[cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]Still don't know the end of 'a grand old team' do they, I was about the only one singing the last couple of lines of that song.
Me neither, I reckon we should paraphrase the Celtic version
For it's a grand old team to play for,
For it's a grand old team to see,
And if you know the history,
It's enough to make your heart go woooooah!
We don't care what Millwall Jordan says,
What the hell do we care,
For we only know that there's going to be a show,
And the Charlton Athletic will be there.
I wanna know who was the raven haired dolly in the 2nd front row of block V1 where I was coooorrrr if your the partner of her on here you lucky sod !! Blimey dolly parton would be jealous !!!
Im turning into Uncle Silas !!!! Urgh !!!!! Anyway
The people that i took issue with were all about 35 no older
They went there with the intention of not joining in and moaning and as i have stated before that is fine who am i to tell you you are wrong but i will if you keep spouting bollox i did not react to the first or second load of cack it was after 10 mins of constant inaccuracies
to do it when we were on top and to defend Weaver for the goal but blame ZZ
then to carry on blaming pardew,Halford,Holland,Lita Sinclair
and then Holland for everything that has gone wrong that apperently has only happend since he returned 4 or 5 games ago ???? was just too much
but in the end was exteemley funny because we were childish and very annoying back
my main point was to let people know that not everyone agrees with the booing not everyone agrees with slagging off players be very carefull to your surroundings because you could end up in the situation that took place on saturday
not everyone agrees it is the worst trait at our club at the moment I do it is my opinion you can shoot it down or back it up i dont mind either way what i do know is it rilled me at first and thank god for me that Steve and Dan were there or i would have got nicked and missed the coach home and embarresed myself in the end we took pleasure at ruining their winge up and others may not think that is fair but we did i just felt compeeled to put my point out and in the words of nolly
I just got pig sick of the fella with the brown hair who only came to life to abuse! I totally agree with the fact that there are different groups of support but I pay my money as much as that div did and if he can vent his spleen at a player who was having a pretty decent game then I can vent mine at him.
Now I know that works what i would like to say is that guy said since holland has come back into the team we have only won 4 times not his only played 4 time. until Holland, Halford and Ambrose are out of the team we will not go forward, his been up and down the country all season as he has done for a number of years and rightly so the ipswich game sent him to boiling point, Holland did not close down for the first goal not jerome as you claim, that’s why we conceded fluke or no fluke. did u ask him to sit down once NO. all you came out all all game was i went to burnley im a proper fan, your only here for the free season ticket, bollox who are you to talk to people like that, if were crap what shall we do all say well done lads better luck next time, dont think so some how. me and him have been supporting the club for years and dont need someone like you questioning that. At the end of the day the team are going through an awful patch and until pardew realizes he has to change it will stay the same. we didn’t come to boo the team we came to support and it wasnt till the second half we lost it, we joined in with your peter varneys red and white army and other songs. but when the team consistently play crap theres only so much you can take. The last thing we want to do is argue with any other charlton fans but you seem to try and categorize all supporters into newbie’s, oldies, ones for the free ticket, which is wrong because you know nothing about other supporters and if you must know we been supporting for over 20 years as were only 24 and 25 and we have not missed an home match since we was 11 and have been to at least half the away games every season, but of course that doesnt make us a proper supporters. Like someone else said on here everyone takes there frustrations out differently and because we had an opinion we should shut up. fair play we all had are differences and as usual we will be there at the next game supporting the team, and going nuts if were still playing the crap football, Listen I dont want to argue with you I want to say good luck to ya and if we ever see to you again were back in the promotion hunt.
well one thing we can do is get behind the team on friday and not put up with constant moaners, im taking new girlfriend plus my 8 year old on friday dont mind standin up dont mind swearing but il be well f****ed off if im surrounded by people puttin the team down if theyre makin some sort of effort. c'mon you reds.
2nd half my arse your pal was giving it with atleast 20 mins of the 1st half left, No one told him to sit down you can stand up all game if you want standing was never an issue
you lot didnt get up or sing one encouraging song or comment all game.
Your support was worse than the performance of anyone player and he quite clearly No one mentioned Burnley as none of us went to that game. And he quite clearly said on more than one occasion that the decline in the team was since Holland came back into the team.
I couldnt care if you feel that you are proper Charlton, proper charlton IMO waits until after the game to give it if they dont like what they have seen or like most of us dont do it at all as what do you feel it achieves.
You lot need to remember the dark days when we were shite
and like we said saturday Just because we are Charlton does not mean we will win every game even though we would like too
You need to support a team through thick and thick ruff and smooth thats why we support Charlton not Man yoo or the gooners.
All you did was piss supporters off and nothing to encourage those that put in the effort.
We had 3 goals disallowed we had 60 odd percent of the match we went behind because Weaver Did not catch a ball not a player closing the man down if Weaver had caught it un challenged then the play would not have needed closing down.
ZZ although tired played well as did Holland and did not deserve your abuse
as for Pardew i like him some in my company on saturday dont but to find fault in what he was doing that early in a game you set your intentions out early and that was to criticise every short pass or failing of any player really helpfull when your a goal down to a team with a home record like ipswich
Maybe it's the fact we dont want to see the bad days coming back again, and yes if you look at the stats since holland came back for the burnley home game our season has some what declined. were as fans are not like that every game but when you have to watch dreadful players like Halford, Holland and Ambrose play week in week out when we have better players who can quite easliy fill there boots not getting a chance it gets very frustrating, i know all our fans love matty but at the end of the day his simply not good enough anymore. I know were not going to win every game I just want to see Pardew put the best players on the pitch and not be to loyal to some of them. Yes i know what comes with being a charlton the high the lows the good and bad,but i personally was at breaking point because i know we can do much better, and we didnt need fans questioning our support, if i offended anyone i apologise but i cant apologise for being passionate with my feelings even though its not the way everyone lets out there frustrations. I love charlton and will carry on following them whatever division they are in. we need to go up this season otherwise our crowd will drop to about 16,000 we wont be able to attract players and were gonna have life a life struggling in the championship again with all the financial worries to go with. Up the addicks!!
ambrose drifts into the middle to much leaving the full back exposed to much. since JT has come back he has been far the better winger out the 2 of them
[cite]Posted By: Rothko[/cite]Your starter for 10. Who didn't close down the winger before the first goal on Saturday, and I'll give you a clue, he was wearing 14
no mate if you watch it again who's closing the player down when he scores after weaver punches it, Holland and whose closing down when Haynes scored Ambrose, Holland didnt get close enough to his man and ambrose was to chicken to get a whack from the ball and turns away Ambrose. please take a look. http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/championshipvideo/0,,12555~1266924,00.html
ok fair enough, i'm not just making these players scapegoats it's just i feel there simply not good enough, and we have players better then them that need to come in and get a chance and not be dropped after 2 games.

This thread is mad but that beats the lot. I'd just like to say that when you reach the point that you can't take anymore - don't go!!!
It's that simple. If you really feel that the players aren't trying and don't deserve your support - DON'T GO!
Everyone, including yourself will be better off.
One point I was brooding the other day:
'Spectators are not necessarily supporters, and supporters are not necessarily spectators'
That's all I have to say on this matter -I'm going to bed
[cite]Posted By: Off_it[/cite]Sounds like I missed an absolute cracker on Saturday.
Fear not though chaps, I will be coming out of away game retirement for QPR - 1st away game of the season. I'm armchair you see - not a true fan.
You're only coming for the beer and doughnuts..... Plastic!
How's the bunions or blisters or whatever they have mutated into now? Meths do take the edge off a bit
Absolutely true. I am a plastic johnny come lately who will indeed only be going for the light ale. I was thinking of saving my first away game for the play off semi's - but QPR is always a good lash up so can't miss that.
Still got the blisters - two weeks on - but they have healed up quite well. Took your advice and drunk a bottle of meths - it didn't do the blisters any good but it sure took my mind off them!

Discuss as you all have

i would rather have midfielders setting up twice as many goals for the forwards then him trying to be the glory boy all the time!
Johan Cruyff?

Once you start to build up an immunity to the meths give red diesel a go. Like an alcopop for the serious drinkers amongst us
