Surprised Leuth isnt on already defending Gilleshpey. Normally likes a defender with a mistake in them 😀 Have been saying for weeks that we will not get promoted with Gilleshpey as a starting player, will either cost us just enough points so we don't make the playoffs or make the mistake in the playoffs that knock us out.
Couldn’t watch but as frustrating as it is to throw away a 2 goal lead I’d have taken a draw all day long. Only outside the play offs on GD (cue golfie saying we need to score more) and no idea how Orient will react to losing. It’s still in our hands
Oddly it was a really poor showing of game management, soon as we went 2-0 we seemed to play more desperate than when it was 0-0, quite odd and unlike this side
Aneke can't play for even 30 minutes now, so to bring him on that early is mad
Wasn't there & didn't watch any illegal streams so can only go by what's been posted on here.
Would have taken a point before the match but being 2 nil up with 20 mins to go you really need to see those games out. No idea if Chuks coming on was the wrong sub and Leaburn would have been the better bet. Problem is we didn't get the killer 3rd & whatever you say about our tightened defense this season we are still susceptible to cock ups and panicking at the back.
Might be a point gained but it feels like 2 points lost. Still don't think we'll make the play offs as we have that soft underbelly & can't capitalise when the opportunity is there.
Stevenage are now only 4 points behind us with a game in hand. Makes next week's match even more of a must win, as well as the re-arranged Posh match 3 days later.
I'd have gladly taken a point beforehand - and especially at half-time - but when you're 2-0 after 75 minutes, it has to go down as two points cast to the wind. We were far too open for Blackpool's first goal and the second was a horrific defensive error from Gillesphey (a shame, as he had one of his better games for us).
It's difficult when the result is so raw, but there are some positives - it's a point on the road against very tricky opponents and I thought that Coventry had an outstanding game.
Blackpool are a real hoodoo team for us. Glad to see the back of them to be honest. Thought we were gonna lose before the game so a point will do. Stevenage to come and they are another one that always seem to beat us no matter where they are in the league - would say we really need to win that one now.
Frustrating not to win, but worth noting that Blackpool had more shots (15 vs 13) and more shots on target (5 vs 2). They really should have been ahead before we scored.
Gillesphey had been in the running for MOTM, but sadly has that major howler in his locker. All defenders make mistakes, but he makes too many to be a long term solution in that position.
An alternative winger is essential in the rest of the window, as when TV went off we lost a lot of our threat.
A good point and as others have said, would have taken it at half time. Based on the 2 goal lead it has to be seen at 2 points dropped. Chuks touch is awful. Leaburn can't really be blamed as he played approximately 1 minute of football. Our defence showed frailties at the end of both halves. A real shame as normally we finish strong.
Should have won it, could have lost it. Draw fair enough on the balance of the game. Poor substitutions cost us. Jones thought it was won at 2-0 and took off TC who had a poor first half but was ripping them a new one in the second. Then elementary errors for their goals. Berry a passenger yet again and Karoy/Kanu not up to it. But easy to be picky. It’s league 1 after all and the second half was a cracking watch. Would have taken a point before we started but we could have been clear in 6th. Long way to go. We need reinforcements in key positions. If we don’t strengthen, Jones is either being very stubborn or is not being backed.
I'd have taken a draw before the game, and I'd have taken a draw at half time. To throw away the 3 points 2 goals up though is a bit sickening. We were firmly in the top6 with a couple of favourable games coming up.
The substitutions show how weak our options are. Chuks had one of his ineffective performances, and Kanu just doesn't look ready to make an impact atm, lack of game time maybe.
Some stronger options to come on with a bit more quality, and we may score a third, instead we shut up shop.
Overrall, the draw favours us more than Blackpool, and it's really important we didn't lose, objective complete in that regards.
We know what needs to be done to properly put us amongst it, let's see if our owners show the cojones to do it.
Safe travels back to all the Charlton family, well done for making the trip 👍🏻
Please please please try and be positive lads. Yes it’s disappointing but a point on the road keeps us on track and we haven’t suddenly become shit. some poor decisions today but onwards and upwards
To be honest, we've been shit for most of the season, barring a few performances. Being 2 nil up on 74 mins and not winning is pretty poor. I think we're fortunate to have something to play for this season.
There's hardly anyone who wouldn't have taken a point today, the order of service just was very demoralising. The fact is though we're still playing well, it doesn't feel like the results are a temporary turnaround now and that's a very positive thing. I think the thing most of us were concerned about is that little run around Christmas was a good blip but it's 1 loss in 11 now and 6 wins. We've got some tough games coming up and it would have been nice to show that we can beat the stronger teams but it wasn't to be. Today was individual errors and unfortunately those happen in football.
We're now one of 4 teams on 44 points scrapping over that 6th place spot and there were plenty of people who were certain our season was over in November. All in all things look ok
think this is the most gutting/disappointing part of todays result - it really has made it look like we will just be scrapping for one place, where as we could have been hunting Huddersfield and Stockport down, especially with the game in hand!
It's demoralising right now, I'm feeling it too, but at the end of the day on 3rd December we were 8 points off the Play-Offs, sat in 13th place and looking very, very miserable. Now we're disappointed because we could have been sat smugly in 6th place rather than plotting a way of kicking the teams around us out of our way. Huddersfield being 4 points ahead of us after they just got turned over by the Northampton team we smashed 5-0 at the end of December doesn't put them out of our reach. We just have to keep going like this.
Hoping it's not too negative on here tonight. Most of us would've taken a point before ko if we're honest. Yes we dropped 2 pts at the end, BUT, look where we are now compared to a few weeks ago! We're in 7th place have a game in hand and hopefully new blood arriving in next 2 days. We're now in this race, have 2 home games to come next and, with a fair wind, be right in the mix at the end Feb. We're now playing much better football, we're fighting and playing for each other. Confidence, despite the late setback today, is plain to see. Godden is doing his best to get the goals, Campbell is playing some good stuff, Berry was good today ad was Doc and Coventry! This could be a good season afterall, we just need to keep the new found belief!
I also genuinely don't think it helps that they had a bit of momentum and two decisions went their way that should have never have done. They got a decent chance from both of those dodgy decisions, stuff like that keeps the wheel spinning and gives belief.
We get those decisions instead and we get to slow it down a bit rather than it being a pinball type of game.
I never really quite understand that it’s any comfort that we would have taken a point pre-match. Pre-match you were ignorant, you didn’t know what was going to happen, now you have the knowledge of what happened in the match. Drawing 2-2 after being 2-0 up at the 74th minute is a kick in the nuts. It’s not fatal to our season, we still have a decent shot at sixth place, but that doesn’t change that this evening it feel like 2 points dropped rather than being happy with 1.
I can moan with the best of them but I find moaning about today, a very difficult match, quite tiresome. It was a point gained before the match started and consequently it still is.
2-2 was still a good result and would have taken that before we started, but really stupid stuff not trying to run down the clock better when we were 2-1 up, still believe top 6 is a realistic spot for us.
First time all season we’ve dropped points after scoring the first goal.
Second time all season (after Barnsley away) that we’ve dropped points from a winning position
Disappointing when it inevitably does happen and lessons will have to be learnt but no need to overreact to it - if it becomes a trend that’s the time to start being concerned.
Wasn’t there, didn’t watch on a dodgy stream so can only go on the match thread. On the face of it a good point and would have taken it all day long at 3pm. But when you are 2-0 up with 20 to go you can’t help but feel a bit deflated.
I said after the last game that Chuks effectiveness is wearing thin now and the last game showed he’s lost all his pace and he’s ok as a human battering ram for the last ten minutes only when you are desperate for a goal and he can cause chaos and created chances for others. I was amazed he got thirty minutes today.
And what is the lack of game time for Miles the last two games?
I can moan with the best of them but I find moaning about today, a very difficult match, quite tiresome. It was a point gained before the match started and consequently it still is.
Agree. We also know we need a left CB instead of Gillesphy and a more effective attacking mid. Until/unless we get them we will be vulnerable in those positions, as we were today.

Soft goals as usual.
Nite nite.

Valuable point and the run continues.

Then I look at Brighton today and figure "yeah, it could have been a lot worse".

WTF has this got to do with my post...🤷♂️
