I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o
Its a sweet dream but Dowman has been heralded for years by those with contacts in football, he is a potential generational talent. No way does he get risked for a loan spell in EFL.
Yeah Dowman is meant to be " the one" in terms of Arsenals academy. He'll be straight around their first team. I do wonder if there could be a later window PL loan signing though.

Maybe but i think Arteta will do seem to Pep does with young talent, even if they wont play as much he will see more benefit to them being around the first team.

Pep doesn’t send players he thinks have first team potential out on loan

Is Dowman too young for a loan (15)? Same goes for Rio of liverpool. Scored another good goal on tuesday. Would likely improve us but is 16

Knibbs has signed according to the goat @Goddenole. Signed on Tuesday and was at the game last night and went through running after the game with the team.
Sorry away on holiday but true, I’ve been told all signed (I don’t know why there is a delay in announcing). He was there last night too and took part in the running drills after the game. Hopefully announced tomorrow.
If true, I wonder if it's because Reading are hoping to announce their replacement first.
If he's signed then he is our player. Why would we care what Reading want us to do. Nothing to do with them. Or do we then have to wait for team x to sign a player before they let Reading announced they've signed a player.....so that we can announce we've signed Knibbs. Oh wait......but what about team y who won't let team x announced they've signed their player, so won't let Reading announced they've signed their player and so we can't announce signing Knibbs. And what about team z who want to sign...........

    Get my drift
Please sign off all your posts with this from now on, it’s brilliant

I reckon that our Nathan is blocking any news on signings, pending or signed, as revenge for us not believing in him last Autumn, revenge is a mighty powerful thing.

As if a manager would go back to his old club to sign players. Nathan Jones would never do that  ;)

There is a politeness between clubs, sometimes observed, sometimes not, of coordinating announcements.

The Carey deal being announced just before the Small deal is possibly an example.

So, yes it is possible that Reading have asked us to hold fire on announcing the Knibbs deal until they have a signing of their own to publicise.

Or it could be nothing to do with it and we've just not said anything due to the recent tragedy or because he's not signed.

Don’t really see how someone who not started the job will have an affect on transfers he not had an affect on any of the others ?? …. It was solely down to the news of the young lad that delayed it

So far you’ve been spot on but I really doubt he was running after the game as there were a lot of Charlton fans there and would have been spotted.
Would mean Cawley will have seen him….
exactly and I’m sure he would have tweeted that it was done by now, I still think we’ll get him just can’t see how he was at a game with Charlton fans and no one has seen him.
Rich Cawley is smart enough to keep some things to himself if asked to by the club. Keeping the trust of his sources is key.

Perhaps there is a suggestion that Murphy might have been doing stuff in the background before officially taking up his position at The Valley. Why else would the article even link the two ?

If that was the case the club would face sanctions.

The reality is that the journalist has to produce X amount of articles a week and has managed to churn one out based on a (wrong) hunch

Then the journo has missed a trick. There are two article there. Knibbs and Murphy. He’s managed to get one article out of a possible two. Defeating the object of having to produce X articles per week ?

Dowman and Salmon are both 15, there is no way any PL club loans 15 year olds out at all, never mind to the championship.

Dowman is reported to be the best young talent to come out of a PL academy since Rooney so there's no way he'll be loaned anyway, he'll be in and around their first team squad.

Agree, but the important thing is this comes from the Reading end so should end the worrying on here he’s going to turn up at Wrexham or Sheff Utd.

I wonder if it's Knibbs or a PL loan attacking player or if both could still be on the table.

The links to the likes of Donley and Mikey Moore are very interesting.

Maybe the journo has confused the actual signing /registration of the player with the official public announcement?

Yes because a local Reading paper will be reporting on the non appointment of our CEO. He’s found a piece of news about us and tried to put a Reading spin on it

Moore’s gone on loan to Rangers. As for getting both wouldn’t be likely will leave us with 9 midfielders so unless you know anyone ready to take an injured Berry and Taylor and somehow convince Jones to get over his Karoy obsession  can only see us signing one

Moore sounds like it's done with Rangers for season long loan.

Spurs want Donley to have Championship loan to see what he can do. But I haven't seen any actual clubs linked to him.

Yeah I knew Moore was off to Rangers, was an interesting player to be linked with given he's an out and out winger naturally.

I wonder if we could do something late in the window if Taylor was fit enough to go. I know obviously the priority has to be an RWB.

I can’t see anymore midfielders joining, and with loans we can’t guarantee game time that a PL club would expect so that makes it even less likely.
