Shame we are still four points off sixth. At least Stockport are stuttering so fifth and sixth up for grabs. Need to keep this momentum up though. Tough away fixtures after Xmas, five of the top six plus Bolton to come.
Win half of those and we're gonna be in the mix by February.

I like the look of Kone worth a cheeky high bid... With Ahadme as a swap on top.

Terrific patient team performance and two great goals by leaburn. How some people want him to leave is beyond me.

Can't remember the last time we won two home games back to back. And typical couldn't make either due to transport and work commitments but managed to watch on a stream.

    Keep it going 7th now.
I don't know where you seen anyone wanting Leaburn to leave because I haven't.
I've only read/heard the complete opposite.

Great performance, very enjoyable match and good atmosphere in the ground. Everyone worked their socks off, Lloyd Jones is immense and Miles Leaburn take a bow, he terrorised their back 4. Nathan Jones well done but stop being so touchy, fans are the same everywhere. Pitch was awful though, ball bobbling all over the place.

Haven’t read this thread. But what a nasty, horrible little team they are. They targeted Miles early on and he got no protection from the ref. Their number 2 was a disgrace, always in the refs ear, constantly moaning, fouling etc. Their number 3 was the worst, he nearly snapped Miles’ wrist (well that’s what it looked like from the north lower). Horrible team who got everything they deserved today. We stood up well to them, didn’t allow their bullying tactics to work. Although miles did go after that no. 3 after the incident and got a yellow!
"Nearly snapped his wrist". LOL. Hilarious.

@Chippycafc is correct on this one. More than one poster here, especially in post match threads after games where he was struggling.  And plenty of others  asserting  that his departure during this window is all but inevitable.

At least with that we might be able to bolster the team in Jan… with Miles probably heading for the door as well
It’s objectively impossible for both of those things to happen at the same time.
I think one player might be on the move from those on display today, Richard Kone. 14 league goals so far.

Those are two very different things to be fair. Actively wanting him out is absurd, but being concerned he's going to be sold as a quick money making exercise is more understandable.

Hopefully he goes nowhere but this still Charlton and nothing can ever be fully ruled out.
  • Jones commanding at the back; Leaburn on fire; TC in good form; midfield working hard and doing the basics well. Everything came together today.

How Grimmer (number 2) didn't get booked, I have no idea.  Whiny, horrible shit.

I thought we looked good after scoring the 2nd and the confidence was up.  Wycombe had run out of ideas.

Two well taken goals from Leaburn, and 3 wins in a row is commendable

But, I thought we were out of the game for the first 35 minutes with Wycombe looking much more like efficient with the ball and the signs were there that we could concede

I still think this bunch of players aren’t up to it, and this is the first time winning 3 on the bounce since the opening 3 games, we’ve had these mini false dawns before.

time will tell, but I still can’t see past a mid table finish

In that first 35 mins Berry should have scored at least one, possibly 2 and TC I thought should have played in Leaburn or beaten the last defender rather than shooting poorly from range.  Wycombe offered nothing at all.

Wycombe only looked ordinary because we played so well and made them look ordinary.
They had only lost 2 league games, the first 2 games of the season.
The losses were 2-3 & 3-2 against Birmingham and Wrexham.
Since then they had won 15 and drew 3.
They looked ordinary for the first hour because they had their best 3 players on the bench. It changed when they came on & their attacks were more potent. Their manager did a Nathan Jones & if I was a Wycombe fan I'd be fuming.

Credit where it is due to Jones and the players. They’re turning round a pretty bleak period and it was great to see them all celebrating together when we scored. It did feel to me like Jones was losing the dressing room so happy to see o was maybe wrong about that.

Just one thing re Jones. I get that he wants to protect the team publicly and feels he is the right person for this job. Hopefully that will prove to be the case but some of his comments regarding the fans- ‘vilified’, ‘catastrophic’ need tempering. The fan base was perfectly within its rights to question tactics, effort and results which went against us before Christmas. I don’t think he should be creating a ‘them and us’ culture by using hyperbole.
Jones is without doubt cranky but then so is Mourinho.
  • Lloyd Jones is the biggest difference to the team and our change in results (more than Leaburn) it feels to me.

Agreed, he commands that back line better than anyone. Maynard Brewer never shouts at them.

You laugh, Off_it, but I had to watch from home today and you could see Leaburn holding his hand and when he got up and lost his head a little he was screaming at the ref “he’s tried to break my arm, is he mad?!”. When you watch it back, the 3 had clamped miles’ arm between his own body and arm and yanked sidewards whilst Miles’ arm was the other way. It was naughty and I thought the 3 was a sly little tosspot

Comments about the awful pitch. What’s the problem?
    It looks terrible doesn’t it.

We paid a fortune for that not to happen?
Is it extra wear from the women's games perhaps?
Yep. The high heels churn the pitch right up. Lol

Really! Miles played very well today..in the second half ..but don’t believe for a second he’s not replaceable… and I think he wants out and up… so time to deal with reality … what matters is how much get’s reinvested… performances like today will help that price at least… I still think he is limited receiving the ball to his feet..

What a piss poor pitch. I thought it was meant to be a state of the art pitch with this new stitch together grass. I know the ladies play on it as well but it shouldn’t look like that 5 months in. It’s only going to get worse. As for the game what a great battling display  by everyone. That’s how we should try and play every week. I’m not sure we will be able to hang on to Lloyd Jones as his contract is up in June and today's opponents are looking to sign him. If they don’t offer him a decent contract he will be gone and we will be playing catch up in the transfer market. But you know what this board of directors are like. But well done Charlton let’s enjoy the moment.

Fantastic result and fully deserved, every player from front to back played their part today. Could and should have won by more. A word for the ref, up until their number 3 trying to break Leaburns arm(how did the lino not see it??),he was having a reasonable game, letting it flow but then he just lost it,one bad decision after another culminating on awarding that free kick after Jones made the cleanest tackle you'll ever see,he now goes in the 'Dogshit ref' box. Pitch was appalling and so was Wycombes whinging, also their constant little digs on our players that the ref kept missing, horrible side.

...Got what they deserved then didn't they, thought we were a pushover...upstarts the lot of 'em

I like the first bit...but the second part could kill the deal.🤦‍♂️
  • Really glad we beat them, the dirty fuckers. Very enjoyable. Miles is still getting better match by match and if he continues to improve then we have a hell of a player. We probably do already.

I thought they were a dirty side too. It is a positive we can stand up to these sorts of teams.
  • Absolutely, and there are a lot of them. Refs miss so much.
  • And the assistants are also appalling.

  • Table going into January

Was thinking of going today but I did my back in a couple of days ago so gave it a miss.  Serves me right for being a wuss.  Hopefully this will continue for the Crawley game and I can enjoy being in attendance for a win for the first time since Birmingham.

Also some of their lot seem to have let their high position go to their head.  Don't think I've ever read such crap about why they lost from any other team.

I've seen a lot worse on here when we have lost. Lots of comments that we deserved to win.  Also agree with them that our pitch is awful in the modern day game.

During the game their response to "Top of the league, your having a laugh" being "Premier League and you fucked it up"" was laughable, presumably the next verse would be " FA Cup winners and you fucked it up".

Ok maybe not snapped!! But it was an odd incident, he looked like he grabbed his wrist and certainly tried to yank it, very odd

Changed the game completely. He looks a real player. Shame we didn't notice him before they did, as he's exactly what we need up top to compliment what we have.

Carries on the way he is, and he is destined for the championship, minimum.

Also thought Caleb Taylor was really good for them today who I think we were linked with before? Those two stood out for me.
