They'll keep him because of the Europa League, a dead man walking.Rothko said:Ange will get binned now?

We've been here before. Half a dozen times in the last 6-7 months.Addick Addict said:The buck, however, stops with Ange and I fear that this defeat will be the straw that broke the camel's back.
I dont get what Levy is playing at. Yes, Ange has had one hell of an injury list to contend with (not a surprise Richarlison has cracked after 3-4 games back) but its the way he sets up. Yes, its great when it works but it is bloody horrific when it doesn't. There has to be some pragmatism. He has got no defensive tactical awareness.
Levy seems to be caught between a rock and a hard place. He's taken stick for years over his sackings of Jol, Poch, Mourinho (5 days before a cup final), Conte etc and he's decided to stick by the one manager that looks well out of his depth. Its absolutely baffling.
Lets not forget, that was a semi-final last night. I dont think we made a tackle in the first 45 mins. Get into them FFS. In their faces. Like Newcastle did to Arsenal over 2 legs. It was as clear as day that team last night was set up to keep Liverpool at bay rather than create anything at the other end. It was a semi final FFS. That was the most one-sided semi-final between two teams in the same division that I can remember in 40 years off watching football.
I wasn't surprised we got taken to the cleaners last night but it was the manner of it that got me.

I was surprised that Lucas Bergvall didn't start as he will tackle and get stuck in.
The spirit drained away from Spurs as it went 1-1 on aggregate and Liverpool are the last team you want to play when you lose belief.
I will be rooting for Newcastle but Liverpool have such a powerful squad they are strong for the 90+ minutes even when they use 16 players.
The 'quarter back' TAA was out last night but Conor Bradley is a superb RB and is so strong in the tackle as well as getting forward.
I keep reading that Klopp and Slot are different in their approach with Slot being Possession based and Klopp quick counter attacks ? I feel they play the same way and was glad to hear Arne Slot confirm with Gary Lineker that he didn't need to change but just make sure they were fit to go every 3 or 4 days as matches come thick and fast for successful clubs.

Yep I agree with this. That was the most negative display I can recall from any team in a semi final.JohnBoyUK said:

People criticise Ange Ball as being too gung ho, but if last night was the alternative, then stick to Ange Ball because that was pathetic0 -
The biggest thing you lack on the pitch are leaders. Liverpool have VDV. Newcastle brought in someone for the game to do that job even though he's hardly started one for months in the shape of Trippier. Straightaway he looked to let Arsenal know that they were in a fight and was backed up by the likes of Schar, Botman and Burn along with Tonali and Guimares in the middle of the park. Even Isak was doing it but in a more subtle way in running Gabriel and Saliba ragged.JohnBoyUK said:

I just don't see a single player in Spurs' line up last night who does that job. Son is meant to be the captain and leader but he is so passive in that respect and the biggest wind-up merchant of all, Richarlison, went off at half time and is nothing but a cry baby that the opposition laugh at anyway. Romero does it but then he can become uncontrollable and was missing last night.
Anyone can play well in a winning side but when backs are against the wall you need players who will galvanise not just the team and let a few know at half time who aren't doing it and will get the crowd going too. Who are they at Spurs?1 -
That was a Klopp like performance yesterday, with an incredibly aggressive pressing game and quick counter attacks.soapboxsam said:I was surprised that Lucas Bergvall didn't start as he will tackle and get stuck in.

He said "He always wins something in his second season" not he'll win a trophy (he has been at the media all season about that).Ducktapeshoerepairs said:Ange said he’d win a trophy this season, tbf the Europa league isn’t beyond them ?
It is kind of like Mourinho saying "I win a trophy everywhere I go (expect Tottenham)"
Then again

Agreed. There's not a single leader in the squad. Simple as that.Addick Addict said:

Loving it.2

Newcastle have been absolutely superb5
-
Well deserved, much the better team first half.
What a moment for Dan Burn too, Newcastle fan scoring for them at Wembley.2 -
So sad to see Liverpool losing... So very sad7
-
Quansah has to the be the best example of 'only being selected for England because of who you play for' i've ever seen. If he was at someone like Bournemouth or Brentford there's no chance he'd have been chosen.
Also having Macallister marking Dan Burn at corners must be the dumbest idea i've seen in a long time.2 -
2-0 come on!!1

Newcastle 10 shots
Liverpool 1 shot1 -
Nice for once seeing the likes of Shearer, Ant & Dec celebrating that goal so much, given how much you know they love the club.4

Who was the last English Manager to win a Major Trophy?0

Nunez and Jones on for a penalty shootout4
