Dowman and Salmon are both 15, there is no way any PL club loans 15 year olds out at all, never mind to the championship.CafcWest said:I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o
Dowman is reported to be the best young talent to come out of a PL academy since Rooney so there's no way he'll be loaned anyway, he'll be in and around their first team squad.
A 15 year old will go to the school that Arsenal have picked for him; the same thing happens at Charlton when at least from 16 most academy players go to a school where some other scholars go and the relationship is strong between School and club.
Sounds like Dowman is already training with the 1st team on occasions but will also train with his own age or at least the U18 as they won't want him isolated from his own peer group.
Not certain 15 year olds being tackled by players double their age when they are still young and growing is supported by sport science but no way can he learn more that training at Arsenal, going to a high standard school for his general education.
The kid is going no where other than Real Madrid!!!

Can’t be loaned until you have a pro contract which can only happen at 17 anyway right?0

Last I heard, couple of weeks ago, was that PL clubs were asking us to pay full wages for loans and we were unwilling to do so.18

Oh it’s only a q&a

As you will be aware CAFC have the cream of our young schoolboys 'poached' as Category A Academies have carte blanche on the younger age group which have a schoolboy registration which will have a scale of compensation but not much at the younger ages.
If it wasn't for Joe Gomez's dad I doubt Joe would've signed his last contract with CAFC which we haven't made that much from as Joe is still at Liverpool !0 -

He's a bit old now.....and a left back. We're looking for a right back / right wing back.FULLERpromise said:Sir Chris Powell7 -

The same was said of Charlie Patino in the Arsenal Academy a few years ago. He’s now playing second tier in Spain and his transfermart value has gone from a high of €12,000,000 to his current rate of €600,000MarcusH26 said:
Yeah Dowman is meant to be " the one" in terms of Arsenals academy. He'll be straight around their first team. I do wonder if there could be a later window PL loan signing though.Radostanradical said:
Its a sweet dream but Dowman has been heralded for years by those with contacts in football, he is a potential generational talent. No way does he get risked for a loan spell in EFL.CafcWest said:I’m sure one of these Arsenal youngsters would benefit from a loan to a London-based Championship club: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0j985j9p77o

Thinks going on today. I'm expecting something to happen later.1

There's a name I've not heard for a few years! Patino had huge hype and a pretty decent loan at Blackpool, didn't know he was now in Spanish 2nd div.Swisdom said:

Bloody right too. If these clubs want to hoover up and then stockpile young talent on inflated wages then that's on them. Just wished clubs would take a tougher stance on the likes of Chelsea and stop taking their players on loanHenry Irving said:Last I heard, couple of weeks ago, was that PL clubs were asking us to pay full wages for loans and we were unwilling to do so.24 -
I hope Dowman doesn’t make the same mistake by plying his trade in the English leagues. Our football here is based upon pace & power.Swisdom said:

The championship is in general quite technical . I wouldn’t be sending a young skilled midfield to us to watch Macca smash it up to a big lad .

There's never been more money in the PL. The audacity of PL clubs to request this... just boils down to sheer greed.5 -
I hope that’s not our tactic next year as the only ‘big lad’ we’ve got is not very good at winning long balls in the air.wmcf123 said:LBerkshire1970 said:

We’ll see plenty of long balls but they’ll be over the top to wide players.
I do agree with you though that if I was a young creative player, Charlton wouldn’t be the best place for me.0 -
