If Cawley hadn’t already tweeted about it I’d be fully on the Sheff Utd train.

But when was the last time Cawley opened put a player’s name out there and then the deal fell through? He only does that when the deal is already signed or it’s at the goal line.

People are just flapping because it hasn’t been announced today like they assumed.

It could still be announced tonight. Or tomorrow. No rush.
Mbengue. That was literally this window. Cawley reporting it ONLY means the interest us genuine, it does not mean that it will happen (though it does make it look more likely.)

Edit: Actually it was Offiah. But the point still counts 😂

It was Offiah - Cawley never mentioned Mbengue.

If it was a done deal there is no reason whatsoever why they wouldn’t have announced it today.

All suggests it’s not done. Hope I’m wrong
That’s not true though is it?

The time it’s announced is agreed between the two clubs.

Reading may want to announce a signing of their own that they’re close to completing first. Or they may want it held back for other reasons.
according to the local Reading newspaper .. Reading aim to fill 'big gap' left by Knibbs exit before Lincoln City opener
according to this report, Hunt, the Reading manager says that Knibbs to Charlton is a done deal, BUT as the poet wrote .. 'Many a slip twixt the cup and the lip'

But that was a few days ago. Things can change.

I can’t see Kanu going Wimbledon now, they have just signed Danilo Orsi as well.
Shame doubt there’s a better loan move out there then Wimbledon in terms of location
, play style, management, level etc. feel sorry for him feels like we’re not doing the best we can for his development
How on earth have you come to that conclusion?!
    maybe he jumped?

I've missed a good Charlton Life 2+2=5 panic, this transfer window has been far too orderly

Phew.  Just asked AI (Gemini) where is Harvey Knibbs?  Panic over.

    Sheffield United it is then.

I would panic if he didn't sign as he's quality and I think we would have struggled to get better for the price. Fortunately a deal was agreed and he is set to sign as reported.

Put your concerns elsewhere I would say, like will there be enough stock that we can all get a Hawaiian Charlton shirt.
anyone who wants a Hawaiian Charlton shirt will get one.

We waited a few days after Kelman, Apter, Olaofe etc were apparently "done" before they were announced so I don't think we need to be unduly worried

I think it is encouraging. Twice as many panicking means our support has doubled.

Again, not sure people are panicking. Each to their own

  • This whole thing smacks of Ricky Holmes.

I remember the sneaky way he slithered up there behind our backs and appeared in the stands at a match they were playing.  I was outraged at the time and even more outraged at the Charlton fans who wished him well.

Listen Knibbs.  Do the right thing, sign on the dotted line for Charlton Athletic and be done with it.

Screw that, I’d sign for Sheffield United over Charlton given the choice and I’m a Charlton fan!

No one is losing their mind over it. It’s just obviously not as ‘done deal’ as some thought
