Charlton Athletic vs. Wrexham Saturday 28th February 2026 – 3:00pm Kick-Off Referee: Farai Hallam Introduction Charlton head into this weekend’s game at The Valley off the back of a decent point in an uninspiring game of football at The Hawthorns,…

MATCH THREAD : Charlton Athletic V Wrexham : Saturday 28th February 2026 : KO 15:00
Hi everyone… Today we have Wrexham visit The Valley in yet another important match, they sit in a top six position with a very healthy 54 points having suffered just one defeat in the last six, and should provide some stiff opposition, but we too are doing "ok" at the moment, also with just one defeat in the last six, I…

England Cricket 2026
With the Ashes now a distant memory (we wish), it is time to look forward. So, what do we have coming up for England? Well, the real highlights are likely to be the two T20 World Cups – the men have theirs in we taking place in February/March in India and Sri Lanka and the Women’s competition is on home soil during…

Loan watch 25/26
Now we have a few players out on loan I thought it might be good to have one thread to keep track of them. Although unlikely to play for us again I am including Terry Taylor as he is still a Charlton player. Nathan Asiimwe - Season long loan to Wimbledon…

Under 21s (Match updates and news)
On a personal level it is extremely disappointing that our Under 23's are seeking permission to play their matches at Beckenham Town this season. Although 5 matches will be played at the Valley, that is too far for me to travel. Of course Beckenham is far from being "Charlton heartland", but of course the regime are…

We have Music, films, TV, stand up, books and all kinds. I thought I would start an occasionally used thread for Addicks who go to live theatre and musicals. Five second rule for throw ins and goal kicks?
Proposed by IFAB according to Sky. I don’t like time wasting but five seconds for a throw in leaves no time for prep for a long throw / time for defenders to get forward. The penalty proposed is turnover of the throw and goal kick becomes a corner. Would keep the game moving but 8-10 seconds feels more realistic than 5.…

How Many points for Championship Survival? and How do we get them?
Looking at the last 10 Championship seasons -you need 50 points on average for the 22nd team to displace the 21st team -you need 48 points if you just beat 22nd place team by 1 point So after 25 games played, we need about 21 points to make 50, so a point a game BUT Sheffield Weds have been so poor (competitively) that we…

Going to games on holiday
I’ve travelled overseas expressly to watch a match a handful of times (El Classico & Madrid derby etc) but usually football doesn’t cross my mind when I book trips abroad. However….once they’re booked, I sometimes take a peek at whether the local team has a home game and occasionally pop along. Interested to hear other…

Charlton fans in strange places….
Not sure if there is already a thread but this stems from a conversation with @PeteF this morning. His son, Dan, always moaned that people would stop and chat to Pete at games. They were in Berlin at a Hertha match, Pete was rather drunk, that in itself is not unusual but someone came up to him and said your Pete Finch…

Danny Murphy
See he didn't even make the squad this week. 1. We desperately need an attacking centre mid 2. He must be dying for first team football 3. I'm convinced Dowie could handle him better than Curbs 4. Unlike last season when it was just Bent, i could see JFH really benefiting from his service. Despite this, i wouldn't want him…

Palace and Europe ?
I've tried to find the answer but can't see anything on uefa website re qualification for next sesaons Europa league. Football facts that don't sound true (but are)
Inspired by the Aguero not being a PotY conversation, what other facts do you know that sound like they shouldn't be true but are? I'll start with a couple. Jens Lehmann went a whole season in the Champions League without conceding a goal, and got all the way to the final. Sergio Ramos has scored more goals than Andres…

POST-MATCH THREAD: West Bromwich Albion v Charlton Athletic: Tuesday 24th February 2026: KO 19:45
This one got off to a slow start but the Addicks looked comfortable and West Brom looked quite hopeless and devoid of both ideas and ability. It’s precisely these kinds of games that Charlton seem unable to raise their intensity for, despite how important it is to keep gaining points on those below us and in such obviously…

Do we have the best set of Charlton songs in living memory?
I ask because, as I come from the “‘Peanuts for sixpence’ and ‘Paul Went Went Went’ era, I must say I’ve been proud to hear the range, ingenuity and humour of our fans both home and away. Classics like the Sonny Carey (which much to my other half’s dismay I sing in as many non football scenarios as possible) will no doubt…

Long Sleeved Football Shirts
Nice to see at least three of Manchester United’s team wearing long sleeved shirts tonight. In my opinion, it looks so much smarter than the trim half way down the arm, separated from a base layer. Admittedly, with some kits you hardly notice the difference, but worst case scenario must be the Palace shirt and red base…
