Parkinson takes an early wicket - Hammond caught well by Rogers on the boundary.
62-3 (7.2)1 -
That's very kind of you. Unfortunately I'll be at Bickley watching my son keep and open (for the first time in a couple of years) against Dartford. Hope you have a great birthday and that your mate's son does well.Lordflashheart said:Addick Addict said:

@Lordflashheart's comment. Great minds really do exist. In the Kent supporters anyway.
Correct - BTW I’m 55 on Saturday - I will be at Hesketh Park on Saturday to watch my mate’s son play for Dartford 2’s (who have not started the season well 🙄) - so if you fancy some Dart’s cricket and a beer, come on up (I will, as usual, have a CAFC polo on)
Kent tonight - well unless something mega happens, we are losing0 -
Evison's "pace off" approach has been a real success both in the last game and this.0
-
76-3 (10)
Gloucs require another 821 -
Agar cleans up Price only for it be called a "no ball"0
-
Parkinson drops one off his own bowling.0
-
Beyond poor to drop that0
-
Apart from that drop, Parkinson has bowled superbly on this surface to date with 3 overs 1-15
89-3 (12)1 -
It’s not ‘unfortunately’ - you are watching your son - that mattersAddick Addict said:

A couple of not so good overs from Evison and Parkinson
117-3 (14)
Just 41 off 6 overs1 -

Curiously, Stewart hasn't bowled a ball so far tonight. It looks like Jaydn is on the field but I haven't heard if Stewart has gone off injured.0
-
23 off 24. The game is all but gone.0
-
Fielding has been so sloppy and slow tonight!0
-
Agar expensive yet again0

Gloucs win for the first time this season in defeating Kent by 7 wickets with 10 balls to spare. The fear that we were 20 or so short in our innings was proven to be the difference albeit that Gloucs were on the better side of luck in theirs what with the "no ball" decision and number of balls falling into gaps.2

Meanwhile Worcs' new 17 year old opener has not only saved our season, but world peace as well https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/isaac-mohammed-14427561

Just home after a disappointing match , summarised perfectly by AA IMO.Addick Addict said:Gloucs win for the first time this season in defeating Kent by 7 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Too few glimmers of hope tonight on a lovely summer's evening, which almost looked as though our pointless opponents wanted this one more than the Spitfires....
A plucky partnership between Harry & Sam wasn't enough to post a decent total for Gloucs to chase which they did with the aid of a no ball & a dropped catch ....Not our night.
I'm still pinning my hopes on the One Dayers when other counties will surely be missing more of their stars to The Hundred ( spit) than we shall.
We can but hope.....2 -
A brilliant article. Thanks for drawing attention to it.fenaddick said:Excellent interview here with Wes Agar about living with OCD

Well I really am confused now. Jaydn was on for Leaning (who has a hamstring issue) and not Stewart. So why did the latter not bowl a ball? We didn't pick up a wicket in the final dozen or so overs so surely it was worth giving him one over at least. If there was no intention to do so then perhaps we should have played another batter.Addick Addict said:Curiously, Stewart hasn't bowled a ball so far tonight. Anyway, Leaning is included along with Joe Denly in a 14-man squad for the game against Essex tomorrow.

Just listening to Hollioake’s post match comments. Surprised he said players were tired. They only been playing T20. Secondly, after tomorrow’s game they’re returning to Canterbury before heading off to Blackpool at 10am the next day. Surely they could hole up overnight somewhere in Essex and go from there? Why the need to go to Canterbury? Seems odd.0

That's probably a combination of a number of things. Some of the players won't be in the T20 squad (potentially the likes of Compton, Kashif Ali, Garrett and Quinn) and others that won't be in the CC squad (Billings, Klaassen and Rogers), it's cheaper not to book an extra night in a hotel for probably 18 people, it's one less night away for the players from their families and the difference between going from Chelmsford or Canterbury is only going to save about 40 minutes on a journey of 5 hours plus.Phil said:Just listening to Hollioake’s post match comments. Ah ok makes more sense. Thanks for that AA.1

The South Asian Cricket Academy lost in a 3-day game to Surrey 2s ending today. In that match, a couple of our former players featured for SACA - Arafat Bhuiyan (21-2-90-0) and Hamidullah Qadri who returned somewhat contrasting figures in the two innings - 5-0-42-0 and 7.5-4-16-6. Surrey won by 1 wicket and it seems that Qadri almost single handedly got them over the line.0

Qadri was always fairly talented and hardly done by imo0

As a sufferer of OCD I admire Agar’s candour.3

Would you want to stay in Essex any longer than you had to?Phil said:Just listening to Hollioake’s post match comments. Surprised he said players were tired. They only been playing T20. He's still only 24 which seems strange but then he made his debut for Derbyshire aged 16. He now plays for Norfolk and isn't really imposing himself for them - 6 wickets in 6 matches (50 over games) at 28.67 with an E/R of just under 5.Leuth said:Qadri was always fairly talented and hardly done by imo
With the desire to play spinners at an all time low in county cricket, you really have to be something special to force yourself in. Kent have played numerous red and white ball matches without even their number one (and their only frontline spinner in the squad), Parkinson and England have as their main man someone who doesn't get picked for his county.0 -

Yesterday we handed Gloucestershire their first win in this year's competition.
Essex have just lost to Middlesex by 1 run leaving them winless.
I am going tomorrow (our annual jaunt to watch ritual Kent humiliation).
Is anyone going to suggest an outcome other than a very painful evening watching our lads make a complete arse of themselves?1 -

Kent batting first.1
