I know a lot of refs give a foul with Chuks on their keeper but for me the ref penalised Chuks for being stronger and cost us a goal. What did he do that their keeper didn't do except stay on his feet?
  • Would have taken a point before the game but having been 2-0 up it’s 2 points dropped.

No idea what Gillesphey was thinking trying to bring that down, completely moronic.

Absolutely need to bring in a winger and an attacking midfielder in the coming days or we’re 1 injury away from a big problem.

Would have been in playoffs if we had held on. Can’t believe that was on the cards a month or so ago

Gilleshpey always has a mistake on him, and we lost all shape when Anderson came on, bloke is clueless

Always disappointed to let a lead slip, but I thought we played well for the most part and deserved our point, which isn't a bad return for an away match. We're unbeaten in four now and Orient, Bolton and Huddersfield all slipped up today so it's not all bad.

Disappointing after being two up, but it’s a point away from home. Certain substitutes need to learn how to pass a ball…

Can't understand why Godden was subbed at all on around 60 mins. And for Aneke when we're two up!?!
I kind of get that one, but didn’t understand the TC / Kanu one. TC still had energy, was settled in the game and doing well. It felt early to be changing that.

With a subs bench of 3 strikers, 2 RCBs and Anderson, we are so limited in sub options we can make. Aneke / Leaburn is the same option and Mitchell / Edmonds Green is the same option.

IMO AMB looked suspect all afternoon. He was rooted to his goal line for most of the match, came for no set pieces and invited pressure. I have seen the first goal 4/5 times and can't see a defelction. He went down in installments and it was an awful goal to concede. The keeper debate has been done to death and ultimately neither of them are good enough to be our number 1.

I don't care whether Gillesphey was ok up to that point, that mistake is inexcusible, absolutely brainless. At that stage of the game you punt it into touch. He repeated his "giving up" when a player runs away from him" routine again as well. That is criminal, the bloke hit the bar, had he made a proper effort to get back he might have stopped the follow up. He has made basic errors all season, has that sort of mistake in his make-up and is simply not good enough for a team that is chasing promotion.

2 points thrown away. I rarely get annoyed by results anymore, but this has properly pissed me off.

The subs were all wrong as well. I don't understand why Jones replaced the front two? We lost our threat as soon as the change was made. I'll give Leaburn a bit of slack at the end as he had been on for about 30 seconds and his head wasn't in the game, but fuck me, what was he doing? Just leather it.....

Coventry MOM by a country mile. If we dont get an option to replace TC if it is needed and an upgrade on Berry we are risking throwing away a real opportunity.

Wasn’t there, didn’t watch on a dodgy stream so can only go on the match thread. On the face of it a good point and would have taken it all day long at 3pm. But when you are 2-0 up with 20 to go you can’t help but feel a bit deflated.

I said after the last game that Chuks effectiveness is wearing thin now and the last game showed he’s lost all his pace and he’s ok as a human battering ram for the last ten minutes only when you are desperate for a goal and he can cause chaos and created chances for others. I was amazed he got thirty minutes today.

And what is the lack of game time for Miles the last two games?
    The subs are shocking.

We are at a point where TC is so important we can't really afford to sub him, as him and Small are our only real direct threats.

As soon as he comes off, teams at the back get more comfortable. I never could have guessed how impactful TC would become in this role, don't think anyone could have.

Chuks has been shoddy most of the time he's played this season. Gets away with it cause he's a fan favourite. He's been slow, wasting chances and isn't winning his duels as comfortable as he used to do.

As for Leaburn God knows, I thought he seemed alright but something must be up if he isn't getting more game time today.

I like Chuks but those wages could be so much better off elsewhere, if we had a like for like for TC, Blackpool could have never got that comfortable, was the same as Bristol Rovers. Him coming off makes teams change it up a bit.

A good point given we were outplayed for much of the game.

Just noticed, both their goals scored by loanees brought in in January. Read into that what you will.
  • Gillesphey was having a great game and has been doing ok recently. No need to start looking for a crisis that isn't there.
No i disagree, he has been OK but has been close to making the mistake that costs us every time he plays.
    No he hasn’t

it is very easy to blame the subs but we don't know if Godden or TC was carrying an injury , except for one error very impressed by Gillesphey, overall a good performance however how good is Albie's passing game?
  • Well the subs were definitely game changers!
If only there was a period of 34 days where you could bring in some better options...eh.
If only it was that simple…eh

I thought Coventry was outstanding today, it’s a point and we move on, it would be nice to get a new left sided defender an attacking midfielder and a new keeper.

Please please please try and be positive lads. Yes it’s disappointing but a point on the road keeps us on track and we haven’t suddenly become shit.
some poor decisions today but onwards and upwards
To be honest, we've been shit for most of the season, barring a few performances. Being 2 nil up on 74 mins and not winning is pretty poor. I think we're fortunate to have something to play for this season.
I agree. Lots of ifs & buts but the table would look a lot different if........

    • We had conceded in injury time against Shrewsbury when they had a good chance to score. instead they missed and we somehow scored a last minute winner.

    • We had drawn against Bolton instead of grabbing a deflected goal. We could have even lost that one too having gone a goal behind - we usually do in those circumstances.

I know all teams can say that but it's not like we have been pulling up trees during this little run. Before the last 4 games we lost heavily to Rotherham & draw 0-0 with Reading. We have been poor in patches and average for most of the rest.

I am sure NJ saw it a job done - don’t risk an injury bring Chucks on to hold the ball up and DK to run his socks off and put pressure on the Blackpool defence.

Unfortunately we forgot how to defend.

Gillesphrey did play 35 times for Plymouth when they got promoted.

I've noticed that they both had two arms, and two legs... Read into that what you will.
  • 3 of our next 4 are at home and all very winnable, win those and we will be looking pretty good. Glad Orients momentum got stopped.

I think it will have the opposite effect, and Stevenage will pay the price next week...

Not seen the game, but I just cannot understand the substitutions. We are 2-0 up,they have to come out.Taking TC and Godden off gives them the perfect opportunity to do that as our attacking threat is diminished.Leave TC on ,and they have to mark him,Godden surely had another 10 minutes in him,so why give a clearly struggling Aneke half an hour.Just baffling.

Didn’t watch any of it. But I do think we’ve been naive for a long time at game management
  • Chuks really isn't bringing anything these days.  I love the talisman he's become but he just isn't vfm.  It might be time to say goodbye.  Isn't he out of contract this year?  Why oh why was Leaburn not brought on instead?
