I remember them taking The Covered End in 76.
    Mocking our relegation in 99.
Attacking us at Hillsborough in 2014 and many other runs in with the 'orrible northern bastards.

The last time we were relegated it was because the efl didn't deduct their points for breaking the rules in the same season.

I'd be very pleased if they spent the next 20 years in Leagues 1, 2 or non league.
I don't think they took the Covered end. They tried at half time, i remember because my cousin was nicked at the gate behind the West as they tried to get through. The Police kept him overnight so he told his parents he'd stayed at mine.
The following week the Mercury published a list of all those arrested. Oh how we laughed.
They got in the covered end early virtually before everyone else got there. Despite several attempts we couldn't get them.out.
    Another who remembers it well.
    I certainly do.

Sounds like there were a lot of hard men in football back in the day, but they all missed a trick, could have become prize fighting millionaires instead of being tough at the football. 😂
Unfortunately it was quite rough in the 70s and 80s. Don't think you would have liked it.

Imagine being so sensitive that a stupid comment from a player about 10 years ago, and a few idiotic fans (of which we have a few ourselves), is enough for anyone to show zero sympathy for a club and generations of its fans that have followed them for 158 years.

Seriously, some of you need to grow up a little bit.

Treat people with respect and (if you're lucky) they'll treat you with respect. Doubt this lot have ever shown respect to anyone.

Sheffield Wednesday have always been a nasty club. I don't wish them to fold but I don't wish them well.

    FAC 3rd rd....we won 2-1.
I was there. As I recall, we were in old Div 2 and they were in Div 3?

Yes that's right....Went on to beat Portsmouth in the 4th rd (after a replay) then lost 3-0 at Wolves in the 5th rd.
Where Charlton fans had to run across the motorway to escape the Wolves fans waiting in the subway.
I think it was a John Richards hat trick.

I wonder if you would still feel the same if they had attacked you or your family?

Even the SAS would have thought twice about using the toilet behind the Covered end. The light never worked and the spiders were the size of your hand.

If that happened to me I'd probably take pleasure out of seeing us beat them, or them getting relegated as a bit of revenge.

But if anyone's going to attribute the behavior of a minority of idiots to literally hundreds of thousands of people dating back one and a half centuries, and happy to see them go out of existence - then it says more about that person tbh.

I don't think more than one or two have said they want them out of existence.

More that they won't be supporting their protests and would be quite happy for them to get their comeuppance by getting relegated.

NB although their idiots are a minority ie less than 50%, they are a very sizeable minority.
It's just that a minority of our fans posting on here have been lucky enough to have not met their idiot minority.

In terms of idiot minorities they are in a pack behind Millwall, Leeds, W Ham, Chelsea etc, but they are up there in the bunch of biggest c*%ts going.

Am I right in saying they are the only mob to have properly taken the Covered End outside of London. I know of others that have had a go....Forrest and Brum spring to mind but didn't stay in there for that long.
Leicester took the covered end in the early 1970’s. I remember it as a nipper who used to stand on the small terrace next to the old west stand. It was a match that we lost 5-1
Millwall chased Charlton fans round the whole Valley  terraces,  West stand, covered end  in the 70's. They took over the whole ground.

Think it was 5-0 & Eddie Firmani played Mike Kenning at left back & got sacked after the game. Certainly don't remember Leicester being in the Covered End.
