle means a dog cannot do anything of these things so no wonder a dog that is already scared of other dogs will get very distressed if it has a muzzle since it cannot defend itself.

As a general rule, if another person's dog has a muzzle there is a good reason for it and you shouldn't just let your dog go up to it.

I don’t if it’s muzzled, in four years I can only recollect coming across one or two dogs who were on leads who got nasty and dear Zuben just looked at them with an air of total indifference turned his back and wandered off. I don’t discourage him to make an approach to any dog “unless” they are wearing a muzzle in which case we steer clear.....incidentally, TCE is yet to muzzle his dog if I’ve read his post correctly.
If anyone owns a dog that has the propensity to turn nasty they should wear a muzzle full stop, without their owner throwing a wobbler at others who don’t.
Two sides to every story lads.
If push came to shove I fancy Zuben could defend himself against just about any breed anyway.....but he’s never had to do so and has no interest in doing so.
You can’t expect friendly dogs to steer clear of every dog that’s on a lead for Christ’s sake, that notion is totally improbable and quite impossible to attain....it just ain’t gonna happen.
So if YOUR dogs got a nasty temperament put a muzzle on it!

Even if it has got a muzzle, why should your dear inquisitive dog be allowed to just wander over and annoy another dog?

Your 'inquisitive' is another persons 'annoying/unwelcome'

'Oh don't mind him, he is just being friendly'

Oh don't mind my boot, I am just being protective.

    Utter Bollox.
You might as well say “Oh don’t mind him he’s just a nasty bastard”.
And as for saying a friendly dog who wants to get aquatinted is another persons annoying/Unwelcome visitor what a sad statement.....if it’s that bad why bring your dog out in the first place......is it really worth it, I’d never wish to be partners with a dog like that.
Incidentally, why does a dog have a nasty temperament under someone’s watch in the first place?
Also your final sentence is somewhat alarming.....are you saying you would be prepared to kick a friendly loveable dog for having the temerity to try to make friends....am I reading that correctly......I hope not!

You are going a bit extreme here, all dogs are different personalities. Not dissimilar to people.

You can train a dog really well, same as you can a human but they can still have things that set them off, like a mate of mine who was a para for 12 years will shit himself around cats.

TCE trains dogs for a living, I understand your point but the point he is making is a valid one

Exactly. These are the people who let their dogs run at children who may or may not be scared of dogs. They follow it up with the words 'Don't worry, he is friendly, won't hurt anyone' etc. Exactly the words used by the owner of the dog that jumped up at my face when I was 4 years old and was less than half a centimetre from costing me my eye according to the doctor.

These are the c***s that piss me off. My daughter's recently been chased and bitten by dogs so is shit scared of them. I shouldn't have done it but lost it with an owner who sarcastically said to me "it's not a tiger" when she ran behind me when his lab came over to her.

Like I said, there’s two sides to every story.
I know TCE trains dogs but that doesn’t mean to say his take on this matter is a correct one, particularly as he’s affected by it on a personal basis.
I know a thing or two about dogs myself....including a champion Bloodhound that sired 54 puppies.
I like and respect TCE, but disagree with him calling people out for what he calls no manners.

  • Mr @SoundAsa£ your perception that a dog wagging its tail is a happy dog is a little off the mark I'm afraid and I'm working with a couple of dogs that wag their tails while trying to tear lumps out of you. I have at least 5 dogs that were basically on death row that with their owners love, patience and perseverance now over the months now socialise with each other off lead, like you they love their animals and wouldn't give up on them.
You didn't comment on my point about dogs being on a lead for a reason, i.e.: working, sick or injured dogs. The latest notification that dogs have issues, (Dog in training, sight and hearing dogs etc) is written on leads or harnesses which you won't see if at a distance and also not all owners will have the ability to read dog behaviour visually, when my dogs are on a lead they are working if they are off the lead they will happily play with your dog, However, one of my dogs is scared of the little guys that get in his face and will advise them accordingly, the reason I will fit my boy with a muzzle is to prevent harm coming to the dog that won't take that advice. Would you suggest he is pts or I continue training with him? (Genuine question?) This photo was taken by my wife while I was training with him, everyone that's seen the picture knows Bailey hasn't got a bad bone in his body and so this would out of character for him to lunge and attack. Until I tell them he was catching a biscuit so as I said not every knows nor cares your dog or mine is friendly they just want a bit of space. image

Living very near the beach, I won't allow my dogs to swim when people are on the beach. They get very excited when the tides in and if you were having a paddle with your children, looked up to see my two tearing towards you I'm guessing the last thing you would be thinking is "it's ok, they just want a swim" I consider it common courtesy.

That's the face I pull when there's biscuits to be had.
To be clear, that’s not the disco biscuits on the coach to Newcastle away

Your dogs and also my next door neighbours dogs would make such short work of eating a human, and they would do it with tails wagging.

  • 2 weeks back the phoneline goes, so I call SFR, they do the usual checks and say they cant sort it over the mobile so organise a rendezvous for Friday just gone (I send off a complaint about the amount of time this will take). Mrs waits in all day and we get a no show. I spend all day yesterday calling them, only to finally talk to someone in person at 15:00 yesterday and he explains that the rendezvous was actually a phone call and the number they were calling was the dead landline ffs! Anyway after explaining this to me the mobile line then also goes dead. We shoot out shopping and an hour later I get an engineer call up, so I plead with him to call back in 20 minutes, we get home and while I'm getting out the car, true to his word he calls back, I struggle to find the front door key, get in and run up to the box only to find the fuckin power is cut off.

Power reinstated an hour later after emergency works

    Still no phonline

Just got a text off SFR to say they're calling tomorrow at 16:00

Re: The engineer trying to call on the non-working phone line he was there to repair, exactly the same thing happened to a friend of mine over here a few years back. How thick are these people?

Those metal posts they use to narrow the space a car can get through as traffic calming measures. You could achieve the same effect with a speed bump or a speed camera but when you're driving through an area you don't know well at the speed limit (30) in the dark and one of these is sprung on you out of nowhere with absolutely no warning, it's a bloody hazard.

A colleague of mine has those eyeglasses and it would seem even just opening up a Word document that turns your computer screen bright white is enough to turn them opaque.

Was on the tube the other day when a bloke gets on wearing sun glasses. I checked him over and he did not have sight problems, just thought he looked a dude..............wanker.

changing a quoted post to suit ones own opinion is just plain arrogant and silly as well as misleading
