Other than the bottled second yellow, I didn't see anything especially wrong with the referee. He was fairly lenient, but that applied to both sides.
The ref for the Leicester game was very fussy, but again was balanced in that.2 -

What do we want, an echo chamber of constant positivity even when we lose?
The performance was shit, it is ok to say that and talk about it.
It is the most normal thing in football to discuss a game positively or negatively. It's passion.
I feel like your view is very different to mine on this game. You have said we didn't play shit, but then described a number of factors as to why it could be seen as a shit performance.
We didn't deserve anything from that game. Leicester yes, definitely, Bristol City yes, this game no. QPR defended well and had their tactics spot on, we offered nothing really and came away with nothing.
Play like that against Millwall and they will genuinely run riot, they're a much better side than QPR.

The game pivoted on two bad refereeing decisions.
The foul on TC prior to their goal not given, and the failure to give a 2nd yellow for the foul on Kelman (or was it Knibbs?).
A different ref, a different result. We could have won it on momentum.3 -
Looking at the table and seeing we have more points then Ipswich and sheff utd is a comfort. We’re 4 games in and have 4 points already just need another 40 and the season will be a success I think
3-1 flattered them but we tried going for it just wasn’t good enough. I do fear how we will fair against a lot better opposition.2 - Sponsored links:

Ref wasn't perfect but claiming a different ref meant a different result is clutching at straws.2 -

Even if he gives the foul the other way for TC handling the ball, at least we can organise and defend the free kick4 -

Good to see sides like Hull, Oxford and Sheffield Wednesday really struggling though as those are our competition ultimately. I would be a lot more concerned if they were showing signs of life.

Hull, Oxford and Sheff Wed were my 3 to go down before the season. Happy that they all look like they are struggling6 -

NJ teams always start slow. Same with his Luton teams and us last year. Just trust in the process, the team will improve, we are not that far away.3

Middle ground anyone?4

We’ll learn from this and keep improving overall - it’s what NJ teams do.There will still be off days sprinkled in there, just like there were yesterday for the likes of Kayne Ramsay who played like a Harrogate Town right back.3

As others have said, it's not the time for full and absolute head loss. When 2/4 results (Watford and Bristol City) and arguably 3/4 performances (Watford, Bristol City and Leicester) are ones that I've believe are objectively good for our return to the level, I'm not going to think the sky is falling after a what I consider to be a below par performance away to QPR. The result absolutely flattered them - more than anything, it was the defending for the two goals that made me most disappointed, because we have been more resolute. It's unlikely we will play any other way under NJ this season, but QPR were absolutely there for the taking if we were more more attacking and played to our strengths of getting ball to feet.
The common trend that has value for discourse is the patterns of attacking play and how a couple of midfielders (and their tactical direction) accounts for that. As much as people wish to throw shade at TC or Kelman, for example, I feel they are being starved of any opportunities. NJ has a very clear vision of how he wants his teams to attack and these players will follow that if they want to play. We're still having players bed in and learn this, but my opinion is that this is very much linked to how our midfield functions.
I do hope this is just a bit of a slow start and not dissimilar in some ways to the start last year. I remain in the camp of anything above relegation was always going to be the aim - the signings we made gave confidence for the potential of more (which we could absolutely still achieve). The tight games are always going to be a constant of the way NJ sets his teams up. We are still finding our way with the new players, as they fit into NJs systems of play. It doesn't take a particularly smart person that scoring goals will likely be a challenge this year - it's just how we adjust to get them.
NJ has shown he can adapt in the past, and knows the importance of the Millwall game to us as fans. I think we'll see the reaction then - it is still only August!8 -
It's all a bit negative for me. Yesterday was disappointing but people need to realise we will lose more than we win this season. The boys need our full backing and I'm confident Jones can keep us out of the bottom 3.
Home form is the key to staying afloat8 -
Also don't understand the Kaminski pelters that he got on the match thread. The opening goal basically wrong foots him so harsh to blame him for letting it in. The defending was poor for all 3 goals so I don't think the keeper should be blamed.5

Coventry picked up an unnecessary yellow in the first half. Without that I suspect he would have pulled their player down to stop the move. In a way, that yellow is as much to blame as TC for the goal...10 -
Need to pick the pace up, basic marking and more important of all they have got to toughen up, bullied off the ball far to much yesterday.2

At one stage yesterday we had a two on two attack but the ref blew up for a Rangers player down. Head injury? The medics did no concussion checks and the ref restarted play by giving them a drop ball.
WTF?1
