    Mocking our relegation in 99.
Attacking us at Hillsborough in 2014 and many other runs in with the 'orrible northern bastards.

The last time we were relegated it was because the efl didn't deduct their points for breaking the rules in the same season.

I'd be very pleased if they spent the next 20 years in Leagues 1, 2 or non league.
I don't think they took the Covered end. They tried at half time, i remember because my cousin was nicked at the gate behind the West as they tried to get through. The Police kept him overnight so he told his parents he'd stayed at mine.
The following week the Mercury published a list of all those arrested. Oh how we laughed.
They got in the covered end early virtually before everyone else got there. Despite several attempts we couldn't get them.out.
    FAC 3rd rd....we won 2-1.
I was there. As I recall, we were in old Div 2 and they were in Div 3?

Bit worrying. Only a couple of fans on this thread seem able or willing to distinguish the club from the cause. Badly run is not the fans fault. Being pro-Chansiri, even if tongue-in-cheek, is totally bonkers. I hope we get the atmosphere and a home win, but that doesn't mean i want to support bad governance and a club to go to the wall because of it.

They didn’t seem to mind the issues when there points deduction for the 19/20 season was suspended to keep them up instead of us. Most other clubs I would have sympathy and support for they’re not one of them
Absolutely agree. They can get stuffed. If they invade the pitch like they did in their last home game, I’m going to boo and I hope everyone else does. Barry Bannon should be booed everytime he touches the ball.
Personally I want to win this more than Millwall.  Sheffield Wednesday really do my head in - I’d love to see them go down to League Two for 5-10 years.
This will be my boys’ first match at The Valley since pre-covid!

Sure we all remember that Palarse game and the "Amirillo" song...
Well "Wednesday" fits in nicely 👌
Just saying why not resurrect that old one for the Wendies...😂
but it doesn't work in this scenario
Ok, but we could help them on their way...😉

Fuck them, not even the oldest club in Sheffield ffs, all this talk of history of a club. Their fans are in the top 5 of wankers per fan category for me, up there with Leeds, Palace (for different reasons), Birmingham and Millwank. Hope he keeps choking the life out of them and they have to drop to League 2 minimum, and start all over again

There's a surprising amount of vitriol on this thread, especially given the problems we've had with dodgy owners ourselves! If they protest somehow i really won't have an issue...

Then, I hope we bang em 5 nil and send the cnts back to their shitty northern slums after a totally humiliating miserable disastrous afternoon for the tossers!

So, i guess i'm kinda on the fence with this one 😃

Yes that's right....Went on to beat Portsmouth in the 4th rd (after a replay) then lost 3-0 at Wolves in the 5th rd.

I don't go to football to abuse, fight, or cause grief to anybody I come into contact with, be it a fellow CAFC supporter or opponent.
Giving out abuse is for mindless morons, and not part of the Charlton ethos.
Rivalry all day long. Want to beat Sheffield Wed and get the points. But just mindless abuse count me out.!
  • I don't care for them. What goes round.....

Outside of Millwall and Palace ,Sheff Wed are the team I hate most.
Despite their owner being a total wrongun I'd love it if we were winning comfortably and sang his name.
Wednesday fans are among the worst in the country and will get no support from me
We love you Dejphon we do
We love you Dejphon we do

    Chansiri we love you

Am I right in saying they are the only mob to have properly taken the Covered End outside of London. I know of others that have had a go....Forrest and Brum spring to mind but didn't stay in there for that long.
Leicester took the covered end in the early 1970’s. I remember it as a nipper who used to stand on the small terrace next to the old west stand. It was a match that we lost 5-1

Leicester were indeed in the covered end all game.
But so were Charlton and try as hard as they could they never got us out.
So they never took the covered end as we were in it all game.

You would not feel that way if you had to stop a grown man trying to punch your 80year old Dad after we beat them at there place 11/12.
I also got a smack in 76 as a 13 year old walking into the ground.
so I will abusing them on Saturday.

Their fans are knuckle-dragging mouth breathers and it's a close tie between them and Brum for clubs I couldn't give a single shit about.

My father who has since died once asked them when he was sitting on a wall eating chips at the bottom of Floyd Rd how Lieria was doing. They told him to fuck off.

Unless I'm mistaken I can clearly  "see them" wearing yellow & green scarves.

They did take the covered end. I remember it well. They were in the ground very early. There were groups of Charlton fans armed with stones etc walking around the ground pelting the Sheff Wed fans. I also remember a Sheff Wed fan lying face down in FloydRoad after the game. He looked in a bad way.
That's what I remember as well.

I think it's a tricky one. Of course some (maybe a lot) of their fans are idiots and their captain certainly is. But the flip side is there are a lot of other fans who are normal people like us and there's a large amount of "normal" people working at the club who are being treated appallingly. It doesn't particularly change my opinion that they didn't support us in our struggles either. Two wrongs don't make a right and ultimately we all want bad owners out of the game. I wouldn't be joining in with chants (unless aimed at the EFL, which we can all get on board with) but I won't begrudge them if they do any protests either. It's not long ago that we were annoyed by a lack of support from other teams in the pyramid, why would we want to be part of that problem?
It's 100% not a problem to the vast majority of Charlton fans with long memories if we don't back scummy Wednesday.

I like the City of Sheffield and don't mind Wednesday, I hope they see off their scum bag of an owner.
But Saturday, I hope we thump them, as I do whoever we play, every match.
As for the protests, I might clap them and would certainly not abuse/boo them.  Good luck to any Wednesday fan looking in (for their protests, not in the game!).

Sounds like there were a lot of hard men in football back in the day, but they all missed a trick, could have become prize fighting millionaires instead of being tough at the football. 😂

On that occasion when Johnny Jackson scored that peach of a free kick up there in league one I remember being in a pub and getting pushed by some Sheffield Wednesday fan into the urinal  (and no it wasn’t a home pub) and yet on another occasion, being in a pub at another away and having a really good chat with a Sheffield Wednesday fan and his son so I am a bit ambivalent about Sheffield Wednesday. They do have A problem with their collective ego, but I’m sure the average fan is okay. They have been a bit of a yo-yo club in any case a bit like us so it won’t be too much of a shock if they were relegated.
