Eltham highstreet all shops closed apart from a crappy newsagents - Police everywhere. The riots are growing and spreading. How longs all this crap going to go on for? Its such a joke. Just get the bloody army in now!
FFS give it a rest. Eltham has closed shops as a precaution. As have most shopping areas in the SE post code range. You will see police because there are an extra 10,000 of them on the streets.
I live a mile from Eltham High St and it is like a normal day other than the shops being closed.
The only confirmed trouble is in West Bromwich and the police have stamped on the 200 or so that are trying to kick off.
Lets be honest, theres a good chance it will be quiet tonight, the looters took advantage of a low police presence present throughout the streets of london. There chances of getting away with it tonight are much slimmer.
The only problem is we wont be able to keep up this substantial amount of policing 24/7 - 365!!!

I can see the whole of south London ahead of me from my work seat...no fire there....the only obvious one is the one in Enfield (Sony centre?) which has been billowing out smoke behind me most of the day though.
just drove home from work. shooters hill to eltham. nothing to report other than majority of shops shut, a couple of 'stop and searches' going on and a large(ish) police presence around the high street.
As far as im aware there is nothing going on in South East, someone mentioned that a few thugs were walking around with bats in Plumstead but not sure how true this is. Drove past Woolwich earlier and lots of people hanging around. Hopefully it will be a quiet or they are just waiting for it to get dark...who knows!
