I think Jones wanting total recruitment authority made Scott’s role superfluous. I also suspect that the owners wanted value for money and Scott’s role was not only redundant but too expensive. I don’t see him replaced. Money saved I hope is added to Smalls offer.
Absolutely hilarious that of the 3 players he mentions in his leaving ramble he was only really involved with signing one of them. Ramsey and Small came totally out of the blue and at exactly the moment Jones took over.
Absolute waste of wages. Hopefully Roswell goes next as I have no idea what he does either.
The way he treated Dobbo was unforgivable. Allowed the best club captain we’d had in years to walk away for free because he didn’t rate him. Amateurish.

I'm not here to defend Andy Scott but our midfield looks far better now than it ever did when Dobson was in the side.
Feel like what we do next here is really important. Things are going well right now but even successful managers always have a relatively short tenure compared to fans and (ideally) owners. How do we make sure we get and keep an edge in scouting/analytics/conditioning/etc? How do we build a club that can consistently punch above its financial weight by being clever like Brighton/Brentford have done? Do we have people at the club who can do that? Who should we hire now if not?

Got to hope we’ve got a better plan than what we’ve had.
Feel that this has been a long time in the planning.
My view is the owners have looked at the structure and costs and identified where cost savings and efficiencies can be made.
Waiting until after the window to announce it makes sense. Why rock the boat when we needed to sign players?
The structure has seemed top heavy for a league one side for a while
On Scott himself he is experinced as a manager and recruiter which ranks him way above Driesen or Sandgaard Jnr but his successes at Charlton were outweighed by his failures.
It seems the power shifted when Jones came in.
The owners bought into Jones' vision so Scott was left as a lame duck.
The original package has now lost Holden and Scott.

People are rightly stating he was the one who gave us Appleton. But We'd also do well to remember he single handedly cast Holden upon us. A bizarre choice who's obvious lack of experience shone through once the nice bloke, new manager bounce wore off.
Out of interest does anyone know who did the scouting and made the decision to get Ramsey, Lloyd Jones and Thierry Small to CAFC?
We have quite a few on CL who are ITK so what's the answer ?
We know Scott was behind some duds and Michael Appleton was one of his worse decisions.
The theory is that Jones brought Ramsay and Small in. He’d worked with them both before and when Jones was rumoured but not announced there were rumours from ITKs that he had a couple of players lined up
If I remember correctly, I think Lloyd Jones signed before the takeover, so would have been Holden’s signing
Coventry is pretty much the only Andy Scott success story in terms of recruitment. Outside of that, bringing in Will Abbott another of his few successes

We've had a series of weird external appointments in recent years. Indeed when compared to Adkins and Holden, Appleton, if uninspiring, did make some sort of sense.

Must admit I'm intrigued to see where Scott ends up next.

The writing was on the wall when NJ insisted he was "manager" rather than "head coach"...

I can see more changes before the summer.

I shouldn’t be surprised if Scott was given 6 months notice back then.
