Agreed. Classless crowd, but not as surprising as the raucous crowd last French Open; very un-French! They had to ban alcohol in the stands

Draper playing well and Kokkinakis looking exhausted here0

Agreed - fingers crossed - and the crowd got a telling off from the umpirefenaddick said:Draper playing well and Kokkinakis looking exhausted here0 -

Some player like playing in a loud venue, even if the crowd's supporting the other player. I guess it would feel like playing an away Davis Cup game, where crowd involvement is more usual than in the Grand Slams.0

Playing Zverev the No2 seed will be tough.follett said:Fearnley likely to be playing second seed Zverev in the next round, who is 2 sets up at the moment0 -
What a win in the end for Draper. Fair play. Hopefully that hasn't taken too much out of him for the next round.5

Great performance from Draper, superb game in front of a hostile crowd, so good having two British men into the third round5
-
Superb match and great win for Draper. His opponent in the next round, Vukic, also went to 5 sets today4
-
It's the classic break back/service drop when serving for the match which shows the difference between the best players and the good ones.fenaddick said:Brilliant break to love by Draper with Kokkinakis serving for the match

Great game. Hostile crowd gave him energy!!1

I think over the last 6 months Zverev has shown he is at long last ready to win a slam.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:

He is a very good player imo, like Murray he just needs a break through slam and then he'll be on his way.1 -

It does happen at Wimbledon too but this game has been particularly bad. Things like cheering missed first serves etc is a bit crappyPrincessFiona said:I'm finding the Australian crowd very annoying - surely the crowds at Wimbledon aren't this bad?! I keep turning the sound down a bit but now I can't hear the commentators properly

Not surprised with Kokkinakis playing the crowd up given he's best mates with Kriygos.0

Actually showed good sportsmanship conceding a point when the umpire called a let.MarcusH26 said:Not surprised with Kokkinakis playing the crowd up given he's best mates with Kriygos.3 -

Yeah Raducanu should be getting started shortly.

Back problems this time for Emma. Looking back at her US Open win, apart from the miracle of winning as a qualifier, and not dropping a set, the amazing thing is that she made it through the event without any injury issues.1

Not just British players being heckled by the home crowd.0 -
She didn't play a lot of tennis leading up to Wimbledon preceding the US Open because she was concentrating on her A Levels. She then increased her training from very little to a lot - it appears the increase was far too sharp, meaning injuries. And finding the right balance seems to have been a challenge, resulting in successive injuries. I don't know if she was especially injury prone when younger but then again the work level would not have been in the same ball park (no pun intended). Since then she appears to be the Chuks of tennis - not sure if that is because of the impact of the too steep increase on training or as as well as the effects of the increase in training. She has employed a new fitness trainer, so hopefully that will make a difference. So far her team appear to be trying to find a balance between not too many tournaments and not enough match time.killerandflash said:Back problems this time for Emma. She often beats players ranked above her - due to reduced matches and therefore reduced ranking points, her ranking often is higher than the level she is playing. Maintaining a ranking where she doesn't need to go though qualifying makes a huge difference.
I've read so much rubbish from people saying how useless she is and how she gives up - she beat Pegula from match point down. And no professional tennis player in the top 500 is 'useless', let alone the top 805 -
I was wondering if it was a tactical injury.killerandflash said:Back problems this time for Emma. Looking back at her US Open win, apart from the miracle of winning as a qualifier, and not dropping a set, the amazing thing is that she made it through the event without any injury issues.
She had lost 3 games in a row in the 2nd set and was 3-0 down.
After the trainer came on stopping the game the form reversed with Emma then winning I think the next 4 games and eventually the set and match (and yes I was watching).1 -
