  • Gilbert should know Coventry as both played for the Ireland U21s at around the same time.
  • I think we would have loaned out Ahadme had Etete choose to come on loan to us rather than Bolton.

Plus I wouldn’t be at all be suprised to see him exit tomorrow if we can find an alternative target man.
  • 24 hours to go:
    1 more sleep.
An attacking midfielder who has stamina, pace, can run with the ball and succeed in a high percentage of passes, plus a few goals or assists.
    Any chance ?
  • I wonder how many clubs were interested in Ahadme.

Him not being in the squad recently suggests we have been trying to offload.

He been out injured Jones said he should be back v Blackpool but had set back so did not travel

Oh well, another transfer window looms of repeatedly refreshing the transfer update sites and looking at the photo of the snacks RangeRover man bought in, until the inevitable injury prone journeyman we have never heard of finally signs (destined only to play the once), and await the news that our real target turned us down (or failed medical/transfer fell through/deal highjacked by Bolton/went missing on the way to sign), and the late news one of our better players was sold, but unfortunately too late to get a replacement for, and for little/no money to one of our rivals.

    Still theres always next window!

Gilbert is the one they want, and been holding out for all window, it has been down to Boro to get a replacement in, but I think now as we get to the end of the window, the player is pushing.
personally I think would be great signing. It might be a loan to start with, but will look to make perm in summer if they can’t get a perm now!

Fingers crossed - this one feels right for some reason. If it happens and we get a pacy winger as well then i think the window would appear to be a success
We have Dixon tearing up the ressies. That's our pacy winger signing. Getting another one in ahead of him would be ridiculous
seems we've just signed Dixon so we can call games off for international reasons - doesn't seem to be getting a look in on the first team
That is not why they signed him ffs. Why would they sign someone for this reason. This is ridiculous. He's on absolute fire atm, surely close to getting another go
Are you American by any chance?

Honestly, don't know what some of you want.. It is the most stable the club has been years. We are in touching distance of the play offs, Jones is in control of what he wants. Since the day he came in, he said he wants smaller, fighter and hungry squad.

Yes we need to add one or two.. As long as they can make an impact. But the constant negativity to ownership is all a little boring now!!

We have rejected a bid close to 2 million for TC. Clubs are asking about Leaburn and knocking them back..

Do you think the ownership was responsible for Campball, Hyton and Potts signings? Suppose that was Scott's doing right.

    Get real!!

You have EVERY window for nigh on 3 years been the trumpet blower for the SMT

It's been better this year.  Agreed.  How did last year go for you and your inside knowledge as we finished in our lowest position for 97 years  DESPITE you telling us so many positive things repeatedly ?

    Stable great
Another season in League 1?  No thanks.

    I don't want that
    CM doesn't want that
99% of Charlton fans don't want that!

You answered it your self, it is better and we are in a more positive position than last year.

It was never going to happen over night. The ownership was never going to put billions in to the club, and they was up front about that at the start.

As I mentioned, god knows how many times, I have never spoke to SMT, my info comes from a number of other places...

We have put up years of shit ownership, and this lot are doing a lot right on and off the pitch.. Yet it isn't good enough.. Might be easier that you start supporting a Chelsea, Man City or Wrexham..

Much rather our club get there on merit, than buying our way!!

We regularly have the 4th ish largest budget in the league.  So we ARE buying our way.  Just badly

I said that SINCE the SMT came in you have been very supportive   Didn't say it was direct from them.

But I dont get the "much rather our club get there on merit"  what do you mean?

We've been pretty shit in League 1 for 5 years + now

Why do we deserve any more merit than Birmingham? Wrexham ? Wycombe?

    I don't understand ?!
What will happen to those clubs when the owners get bored?

We are always going to have a bigger budget, due to the size of the club..

Yes I am positive of the ownership group - as they have a plan, direction, engaging with the supports, put founding blocks for longer term success.. They are heads and shoulders above the previous few owners!

Birmingham are a bigger club than us   Chelsea and Man City also.  I don't see your point there?!

We are still underachieving and last year the SMT took us to our lowest position in nearly a century!

Do you not see the problem here?

Yes, and for the last three years getting it wrong, only pops up in transfer windows for 5 minutes of internet fame

Um because this year we MIGHT make the play offs
    Whoopdedoo

    I am still confused
What do you want for Charlton?
We stabilise as a League 1 team losing £8m or so a year whilst the fanbase dwindles and we lose our ground eventually?

Great business plan the SMT sold the owners then!

    I don't get it?

If we don't get out of this division this club WILL die.  It's not easy.  Hell no.  But you are steadfast in supporting an ownership group that despite being owned by 2 1/2 billionaires and the 4th (ish) largest budget in the division have, until, very recently, looked a bunch of amateurs, not fit for purpose.
