Please please please try and be positive lads. Yes it’s disappointing but a point on the road keeps us on track and we haven’t suddenly become shit. some poor decisions today but onwards and upwards
To be honest, we've been shit for most of the season, barring a few performances. Being 2 nil up on 74 mins and not winning is pretty poor. I think we're fortunate to have something to play for this season.
I agree. Lots of ifs & buts but the table would look a lot different if........
• We had conceded in injury time against Shrewsbury when they had a good chance to score. instead they missed and we somehow scored a last minute winner.
• We had drawn against Bolton instead of grabbing a deflected goal. We could have even lost that one too having gone a goal behind - we usually do in those circumstances.
I know all teams can say that but it's not like we have been pulling up trees during this little run. Before the last 4 games we lost heavily to Rotherham & draw 0-0 with Reading. We have been poor in patches and average for most of the rest.
Quite a match ! Lots for both sets of fans to enjoy but poor decisions enabled the Seasiders to grab a point at the death IMO.
First off, my positives.
Overall I thought Thierry frightened them with his pace & aggression, while TC having had a quiet first 45 was more effective after the break. Conor ran his socks off as usual and Josh is growing into a POTY contender with every 90 minutes he plays. And apart from his faux pas that led to their equaliser, Macca was as solid as his defensive team mates.
The poor decisions I mentioned included the error for their 2nd goal & the amount of space we granted the opposition at crucial points of the game. We gave it our all but our lack of height that Greg & Brownie referred to didn't do us any favours.
However, whether other Lifers have mentioned it already, and/or whether the gaffer has, I feel that our subs were brought on too soon, with the fresh legs failing to have the effect NJ required.
OK - we were 2 nil up but 10 minutes after scoring our 2nd, to make 2 major changes up front seemed somewhat premature, especially with young Daniel having a serious lack of game time of late. Chuks I would agree was worth bringing on but I'd have paired him with Miles ( partly for his height) and added Karoy for his energy at the same time. IF we had been dominating at that point with the Tangerines looking very unlikely to stage a comeback, then, fine. But they had shown they were not a team to be taken lightly & with the introduction of their subs /fresh legs, it was clear the game was far from over.
OK, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I am hoping that Nathan's post match interview reflected that he possibly underestimated the opposition once we'd taken that 2 goal lead.
Or perhaps it's just me.
But a crucial point is not to be sneezed at and keeps us in touch with the top 6 following a hard fought contest. Just a pity that Stevenage are currently on a roll....
But.... point away from home. In a better position in league.
I can see the logic in bringing Chuks on. He holds the ball up better than Leaburn and had been winning more headers recently, too. Just didn't work today.
Am sure the lads will be disappointed. No Tues game to bounce back, but time on the training pitches now.
Plenty of teams from across all the divisions lose from 2 nil up, a draw is not so bad, a fair result in the end. It was exhausting just watching from 75 minutes, let alone playing.
It's a constant learning process, and we don't have a lot of old heads in the team. We needed to slow it right down, not let them get anything going, but instead of that we started panicking, and displayed little if any gamesmanship. Jones needs to learn as well. Chuks now offers very little, Godden could have lasted another 10, then Leaburn could have come on for the last 15. At the end it looked like Leaburn's confidence has taken a hit, that was an awful pass from him. But top six is still in sight, and whether we finish 3rd or 6th, it doesn't really matter.
Chuks really isn't bringing anything these days. I love the talisman he's become but he just isn't vfm. It might be time to say goodbye. Isn't he out of contract this year? Why oh why was Leaburn not brought on instead?
He’s a massive enigma. His strength will always be a factor, but sometimes he comes on and genuinely looks like he’s never kicked a ball before

Think yourself lucky you only saw the last 15 minutes, I saw the whole game and my old heart is still in recovery mode...🥵

I don't agree that he doesn't offer anything but this wasn't the time for him. Really strange subs.
Reading between the lines there, he didn't sound too confident of any additions in the window, when asked how busy will you be, he half answered very busy, but whether anything... Then switched to another bog standard line, so, nothing gonna happen the way I see it.
I know a lot of refs give a foul with Chuks on their keeper but for me the ref penalised Chuks for being stronger and cost us a goal. What did he do that their keeper didn't do except stay on his feet?
The keeper deliberately stood on Chucks foot so chucks shoved him to get him off, getting a card as a result.
After the last ref, this one stood out as shite, but tbf he was par for L1 referee's.
I agree that the subs were an error, I raised an eyebrow (Roger Moore style) when they were made.
Their sub, Ennis making his debut was a handful and made more of an impact on the game than our forward changes. Just goes to show that January signings can work.
Obviously disappointing not to win after being 2-0 up but i'm going to look at the positives.
A draw away isn't a bad result. We have 2 home games to come. Only 1 defeat in 11 league games. Over the last 10 games, only Orient and Birmingham have picked up more points than us. 4 different scorers in our last 4 games (5 if you count an own goal) so we're not reliant on 1-2 players. Despite drawing we actually gained on Huddersfield, Orient and Bolton.
Lost our mobility when subs made. They probably had better chances on the counter throughout the game but was impressed at how confident we seemed pre subs. Shit crowd in a shit ground in a khazi of a town. Blackpool away fixtures really should only be at the very start or very end of a season. Lots of old and familiar faces knocking about today. Onto the next.
I haven't watched the game, so take my opinion with a massive pinch of salt. But 2-0 up away from home is not the time to bring Aneke on. What on earth does he add in that situation?!
It's a great point and yes it would have been a fantastic three points but I thought we would lose this one, so am happy with a point. Don't agree that the subs lost us the game, Tyreece looked like he was carrying a knock and we all knew that Blackpool's height and physicality would stretch us and that was starting to tell in the 15 mins before half time. We caught them cold on the resumption but they were always going to put pressure on from free kicks and corners so we had to try and get some beef on there. If there is a lesson to be learned, then it's Blackpool's sub, Ennis, on loan from Stoke, he gave them pace up front, which they didn't have with Bloxham, as decent as he is, lets hope we can get a game changer before the window closes.
