If you would have asked me who I wanted Charlton to sign for this season, Knibbs and Kelman were in my top5, I never thought we could get them both, I am astounded.
Knibbs couldn't be anymore of a Nathan Jones player if he tried. Big, strong, athletic, work rates, has goals in him, can tackle, can cover a number of positions, great fitness record, good character by all accounts, versatile, a player on the up, hungry. The list could go on.
For me, this is the most exciting signing since JBG. I don't think we could have signed a better player for what we needed personally. Delighted doesn't do it justice, I firmly believe he will be the catalyst to our surivival.
I am utterly convinced he will be our player of the season, and I see him being a firm fan favourite in general.
A very warm welcome Harvey Knibbs. It's doubtful the owners read here, but thank you for spending money and giving us a fighting chance, that's all we can ask for as fans. 👍🏻
No wonder Jones hugged the owner at Wembley! Genuinely excited by this signing. It really is a great time to be a Charlton supporter; and why wouldn’t you buy a season ticket? 🎟️ Thank you Mr Jones and thank you the owners.
I’m quietly optimistic. Seems a good player on paper but I’m waiting for the season to start to see how he and all the other new players gel together.
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head Rob, it will probably take 1/2 the season for Nathan to find out his best team, we’re going to have to be patient, I think results will be up and down, as there’s so many good teams in this division, and it’s so competitive, anyone can beat anyone.
If we’re are going to do well / stay up, for me it’s our form at the valley that will determine it / coupled with getting a system away from home, where we can nick the odd point or win away from home.
I still don’t really know what’s gone on this week, as I thought Knibbs was 100% not happening, so don’t know what the hold up was, wages / fees I guess, but whatever, he’s here now, might be too soon to get any minutes today?
It's probably reasonable to speculate that if Reading hadn't lost Smith to Wrexham, they would have made the play offs. That in spite of their ownership problems.
I was really happy to have avoided them, as I was Stockport in the play offs.
They've lost Mbengue, Knibbs and Smith. However they still have that excellent keeper, Savage and Wing. They were a good team.
I'd still like Wing tbh, but that's me being greedy.

savage would be quality next to Coventry imo.
He’s the player I’ve been interested in, wonder what his value is though?

Welcome Harvey, your drawn out arrival has caused much wailing and gnashing of teeth, now you're here the sighs of relief are loud and clear.
Harvey's dad Ralph Knibbs was a top class rugby union centre for Bristol in the 1980s & 90s, one of the very few top class Black RU players in that era. He was called up for England but was never capped as (mainly) he refused to tour what was at that time, apartheid South Africa. He came close to being murdered by a transgender person, (read all about it in Wiki)
Anyway, Harvey comes from very tough 'stock' and he is sure to be a hit with us Addicks fans

I remember his dad. Didn't know Harvey was his lad. A nice story to share, thank you.

TBH I'd have been no more likely to name Kelman than Yamal or Bellingham, as I couldn't see how we were ever likely to be able to sign someone like Kelman
Can one of those Lifers who’s good at finding tweets from rival fans saying stuff like, ‘Bloody hell, look who Charlton have signed now. Seriously impressed’ find a tweet from a rival fan saying ‘Bloody hell, look who Charlton have signed now. Seriously impressed’ and post it on here.
Interesting to see them mentioning him playing as a pressing No8 as opposed to a No10. Fully expect he'll play the advanced role for us but something interesting I noticed there.

Harvey Knibbs brother is also Alex Knibbs, an athlete. Guess where he is associated to? Amber Valley Athletics club. It was fate Harvey would join his brother and be associated with another Valley
Must have a very good gene pool that family to have had a pro rugby player, football player, and an athletic sprinter all in 2 generations.
