Not bringing anybody in would be criminal because with our injury record we need quality cover.
This is the worse league to get out of jyst ask Leeds fans what they thought of it.
Its interesting though that both us and Leeds have billionaire connections with the San Francisco 49's on their side but my Leeds mate is doing his nut in as they are top and need bodies to get them over the line and the only player they are looking at is a Southampton forward who's hardly played this season.
It seems both Leeds and our owners are all mouth and no wallets... Wasting a gilt edge opportunity to get to the championship now is crazy, screw this 'its a project bollox' take the bloody opportunity now.
Frustrating is not the word.4 -
No issue with it being a loan, need an alternative to Berry for the now, sure if it's a good move for all involved we can make it a permanent in the summer0
-
Didn’t Dubai say we want perm but boro stalling means more likely a loan0
-
Gilbert on loan and a winger in on a permanent would be okay. Still a bit concerned if we lost Coventry for any period of time we'd be in a bit of bother.1

I think our transfer record over the last 5 years means they’re all a bit guilty before they’re proven innocent for me. With every name (most of which I haven’t heard of, because I am out of touch with football in general), I don’t think they’ll be up to much.supaclive said:I'm not knocking Gilbert's qualities - I have seen hardly anything of him, but as it stands he has played 7 times this season for Middlesborough in the league and in total 10 games he's appeared in, for a total of 340 minutes, in which he has one goal, no assists, ten touches in the opposition box, six successful lay offs, one successful dribble and one yellow card.
How long will it take him to get match fit. He has appeared in a total of 27 games in the league in his career. A lot to put on the young, inexperienced shoulders. League 1 is a brutal division. Not played in League 1 and it was 3 years ago, but 8 appearances in Swindon with no goals.

The likes of Ramsay, Small and Lloyd Jones I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this season, Edwards is solid to. But then I look back to when Fraser arrived. I genuinely thought, great signing, he was an absolute fraud and pathetic excuse of a footballer.I think the type of player we’re going for is getting better, so hopefully this chap has the potential. I’m just not sure if it’s him alone as the only incoming, it will give us what we need to get up this season4 -
Doesnt help when a player comes from the Championship or Premier League and arent of a certain age to qualify as a Youth prospect. So you have to wonder why they're dropping down a level, is it because they're simply not good enough?cabbles said:

I worry if they dropping down a level because they're losing the desire and hunger for the game, whereas a player on the up is going to have a bit of swagger and confidence about their ability1 -
Think Gilbert is just unlucky with Boro spending quite heavily in the position he plays. Hopefully he's one that does well and we can negotiate a deal in the summer for a permanent.ForeverAddickted said:

i guess in theory, he may not be deemed good enough atm, for a promotion push in champ, but good enough for top end league 1 - that's all that matters atmForeverAddickted said:

The funniest thing possible is that we sign no-one before the window closes and then re-sign Hylton on a free after. The meltdown on here would probably be better than winning the Play-Offs

Cawley saying we're interested confirms, IMHO, that we're close or at least it has gone beyond an initial phone call.
It doesn't, IMHO, mean it is done.18 -

So far the owners have backed him is every player he wanted2

looks like he needs first team game time more than anything so doing well if he comes to us will be the only way he'll get itgolfaddick said:
