I remember them taking The Covered End in 76.
    Mocking our relegation in 99.
Attacking us at Hillsborough in 2014 and many other runs in with the 'orrible northern bastards.

The last time we were relegated it was because the efl didn't deduct their points for breaking the rules in the same season.

I'd be very pleased if they spent the next 20 years in Leagues 1, 2 or non league.
I don't think they took the Covered end. They tried at half time, i remember because my cousin was nicked at the gate behind the West as they tried to get through. The Police kept him overnight so he told his parents he'd stayed at mine.
The following week the Mercury published a list of all those arrested. Oh how we laughed.

Of the top 3 threads on their forum, number one is “Boycott All Away Games” and number three is “Any Spares For Charlton”…good to see they’re all in tune 🤷🏻‍♂️😉

They did take the covered end. I remember it well. They were in the ground very early. There were groups of Charlton fans armed with stones etc walking around the ground pelting the Sheff Wed fans. I also remember a Sheff Wed fan lying face down in FloydRoad after the game. He looked in a bad way.

I think it's a tricky one. Of course some (maybe a lot) of their fans are idiots and their captain certainly is. But the flip side is there are a lot of other fans who are normal people like us and there's a large amount of "normal" people working at the club who are being treated appallingly. It doesn't particularly change my opinion that they didn't support us in our struggles either. Two wrongs don't make a right and ultimately we all want bad owners out of the game. I wouldn't be joining in with chants (unless aimed at the EFL, which we can all get on board with) but I won't begrudge them if they do any protests either. It's not long ago that we were annoyed by a lack of support from other teams in the pyramid, why would we want to be part of that problem?

Sheffield Wednesday has sold out the Jimmy Seed Stand on Saturday and will almost certainly be making a verbal protest and calling for the removal of their owner Dejphon Chansiri who has yet to pay the September wages, and seems hell-bent on killing their club. We have suffered enough from rogue owners in recent years, so will you be adding your voice to their protest on Saturday?

    No, i'm pro Chansiri.

I do get it, but I'm uncomfortable with the demise of any football team including Sheffield Wednesday.

I consider Sheffield Wednesday a big game, one to savour.  I note Stevenage are currently heading League One and could potentially replace the Massif next season, that's hardly an upgrade.

We have to be careful in what we wish for, every team needs other teams to play - we can't do it on our own.

I will give them the same amount of sympathy they gave us when we got relegated from the premier league on the last day of the season.
I hope we trounce them 5-0 and they go down,no feelings at all for them.

Upgrade or not, if they get promoted...they deserve it based on merit and not being a "big club".

Felt the same about us, yes we were bigger than most teams in L1 but we deserved to be there by not being promoted.

I think, if any club should fold and it be used as a wake up call, for lessons to be learned and as a warning that it should never be allowed to happen again, then I'd be prepared to sacrifice Sheffield Wednesday.

I'd also be prepared for those lessons to be forgotten temporarily in order for Palace to suffer a similar fate.

I hope CAFC security is on the ball with this. Things lobbed on the pitch and the game disrupted would a bit ironic.

It used to be ‘what goes around comes around’ but that has been shortened to Karma.
Barry (good player) Bannan, and plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans who disparaged our club are learning what that feels like now.
I hope for three points on Saturday, then to forget about them until we play them again.

They got in the covered end early virtually before everyone else got there. Despite several attempts we couldn't get them.out.

I have bumped into many sheff wed fans coming back from away games to London and they are all an arrogant bunch of twats.

I went to the Utd game a few weeks back and they are a 1000 times better. Mind we did have a few of our own twats at Sheffield Station after the game.

Sure we all remember that Palarse game and the "Amirillo" song...
Well "Wednesday" fits in nicely 👌
Just saying why not resurrect that old one for the Wendies...😂

Would not want them to go out of business but a points deduction this season and 5 years languishing in Leage 1 & 2 might give them a new perspective on being "massive".

Am I right in saying they are the only mob to have properly taken the Covered End outside of London. I know of others that have had a go....Forrest and Brum spring to mind but didn't stay in there for that long.

Any Sheffield Wednesday fans in the Covered End are going to be in real trouble.

They'll miss their train back to Yorkshire because, as we know, the old bill like home fans to wait until the Away fans have been escorted to the station safely.

Think it was 71 or 72, they were in the Covered End early, a small mob of Charlton went up the back (heavily outnumbered) & it all went off. More Sporadic fighting went on through the first half. It was rumoured afterwards that some Charlton had left the game to go & phone friends to get down to the Valley. Whether that was true or not I don't know but by the second half there was certainly a much bigger mob of Charlton  although I don't think there was so much violence as the first half as there was a heavier police presence but after the game it all went off. Later walking up Charlton Church Lane got to the top of the hill & bizarrely 6 or 7 Wednesday supporters coaches appeared trundling very slowly through the Village (why they came that way I have no idea) but they must of had a chilly journey home as every coach had windows smashed.
