Was sitting 3 rows back from NJ, can 100% confirm he told AMB to go down to force a reset, was also great entertainment watching NJ and TC doing a sprint off.12

great that he did that coz thats what other managers have done to us - but - the cynical way injuries are used these days is getting a bit out of hand - often to run the clock down - head injury being the classic - well, there's a simple way to stop it - retrospective cards if found to be feigning and don't allow the whole team to have a huddle - the officials will catch up eventually once its reached ridiculous levelsEveryDayAddick said:Was sitting 3 rows back from NJ, can 100% confirm he told AMB to go down to force a reset, was also great entertainment watching NJ and TC doing a sprint off.1 -
Well done Nathan, but can see this being stamped on with all the players to stay away and inside the centre circle or their own penalty areas till the "injury" is sorted, has to happen soon...8

Agree 100 per cent, goalies are the only ones not required to leave the field for an injury, change it, less time wasting.1

Its name is The Covered End - just saying …..Stonewallpenalty19 said:
Why do the noisier crowd sit in the north upper? You can barely hear them. I'll Never understand why the whole lower tier isn't standing right behind the goal giving a presence rather than the inane muffled beat of a drum in the gods.Croydon said:
Can talk about kick off times all we want but the most damaging thing that's happened to the atmosphere at The Valley is doing the cheap STs in the lower Covered End.oohaahmortimer said:
Agreed , Stevenage made all the noise for the first hour , we had zero personality .Smithy said:Time for us as fans to step up now. The players deserve to see less empty seats and more noise from the stands.
This team effort and results wise is brilliant , performance wise it’s not quite hitting the spot as greedy as id like but in all honesty I just don’t think the appetite is there for a 12.30 or midweek match and 95% of fixtures in this league are just dull and don’t get the juices flowing for your on the fence punter .3 -
As its the 'keeper that's involved there is little the ref can do. He can't even make go off for treatment or keep him on the sidelines for 30 secs afterwards.DOUCHER said:

The rule makers make the silly rules....Nathan is just playing to them.0 -

The ref can stop all this nonsense. Players are not allowed to leave the field of play & managers are not allowed out of their technical area. Therefore never the twain should meet. But they do. A few yellow cards would soon sort the issue out.
Mainly started with Thomas Frank at Brentford. Even got his fucking whiteboard out at one point. Madness.1 -
I feel like Campbell hasn't got enough credit for his nearly goal. It was an absolute no touch rocket. Had 'worldy' written all over it but for a worldy save. Berry's finish was amazing but so was Campbell's shot.23

There was no save, Campbell's first time volley hit the corner of the post and bar...Berry's finish was world class...13 -
Louis Mendez reckons he saw footage to suggest the keeper tipped it onto the posteastterrace6168 said:KiwiValley said:I feel like Campbell hasn't got enough credit for his nearly goal. Kermogant was barely six foot against thugs but had the ability to gauge the trigecomy of a punt, back off, then move forward and collect a ball. I think Godden is in the same mould. Although shorter.4

The pass to Godden should have been obvious, and he delayed the pass which was a nailed on third, but saw the glory in his sights and basically made a complete cock up of the whole thing...Gammon said:Brilliant performance but I think Small has to shoot in that chance, the pass to Godden is blocked and difficult to Godden and he has worked space in the centre to a clean shot. The shot should've been better though.
I don't mind a player shooting in that position as a pass could be intercepted or just misplaced and the chance goes begging.
However.
In that position you have to do better. The shot was weak & not placed in either corner......the actions of a defender being played out of position. Small is great with what he gives us & the change in formation that led to him being deployed as a winger has turned our season around. He did score the winner a few games a go but he's had half a dozen similar chances since then & fluffed them. A natural.winger/attacking player would have buried at least half of them.

Thanks Sky (doesn't help that we've been a shit watch for most of the season)JohnnyH2 said:Fantastic performance once we had the AMB injury. Its so wrong and sums up so.much that is wrong with the current game, but all the time the refs and authorities allow it to happen, we need to use it (just don't criticise others when they do it against us).
AMB save (despite some saying he never touched it!) was brilliant and was as good as scoring a goal.
Need so many more to get inside The Valley as far too many open spaces in the stands0 -

If you are going to use language that is unpleasant for some why not use the correct spelling as that is how people read it, if you write "cnut" it will be read as "cunt" so why not spell it correctly in the first place - personally I would rather you didn't use that language but that is just my personal view and of course you have the right to type it as you wishoohaahmortimer said:the scum are wankier /cnutier /prickier more than the Croydon cnuts3 -
I also have great dislike for Palarse but would not type it Palasre

Deon Burton, according to his Wiki article, was 5'9, but was a great target man player for us in L1 under Parky, you don't have to be tall to play the role if you're strong and have good leap.Gisappointed said:Kermogant was barely six foot against thugs but had the ability to gauge the trigecomy of a punt, back off, then move forward and collect a ball. I've seen this in non league more than once. Indeed with the tiny crowds, you can easily hear the manager tell his keeper to go down injuredEveryDayAddick said:Was sitting 3 rows back from NJ, can 100% confirm he told AMB to go down to force a reset, was also great entertainment watching NJ and TC doing a sprint off.
Yes, it's taking liberties, but completely sensible within the rules. We NEEDED that time out.2 -
Thanks, @AKFABartram. I find it cathartic to knock out some post match thoughts, especially if the team’s performed badly - happily not the case recently, with the exception of Rotherham which is now looking like a blip.AFKABartram said:
Hey @Blucher we all post our inane ramblings on here to pass the time of life, but I just wanted to say how much i always enjoy your post-match quality contributions. More often than not, your articulate summary is better than what i could, and if i ever see a game differently than you, I question myself about my interpretation.Blucher said:A totally dominant second half performance saw us home to a thoroughly convincing win, with a final scoreline that, quite frankly, flattered Stevenage.
They generally found their men better than us for a chunk of the first half, without creating much in front of goal, save for AMB’s excellent one-on-one save at their forward’s feet when he was clean through. A pivotal moment, easily forgotten in the aftermath of a very comfortable 3 points. After we stopped making a series of unforced passing errors, we created a few half chances in the Stevenage box but it looked as if we were going in all square before some neat combination play saw Coventry pull a low ball across the penalty area for Godden to demonstrate his predatory instincts and maintain his current scoring run.
The early second half goal from Luke Berry infused further confidence into the side and we completely controlled the game thereafter, with Stevenage resigned to their fate. We could easily have had a couple more goals and the fact that our opponents didn’t muster a single shot on target tells its own story. Rarely have a Charlton side looked so composed.
We were sound defensively, moved the ball very well in midfield in the second half and were constantly threatening up top. A bravura all-round performance from Matty Godden and Tyreece Campbell wasn’t that far behind with his pace and trickery. Coventry was the glue that held the side together and, in addition to his goal, Luke Berry had some very good moments. He’s been better recently after a very tepid first half of the season and the presence of Gilbert on the bench can’t do any harm.
An excellent afternoon’s work and one that sets us up beautifully for Tuesday night’s encounter with Peterborough. We certainly owe them (and their garrulous chairman) one.
Anyway, thank you, and please keep posting them!2 -

Three (or even five) match bans I was suggesting, which adds up to the same thing I guess. Maybe even a fine for the club. You’d need good multi camera TV coverage to provide the necessary video evidence though, and that certainly isn’t a given. However, you’d only need a few well-publicised cases to put people off doing it.0
