Scott leaves and we lose
Shows that players, nearly all of whom he signed, were loyal to him and distracted. Coventry prime example of that making the mistake for the goal.19 -

What's the GM's role in NFL - genuine question because I have no idea.0 -

It is interesting that on the one hand fans were told that people don’t tend to have expertise on both the business side and football side, yet at the same time he moved from one to the other at Charlton.
Despite his playing background, Rodwell’s experience is on the business side. The reasons he was shuffled across were about presentation and accountability, I believe.
As for why there might be more change, the club is/will be a long way short of the claims made about the business, despite some benefits from actually having management. These will tell in the end.0 -

You'd not think so given his 'goodbye' to us.
What’s the next move from the owners when the non executive charirman hands in his next report or deal more from his last one0 -

Not sure I'd want Curbs in the same way I didn't really want Jacko, Powell or Bowyer to come in as manager last season. I don't want any legacies being tainted. I also think it's valid to say he's been out the game too long. Could possibly see the benefit if someone like Pearce was the manager but want Jones need is a brilliant head scout and a director of football to handle negotiations and keep an eye on the academy. Two different roles, neither of which scream Curbs to me5

There is still, as far as a I know, a sporting director at the club in the person of Simon Lenagan.
He was certainly announced as such some time ago.
Maybe he'll be more in the limelight now or perhaps he'll leave as well.3 -
Curbs as a board director in the way that Derek Ufton was, to offer occasional support and guidance from his vast experience and his network within football, yes.
As a working director of football I just can't see it. Not because he's not capable but he seems very comfortable in retirement so why take on an arduous full time roll now?18 -

Hadn't noticed the phil chapple thread before - can't be a coincidence that scott leaves the week after chapple does a Q and A at Charlton - new head of recruitment incoming i'd say8

Currently director of football at Danish club Nykøbing FC.
If 'Technical' is really a thing I can't think of a better candidate.11 -
There is probably a place for Curbs in an advisory role somewhere at the club. But he should definitely not be the one to replace Scott in that type of role
I would have serious doubts whether Curbs wants to commit to a full time employment at this stage of his life and what would be a very demanding job. To me he seems quite happy doing bits and pieces punditry work and enjoying holidays/family time. Plus I’m not sure how clued up he is on players we’d be looking at for this level3 -

NJ probably said more about his thoughts on Scott in what he didn’t say. Don’t think there’s any love lost there.
Sparing in his praise and moved straight on to what the plan is.9
