When I watch Miles play like that I think he could even become an international. Quite a few miles (excuse the pun) in the road before we get there but if he can stay injury free who knows.
An international for whom? If you mean England then no way, in my opinion.
I also think its unlikely but it isn't like players haven't made their first England appearances later in their careers in recent times. Would be curious to see if he qualifies elsewhere and if he'd be interested though

Absolutely knackered this morning, but what a result. Those nights are the ones that make all of the other crap worth it. So glad I decided to go.

Seen a couple of great games there now, Leaburn Senior hat-trick many moons ago and now that.

We've got a team here, let's enjoy it and see where we go.
    Including his penalty too

Miles is still young enough for the England U21s.

If you'd have told me during his underwhelming spell with us, that Jay Boothroyd would get an England cap I would have had you medicated!! But he did, so I wouldn't count Miles out yet....

The whole of the ball has to be over the whole of the line dosn't it ?

It would be opposition dependent but it seems to me that regardless of who starts, the pairings seem better balanced with kelman place and tc leaburn. And on the latter two's playing history it makes sense to pair them that way

I wonder, if we are still there or there about's when the next transfer window bursts open, if our owners will 'accelerate' our Premier ambitions and have a bit of speculative investment?.
I am more concerned that some of our players could be targeted by other clubs in the january window.
Some of them were targeted by PL clubs last january window and are still here, I’m not overly concerned
I hope you are right, would be a shame to break up this squad .

Look at Ashley Young's comments at the end...

"You saw the way Charlton were celebrating after the game like they'd won a cup final and for many teams that's what it's going to be like [against us]."

I don't think we are getting the respect for that result and performance. First 25/30 minutes yes we did sit deep and almost 10 men behind the ball, but we probably had best two chances in the first half (neither shown on highlights), then second half thought we were the better side.

But Ashley you haven’t just been smash and grabbed 1-0, we pumped you 3 in the 2nd half, was giving you credit how you played, now I think your a twat!!

In a post match interview Nathan Jones was at pains to remind us it was just another league game, and three points. He said something like good though it was, it wasn’t  a cup final.
His perspective was a different one to Young’s perspective, for Jones it was about can we compete in this division, not Ipswich are special.

We also celebrated in euphoric fashion when we beat Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road

That had nothing to do with the opposition

To be fair, it was winning 3-0 at moneybags Ipswich, with all their PL players and 8 figure signings which made it such a special night. If it had been at Oxford it would still have been magical, but not to that degree.

I think your vlog is getting better everytime. It is great to get the views of the away fans and really adds to it. Getting their views after a game like Tuesday night might never be possible. A suggestion which may take a while or not be possible is when you bump into some reasonable away fans, maybe get their details and arrange a video conference post match  and put out two versions of the vlog, a normal one and an XL one with more content. Another is have a star man feature where you pick your man of the match and say why. I can see the potential for you to have the best vlog out there.
    Wow mate, thank you.

I think they're better than when I first started, pacing, structure, audio, footage etc. They always can be better though, there are some amazing football content creators out there that I aspire to be like. Our own Jimmy as an example with his BoA, albeit a different kind of content. FusionJosh probably the Golden standard in perspective vlogging.

Thanks for the ideas, I have been thinking of post match for a while now, wouldn't be difficult Charlton fan wise as I am in the Royal Oak after games now anyway.

Away fans much trickier, especially if they lose. Any feedback always welcome though. I'll start with my own motm from tomorrow :)

The movement to police the levels of celebration in football is really annoying. There is not all that much to be happy about in the world at the moment. If we want to go mental celebrating our team getting a great result, we absolutely should.

It's very much how they celebrated when they beat Norwich a few weeks ago. I get it was a local derby but their celebrations could certainly have been considered OTT by any neutral.

Given we'd lost our previous 2 matches there 10-0 on aggregate, I think a little euphoria at a 3-0 win is justified.

We’ve just come up, we were big underdogs, media had them, they’re fans couldn’t see anything other than a win, even a fair chunk of our fans didn’t give us a hope, I did so there!!😜, of course we’re going to go f**>^%g mental!!!!

I’m done with trying to second guess this Charlton team. I thought Ipswich at home would have too much for us last night and after the first 35 minutes I was expecting a 3 - 0 but not a 0 - 3. Yes we rode our luck but we grafted and never dropped our heads when we could have actually been 3 - 0 down. Perhaps the real difference between us and them was that although we’re not all conquering we’re not fragile and I think Ipswich showed last night second half that they are brittle. They collapsed. Jones has built a group that are a proper team. No egos, no slackers and battlers to a man. Will that be enough to get us into playoff contention ? I still don’t think so but I said the same last season. What I do know is that any team we play will have to be on their game to beat us. First season back and that’s all we can ask for. Away support magnificent .
I disagree that we could’ve been 3-0 down, 2-2 at half time might have been a better reflection on the score but even then we had the two most clear cut chances through Tanto and Gilly. For all their pressure in the opening half hour or so I can only remember Kaminski making one save. Hitting the bar isn’t even statistically a shot on target.
Ipswich might have not hit the target,  but had masses of chances in the first half before we had the two late chances. That's how they ended up with 2.47 xG
I always at least try to see things without my rose tinted specs and I can honestly say that I thought that Ipswich were absolutely dominant in the first 35 mins. Yes we had a couple of chances but they had so many dangerous positions that thankfully due to poor finishing and good defending came to nothing. Second half different game. I certainly breathed a sigh of relief when the ref blew that half time whistle.

This is a good take on what happend in that 1st half.
Most/many fans use their emotional part of their brain and not the analytical part plus add alcohol and fans will see either sublime or shit football; no average allowed.

Ipswich played round us and through us and fortunately we either blocked or they were profligate in and around the Charlton area. Ironically Tanto and Macca had the best chances of the half and that did bode well for the second period.
At HT most CAFC folk would've checked out with a draw.
I guess if you had amnesia and couldn't remember the shocking 4-0 and 6-0 maulings at Portman road and the defeats at QPR and Preston away you expected CAFC to be brilliant in that 2nd half.

From the moment the Ginger genius scored from his great run that second half was owned by Charlton and the confidence and momentum went cosmic by us as Ipswich fell to earth with a bump.

Sheer Ambrosia and wonderful unity between players and fans.
    Long may it last.

Bit of a curious follow up to Tuesday night's triumph

You may or may not know that I do walking tours of Norwich. They are theatrical and I'm in costume. In fact, I did one right before I jumped on a train to Ipswich on Tues, so I was in full dramatic long black coat and top hat. Somebody here may have seen me?

In any case, now is the busiest time of year due to Halloween.  I've got tours for 9 days straight with some sold out at 50 people. Demand is huge. I've been prepping for a couple of months. The first tour was last night.

Now...I got a bit carried away in celebrating goals on Tuesday and wrecked my voice. Idiot. I spent Weds and Thurs mostly silent, slurping down Chinese herbal medicine, drinking warm drinks and inhaling steam. By Friday I at least had a functional loud voice, even if not full range.

I go to do my tour and thought id better explain a bit about my voice. I told them I had travelled to Ipswich on Tuesday (good for some boos in Norwich) and got carried away celebrating their football team being "destroyed by the greatest team in the world, Charlton Athletic" only to be greeted by cheers and "Come on you reds" on account of the fact that there were 2 separate Charlton supporting couples in the group of 30. Remarkable!

As for the ball being out of play it’s debatable.
From what I saw (and made out), it was 50/50…..was the “whole circumference of the ball” outside the line, the bottom surface of the ball certainly was but highly debatable from what we’ve seen IMHO.
When this happens light is seen between the bottom of the ball and the line this sometimes misleads the viewer to believe that the whole circumference is outside the line……especially when it’s happening so fast.
Parallax is the term used for this occurrence.
If I had known that before I posted it would have saved a lot of time and effort.😂
Well, maybe. What percentage here know what parallax is?

Bloody hell @Braziliance, you looked like you were gonna have a cardiac arrest mate, great video, and love those Ipswich fans with their ,"little 'ol Charlton  we will win easy, if you can keep the score down" stuff...
We fu*kin' showed them big time...NJ is a legend
Funny enough mate, I've felt like s**t since that night, probably overdid it 😂 but that's just how I felt, not a big fan of Ipswich

    @Silverdreammachine

Just a quick thing as well mate, I can't upload anymore as quick as I used to, I am using a really high quality camera.

I have to move all the files to my phone to edit which takes some time, then I need to edit and render, and cause of the clip quality (think it's always 2180p) it takes ages to render, then of course the youtube upload.

    It's about a 6 hour process now. :)
@Braziliance why are you editing on a ‘phone?  Do you not have a desktop or laptop that should be a lot faster?

Exactly. Hence my comment, ridiculing whichever Ipswich supporter posted it.
