[cite]Posted By: T.C.E[/cite]Why is my number ELEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY SEVEN ? FOR F**** SAKE I have worked my n**s off for the last six months and I'm not even expected to finish before dark, and from what I remember there's only 10,000 runners, what sort of encouragement is that ;-)
lol.
The good thing for us fellas is that 55% of the runners are women. If you get a good rear to follow then it could be very motivating. ;-)
So true. Was in the gym last week and had already done 30mins on the treadmill when this absolutely drop dead gorgeous blonde got on the cross-trainer next to me so rather than stop, done an extra 30mins at greater speed and incline.
A simular thing happened last sunday I think (memory's gone as well) a spritely young swept passed me by greenwich park with those 3/4 length lycra leggings on, and boy did she know what she was doing!! she stayed far enough in front of me to wind me up a bit so I stepped up the pace a bit (cos the eyes are well gone) to get a closer look and then put her toe down, I spent the rest of the morning running through greenwich park like Clive Mendonca after scoring at Wembley.
By the way with the running shirts my sister sent some 3/4 length lycra leggings for us to wear on the day, and as a sponsor she insists they are worn. :-)
Will be full length for some eh????
I was stood next to him yesterday, now I get it ;-)
T.C.E. yes it sounds an optimistic time I know, but I'm confident I can do it if the buses are running
Tell you what, the old legs felt the steps up to row NN. was dying for a slash in the second half but tried to put it off till the end of the game just so it was downhill and not back up again!
TCE, do you have any t-shirts left in a large mate ? i ended up with an XL on Saturday and it fits like a tent ;o) If so i can come up one evening this week
did a nice run yesterday 2miles with my son in about 20 minutes plus another 5.5 on my own in around 40mins. felt good although and was a bit quicker than intended, although not as quick as this guy
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]i spent the weekend on the piss and any run went out of the window. so going to do 2 5 mile runs this week and hope for the best.
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]Would the runners be interested in contributing a tenner each to organise plates of sarnies and stuff in the Anchor afterwards. we can choose as little or as much as we like. but if we choose this pub as a location they can do us some grub. im sure the runners wont mind coughing up some money if their friends and family have come to watch them run.
Is this still the plan? If so, can I put myself and my Mrs on the list please?
[cite]Posted By: Tavern[/cite]come on lets all make it for the anchor on sunday be a good afternoon and we can all have a knees up and sing charlton songs!
Not sure about the knees up mate, i wont be able to move my legs one bit ;o) defo up for the Anchor though.
Right, I'm calling it now... I'm out.
4 miles yesterday, on/off walking/jogging and didnt even manage 2 miles today. Leg is like it's been repeatedly kicked in the shin and is throbbing away, despite using some anti-inflammatory cream over the past few days. Something clearly still isn't right with it and I'm struggling to do 4 miles, let alone over 13. It's my own fault, knew I was carrying it, so probably shouldn't of said yes in the first place. Sorry all.

Think I'm just going to make the 3 and a half hour deadline!
& the fags!
Don't lose the chip then...!
Winding down now. Didn't do the intended 9 miles on Saturday, did 6 and stayed in my comfort zone as i didn't want to push myself too much.
For this week, my intention is to do 4 miles tonight, then 2-3 miles on Wednesday, and then that's it.
Does than sound a sensible approach ?
personally I will be doing about 3miles tomorrow and the same on thursday then a couple of miles with my son on saturday all at a fairly easy pace.
