  • Frustrating to throw that away with basic errors again, I never will be a fan of Gillesphey and hope Mitchell gets back in now but it’s a decent point and brings us closer with other results

5th or 6th is doable for us

Kanu needs a loan, not up to L1 standard yet
If we loaned out all the players in the squad not up to League One (in the fans view), we couldn't field a team!

To be fair, we have a few players with skills, but mostly a bunch of average players, playing in a low skilled league. Apart from the top few sides, most do not have a good footballing side to watch. We are establishing ourselves as a top half side. Promotion contenders' we might be, but we might not.
  • Not a bad result but very frustrating after going 2 up. Thought he made the subs too early. Were hanging on a bit towards the end but had a chance at the death. Not sure what Leaburn was trying to do, should have just gone for it but in fairness he’d only been on for a couple of minutes.

  • IMO subs about 10 mins early. A look at the February fixtures, and I expect us to be sitting in 5th or 6th come the Orient game. I also expect to be going to Wembley on May 25th. Manager should get a lot of credit, but today he got it wrong. 2-2 today not a bad result.
  • Yep all on jones today unfortunately but then got Bolton and other games right…
  • Disappointed not to have won after being 2 nil up.
But a few short weeks ago we were 14th in the league with seemingly nothing to play for.
We are now 7th in the league with two home games coming up.
Now is the time for our owners to bring in one or two players who can get us over the line.
It would be a big mistake not to strengthen and just mis out.
Since when has it no longer been the JANUARY transfer window?
    When does it end now?

In what part of my post do I mention January.
I'm fully aware when the window shuts

Didn't watch the the game, but seems the subs need to start making a bit more of an impact. Especially if they can't last the full 90
  • There's hardly anyone who wouldn't have taken a point today, the order of service just was very demoralising. The fact is though we're still playing well, it doesn't feel like the results are a temporary turnaround now and that's a very positive thing. I think the thing most of us were concerned about is that little run around Christmas was a good blip but it's 1 loss in 11 now and 6 wins. We've got some tough games coming up and it would have been nice to show that we can beat the stronger teams but it wasn't to be. Today was individual errors and unfortunately those happen in football.

We're now one of 4 teams on 44 points scrapping over that 6th place spot and there were plenty of people who were certain our season was over in November. All in all things look ok
think this is the most gutting/disappointing part of todays result - it really has made it look like we will just be scrapping for one place, where as we could have been hunting Huddersfield and Stockport down, especially with the game in hand!
There are 18 games to go. I agree that it’s not just 4 teams battling for 6th place. 4th and 5th  place are quite attainable, be it by us, L.O, Reading, Barnsley or Bolton.
Also, anyone down to Rotherham in 15th (seven points behind us) could suddenly win 6 consecutive games and put themselves in contention to scrape 6th.
18 games is still over 3/8ths of the season.
  • Must say i'm getting more convinced that Chuks has passed his sell by date, and really is not up to even his usual last 20 minutes impact role anymore, he was totally invisible  when he came on along with Kanu.
Really don't know what's going on with Leaburn, that is really a strange one...
Invisible is a strange word to use, I thought he was quite involved. Whether you think what he contributed was positive is another matter.
  • Disappointing to lose that lead with 17 mins to go, Both i feel should have been avoided and i thought AMB should have done better with their first goal. We need a new keeper. He doesn't dominate his 6 yard box like other keepers do.

Second MG should have done better with the up and under but at least we got a point.
  • Just watched the highlights. Maynard Brewer has to do better for the first goal. As for the second, ridiculous from Gillesphey. Liability
  • Wasn’t there, didn’t watch on a dodgy stream so can only go on the match thread. On the face of it a good point and would have taken it all day long at 3pm. But when you are 2-0 up with 20 to go you can’t help but feel a bit deflated.

I said after the last game that Chuks effectiveness is wearing thin now and the last game showed he’s lost all his pace and he’s ok as a human battering ram for the last ten minutes only when you are desperate for a goal and he can cause chaos and created chances for others. I was amazed he got thirty minutes today.

And what is the lack of game time for Miles the last two games?

Chuks has been shoddy most of the time he's played this season. Gets away with it cause he's a fan favourite.
Really? Fans’ favourite ? Has he ever been that, let alone now?

Agree he tried alright, but was totally non existant as far as contributing anything to the match was concerned, the thing with Chuks is he just isn't consistent and  able to be relied on...
  • When i wake up Monday morning it wouldn't be too bad a point, especially with results today. But right now I'm pretty pissed off we didn't win that
What about when you wake up Sunday morning.
I'll be too hungover to give a flying shite about it

Different opinions I know, but the funny thing is before the game others were saying we should keep him next season, and in the last few weeks some were saying he's our best player.

  • Disappointing to throw away a 2 goal lead but a point away from home is always good especially if we can win our upcoming home games.

It was the wrong sub so Jones has to take some blame. There's just no need to bring Aneke on when 2 nil up. Godden and Campbell should've stayed on for another 15 or so but hey ho, he's got most subs right recently.

We'd ideally sign a new GK, a left footed central defender, an attacking midfielder and somebody who can play wide with pace.

Ultimately we need two of these- preferably a CAM and left central defender in my mind.

We're much improved but I have concerns if this 'same 11' can play 16 games in a row without injury and suspensions.
Had to lol this post only because you're in fantasy land if you think we are looking to bring in 4 players. 2 at best I'd say (CAM & a wide player). Still think we'll get one in on loan sometime Monday evening. Whether it will be enough to nab 5th or 6th come May is anyone's guess. Mine is that we'll finish outside the play offs.

For the want of a nail the battle was lost......

Well, each to their own of course, but if we have to rely on Chuks next season...

  • Gutting to drop the 2 points but given Blackpool had a few chances themselves to win it, point cant be sniffed at.

Good start to the game, fast paced and a bit of a midfield battle, they had plenty of height at both ends of the pitch which caused us trouble. The Chuks over Leaburn sub I get, Leaburn hasnt won or held the ball up much in his last couple of starts so doubt he'd have fared any better and thats supposed to be the Cheat codes thing so, yeah, Kanu for TC to keep some pace up front.

Unlucky for Gillesphey played well up to the point of the miscontrol but that also sums him up in a
    Charlton shirt.

Godden, lovely striker, keep starting him, agree he came off 10 mins too early, he doesnt need to presspresspress, just get the ball to him in the box and he'll fashion a chance as he did again today with another tidy finish.

Coventry - Superb, MOM for me looked class and even managed to connect a few forward passes!

Good point in the end, keeps us well in the mix.

  • We didn’t lose! Honestly thought we would go on to lose that game as they were massively in the ascendancy at the death.

I thought they were a very good side going forward. Some very dangerous players!
  • Take the point. Plenty of positives to take and the unbeaten run continues. Orient not in action next weekend, so beat Stevenage and we finish next weekend in 6th. Then consolidate that position at home to Peterborough the following Tuesday. Not a prediction of what will happen, but that's the target.
  • While Gillesphey has obviously created a mess for their second goal, we got away with it initially when they hit the bar. Ramsay switching off and not tracking the runner was a bit disappointing given Jones was always going to get dragged towards the ball there. Could have bailed ourselves out of that situation if we'd kept working after the mistake.

More positively, good to see Docherty involved in both goals. For both of them he was the shot/pass before the pass that forced the issue. He's improve a lot with the new approach.
