The fact we haven’t got a home midweek game until December hoping it might get a couple more people down for this game than usual cup turn outs.0

A decent draw. The last time we played them at The Valley, Jude Bellingham got the winner.0

We literally have them at The Valley in the league start of October, this is potentially one of the most boring draws we could have got just a standard league 1 v league 1 carabao cup first round draw, any league 2 or championship team would have been better imo5 -
agree that's as dull as it gets - luckily I'll be on holiday1

From memory, we lost 1-0 and Bellingham got the only goal.
At least they'll be some away supporters at the game, rather than a sprinkling scattered around the Jimmy Seed Stand.0 -
Great joy. Another scintillating draw. Can hardly contain myself....🙄.1

Sorry, was more scarred by the equaliser at St Andrews!
He scored at The Valley on his full debut. Been downhill ever since...2 -

Bellingham came on as a right back but basically did what he liked, scored, knew straight away he was special. Can we beat the 821 that went to the place near Croydon the last time we played them in a cup though?1

Wonder which ball number Birmingham will be... Given our excellent record in this competition1

How long before this cup gets scrapped? Especially now the Champions league sides have to play 2 extra group games and there's hardly any free midweeks to fit games in. And in the week when the quarters are scheduled for Chelsea have a Conference league game, so there's already probably going to be scheduling issues.
City had to play last night less than 50 hours after the Arsenal game. Post-match Guardiola said "The next round, I announce you, I play the second team, we are not going to waste energy, for sure.”

I believe only England and Portugal have 2 cups now. (Of the major European nations).Surprised the EFL cup going wasn’t suggested more after France binned their one off a few years ago.0
-
If it was scrapped i doubt anyone would miss it. Even lower league clubs don't really care about it.
Most PL clubs don't care and you can't even argue that because the big clubs don't take it seriously it's a chance for other sides to get a trophy. The last 11 winners of it have been Man City (6), Man U and Liverpool (2 each) and Chelsea. And yet i doubt any of those clubs (except maybe United under Ten Hag) were really bothered they won it.0
