I was impressed with Finch's cameo, I don't remember him playing those funky shots before, I assume he has been working on this part of his game.
He's dad came from Bermondsey and was a Docker.
But I promise you Zak is Charlton
It's great to hear when after having an education Zak came over to the light from the dark Dystopian docker's den.
But as hard as we tried we couldn't get Terry to convert.
Knowing you and your brother you probably took him out and got Zak bolloxed1 -

212 all out and a lead of exactly 100 for us
The youngster I have mentioned as one to watch, 17 year old left arm spinning all rounder, Oliver Butterfill, cleaned up the tail with 3-19.3 -
Is another of our youngsters Leo Selvey-Clinton anything to do with the former players Grahame, Richard and Paul Clinton? According to their wiki pages, their full name is Selvey Clinton (no hyphen).0

Leicestershire

Richard Johnson sacked by Middlesex. The side that beat us in the CC is a poor one which irks even more given our defeat by 2 wickets

Tear is someone I'm surprised we've not loaned out to get him some regular cricket , Simpson will always be the No1 with the gloves and we've got Oli Carter as cover.0 -

The other thing about Tear is that he does get called up for Scotland quite a lot so gains experience there - he's played four times this month for them and that's going to be a barrier in itself to a loan. Certainly come the 50 over comp, if he isn't in the Sussex side and hasn't got Scotland commitments, I would think that there might be openings at a few other counties that are decimated by that other distraction of a "tournament".1 -
Kent have set Notts 288 to win. In reply they are 36-1 and Quinn has got Hameed trapped LBW. Whether he will be match fit for Sunday will have to be seen but with current figures of 10-2-31-4 and those wickets being Notts top three including Hameed, twice, he has to be pushing for a recall if so.3

Yeah Oli Carter is someone I've never quite been convinced by in any format yet. If Farbrace takes the same approach to the ODC as last season then it will be a very young Sussex side that's more about giving time in the middle to younger players like Tear as opposed to going full strength and trying to win it. Will probably lose Tom Alsop anyway to The Hundred at least.1 -
Assuming Laurie Evans does play for Dartford against Bickley on Saturday, it will bring back some poignant memories of the Kent v Warwickshire game that was eventually abandoned some 12 years ago due to a floodlight going out.
We were, naturally, somewhat disappointed that the game had been stopped but not as angry as our recently departed friend, Mike Wren (aka Chirpy and Riviera). So much so that he grabbed a then 10 year old Seb's bat and stormed to the middle in an attempt to prove that conditions, even with the floodlight out, were playable.
All the Warwickshire fielders stood around apart from, that is, Laurie Evans, who decided to bowl one to Mike. The batter always maintained that he middled that ball but the photo does seem to evidence those of us who thought it was a thick edge. He duly raised his bat, lapping up the applause before the stewards escorted him off the pitch to the accompaniment of boos. We thought that Mike was going to be taken out of the ground but he was eventually allowed to return to his seat.
We still have that bat. Somehow, given his size now, I don't think I'll be able to persuade Seb to use it on Saturday!

Notts 2s won by 2 wickets. One of those rare 2s games where a number of the first team squad get meaningful time in the middle against an equally competent opposition.0

Either this pitch is a bit "sticky" or we've just not batted very well on it. We'll know come the second innings.0
