But I thought he was on the pitch after the game?

Whilst I don’t doubt that there are some genuine ITK posters, it shows how some are just absolutely waffling.

Two weeks ago Sheff Utd manager admitted that they were only looking at the free and out of contract markets .. as they were not in a position to pay a fee …..
Are they still receiving parachute payments?

I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o
Its a sweet dream but Dowman has been heralded for years by those with contacts in football, he is a potential generational talent. No way does he get risked for a loan spell in EFL.
Yeah Dowman is meant to be " the one" in terms of Arsenals academy. He'll be straight around their first team. I do wonder if there could be a later window PL loan signing though.
The same was said of Charlie Patino in the Arsenal Academy a few years ago. He’s now playing second tier in Spain and his transfermart value has gone from a high of €12,000,000 to his current rate of €600,000

it doesn’t always go to plan
Thats a massive false equivalence, Patino was never heralded and as acclaimed as Dowman has been. Patino was over exaggerated by a few Arsenal fans. As i said previously, those ITK in football have been hearing about Dowman for some years since he was 12/13, in the same manner people did about Lamal, Messi, Wilshere (admittedly that one didnt work out), Bellingham, CR7. Patino wasn't really talked about until he was 16/17 and made a few appearances.
  • so wonder who we are in for now in this position ?

Last I heard, couple of weeks ago, was that PL clubs were asking us to pay full wages for loans and we were unwilling to do so.
Bloody right too. If these clubs want to hoover up and then stockpile young talent on inflated wages then that's on them. Just wished clubs would take a tougher stance on the likes of Chelsea and stop taking their players on loan
    Agreed. Good on Charlton.

There's never been more money in the PL. The audacity of PL clubs to request this... just boils down to sheer greed.
They’re all balls deep in financial commitments that for most of them are unsustainable and they fear the disaster that would be relegation. It’s absolutely mad economics and I hope that the majority of the greedy bastards come a cropper.

Exactly.  There was always the chance once the rumours started.

Hahaha these ‘ITK’s’ saying it was a done and he’d signed and completed his medical. People parroting off others pretending to be read in.
No bigger clown than this one on the other forum ‘as I have been saying all week he has signed’  it’s genuinely sad when grown men try to pretend to be in the know
Agreed, embarrassing. Few people have been caught right out on this one.

Feel like knibbs would have been a key signing for us.. bit of a blow if it doesn't happen. Would add much needed physicality and goals

The tone of the interview would suggest something else has gone on, "trying to console Harvey" was the indication, no we have made a decision not to proceed for whatever reason I feel...

Sonny Carey in the 10 it is then. Unless we have someone else lined up.

Yeah maybe a failed medical. Kinda hope it is that rather than him turning us down.
I would be very surprised if he failed a medical based on some of the players that have got through the net here even recently.

He's been ever present for 4 seasons, passed medicals with Cambridge and Reading.

Will be interesting to see if we find out more or it will be left there. I hope it's something that isn't completely dead and a deal that can still be made, but that seems very unlikely, not something that happens often in football.

This is tough, that would have been the business of the summer and he was everything we needed in this team, have to hope we have alternatives now

Feels like the first hiccup we’ve had in a while. I think it’s a shame as I feel like he would have been so perfect for the way Jones wants us to play.

It is an ‘as things stand’ maybe a deal can be agreed.

Apparently has a knee issue but yeah gutted about this one falling through, just as everything was looking up.

Yeah kind of getting that impression myself, have they messed around with the Fee? - Unless we've noticed something in the medical and rather than pull out, have decided to re-negotiate

I read a comment online from someone supposedly "ITK" suggesting that Reading were milking as much as they could from the deal to aid their own transfer business. Maybe we walked away.
