Harvey Knibbs was their talisman - his presence on the pitch, a big personality, tenacious and involved with everything.
Plus goals galore!
There loss is our gain.4 -

I wonder if Jones has signed Knibbs to play with Coventry in midfield as that box to box player while Coventry covers, and has other plans for the 10? Knibbs played as a central midfielder almost every game last season, was mainly used as an attacking midfielder prior to that in 23/24:

Don’t think Knibbs as an 8 works for us in the Champiosnhip yet. In L1 it would work perfectly but when under the cosh we’ll want a more defensively minded 8 like Doc or JRC. Someone else mentioned it above but his ability to play as an 8 helps in the system we played last year as the 10 is expected to drop back1

Knibbs couldn't be anymore of a Nathan Jones player if he tried. Big, strong, athletic, work rates, has goals in him, can tackle, can cover a number of positions, great fitness record, good character by all accounts, versatile, a player on the up, hungry. The list could go on.
For me, this is the most exciting signing since JBG. I don't think we could have signed a better player for what we needed personally. Delighted doesn't do it justice, I firmly believe he will be the catalyst to our surivival.
I am utterly convinced he will be our player of the season, and I see him being a firm fan favourite in general.
A very warm welcome Harvey Knibbs. It's doubtful the owners read here, but thank you for spending money and giving us a fighting chance, that's all we can ask for as fans. 👍🏻1 -
À lot of posters questioning Docherty's role.
Obviously as cover for Coventry or as a game finisher to close games out.
But he's perhaps our current 'Darren Pratley'.....and we saw how his game suited the Championship better than League One.
Maybe we'll be surprised? 🤔

It will be interesting to see if Jones uses him in the Berry AM role from last year or if we will see a more fluid midfield formation this year2 -

Docherty still has a part to play of course, and we don’t know what injuries we might pick up or how players will settle into the Championship, so some may get more game time than we expect.2 - Sponsored links:

I'd quite like to see us play a 433, Coventry in that defensive role and then Knibbs on the right and Donley on the left if we pull that move off (wishful thinking) on a side note, Coventry's heat map BTW, my word, some player.

He hasn't played any pre season games with Reading. Maybe that's a knock or clearly not match fit4
